I actually find it hard to be mad at the players, which normally isn't the case after a shit-show of a performance. They are clearly told to not hoof it under pressure. Pickering hoofed it last Saturday against Huddersfield and it led to the only goal of the game. He probably got dropped because of it !!!!! The fact is I was more annoyed at the players for the performance at Wigan, a team clearly inferior man for man against who we also hardly created a decent attack against. Burnley was always going to be a bit of an uphill slog and trying to out football them wasn't going to work. Never was. I'm only furious at the set up and the stubborn persistence to play out from the back, which creates very little and costs us goals. I like JDT and I like the league position we are in, but the anger this morning is totally caused by him. @rog of the roverssays not to over-react and lessons must be learned. But we have all been saying about playing out from the back since the start of the season. It cost us at Luton, it cost us at Wigan. Back in August there are posts saying 'imagine if we go to Burnley and concede goals playing like this'. And yet here we are, having played exactly that way and done exactly that. So what we are seeing is not an over-reaction to a bad performance yesterday. It's a reaction to a manager who DOES NOT LEARN and persists in doing the same thing with the same players with no evidence it is of any benefit in games where we are getting outplayed.

When it’s not working we need a plan B. Surely actually being able to change the way the team is playing when you are playing very poorly is a simple ask for any competent manager. And yet games such as Wigan, Luton, Coventry and again today are all the same. We fuck about and don’t go anywhere. In that first half today how many times did Kaminsky roll the ball out in his area to a defender and we ended up losing it within 35 years from our goal. 5? 6? It’s happened all season. It was first commented on at Celtic in July! Our brighter (and I say that loosely) moments in the first half where when we got SG and BB on the ball around the box. And those instances tended to come by going front to back quicker (as did our 1 shot on target). And yet the second half we played the same way, and when we went a goal behind we still did the exact same shit which ultimately led to the 2nd goal and killed the game. Stubborn. Now I’ve no problem with tippy tippy plan A if that’s how he wants to play. It’s reaped it’s rewards and our league position shows that. However it’s also why we have lost so many games so spectacularly badly. As soon as any team presses up on us and puts us under serious pressure we can’t pass it out and struggle. Even in games we’ve won at home such as Birmingham, Sunderland and Huddersfield, once that team has realised they need to push on to salvage the game, they’ve suddenly had us on the back foot. The evidence is there even in the games we have won. And yet he refuses to change it - ever. After the first goal we should have been going a bit more direct. How hard can it be for Kaminsky to kick it up field and for the midfield to push up and try to win the second ball. It’s not like it could be any less effective than what we saw all game. I’ve no issue with losing to Burnley. I expected it and they have better players than we do. But we had 1 fucking shot (on or off target) all game and that sums up out performance completely. And for all the “ooh. Burnley are a Ferrari “ posts, how is it Crawley and Shrewsbury can muster more shots, let alone every other Championship side?

I hate to say "I told you so", but I did. King Stubborn refuses to change things to the detriment of the team. I've seen us lose lots of games over the last 35 years, but I've never seen an away following as angry and flat at the decisions of a manager as that seemed today at the end of the game.

You should have thrown Kaminsky in to be booked as well. If we are in front he will take 3 minutes over every goal kick.

That’s daft Chaddy. Which of those events will only be full to 60% of capacity? It’s £4.99 to watch some films at Vue cinemas, and £5 to get into Catterick Racecourse. Those prices are irrelevant to what is charged at Ewood as well. The only fair comparison is other football clubs with a similarly affluence of fan base.

We don’t encourage season ticket sales and don’t encourage walk on sales. The pricing in the Riverside is an absolute joke. It’s a shed of a stand (no offence to the regulars) and will cost less than the other stands to open due to its lack of facilities. It’s been talked about above that the away fans have to be charged the same as the home fans for comparable seating. But if rules allow, the Riverside should be an entry-level stand with season tickets at £250 and match day tickets at £17.

No-one talked about charging away fans more - just admission price in general. As far I am aware the away club gets no takings from the gate receipts, therefore it is completely up to home club what price they charge. I remember somewhere that the EFL wanted to limit the number of bundled deals (to get around clubs allowing the home fans to consistently get in cheaper than the away fans by 'stealth'), but I don't think the away club has any say on the individual match pricing the home club implements. As a side point, Rovers charge £15 for 1875 membership which knocks off £5 per game for the members. This is already getting around the home/away prices. There must be a rule that stops them, for example, charging only £1 for membership but knocking £10 off the match day price for members (yet keeping the away fan prices high).

Basically if you are in debt (fines / finance agreements etc..) then they must take cash as it is legal tender. But as you are agreeing to a new transaction at the point of retail, the retailer can set certain terms of the sale. I.e card only.

I'm fairly sure the type of fans we need to attract to get bigger crowds at Ewood aren't travelling all over the country paying over £30 going to away games. That's pretty obvious isn't it?

We know how many 'usual' home fans we have from our fairly static home attendances. Local Derbys / bigger games are a chance to entice more people to come and watch football at Ewood who rarely come. That's why you get bigger crowds. Why would any of those floating potential supporters have 1875 memberships, which means you have to commit to at least 3 games just to break even? Where is the benefit of pricing these supporters out of the bigger games?
