  1. Oh, I agree on that. All footballers should be banned throughout their career full stop. "But you can't tell them what to do in their free time!" is the argument. Why not? They're stopped from drinking, clubbing, eating bad foods etc etc. That's all in their free time. what difference is staying off a toxic social media site. I'd have it written into every contract.
  2. Exactly tho DE, so what does that say about the turds that do. The ones that drag the team down even from the sidelines. Boils my blood. You're right, the very least you should expect from someone being paid handsomely to do "nothing", is their support. Just the reality is, that's often not the case. Don't even start me on Danny Murphy's wife (ex)!! 🤬🤬
  3. Or alternatively..... nice to see a player that has (quite rightly) been booted out the squad, not sulk and spit his dummy out, but show full support to the people that are playing, and genuine joy at their success. Rare thing I'd say in a modern professional footballer. Good on him. Not his fault the team that does play has been awful for ages.
  4. Rovers have been good for that bet for years now. Like you say, not a great place to be if you want promotion. Interestingly, our odds of a win have shortened overnight (2.15 down to 2.05). Who the hell is lumping on us for a win?! @Mercer? 😀 You can get 1.77 on Brum not to lose. That's where the value is for me. Sadly.
  5. Sincere condolences and RIP for those loved ones you lost in 2020. I hope 2021 brings you much well-deserved and long overdue joy and happiness. Good luck on the job front, keep grinding and I'm sure you'll get your chance. 🤞 Happy New Year everyone! Stay safe, well, and happy.
  6. I, and many others, wanted him out in Aug 2019 because a pattern was emerging. He's had 16 months since then, a fair crack of the whip, there's been a few rays of light, some false dawns, but ultimately we're not going forward. Unlike others I actually fairly rate TM's transfer business on the whole. Some exciting progress in attack. But come matchday, I've lost total confidence in him having a winning team on the pitch. I think someone else could do better on that front. I also think someone Venky's would appoint "could" do better. And if it was my decision I'd be willing to roll the dice and find out.
  7. Not sure it's a pen, but if it's in our box, the ref wouldn't be able to get the whistle to his mouth fast enough.
  8. The space is there on the counter today. Supposedly our forte. Can't be any excuses about a team parking the bus. It's there to be won if we play our cards right.
  9. I'm with you, I'm laying the whole season on this match. Win and I'll hold hope, draw or lose and I'll give up looking at the top half of the table. Makes no sense to put so much on 90mins of football, but I can't help how I feel.
  10. Let's start the Xmas games early, 2020 themed: What rhymes with breath viral? 🤔🤔
  11. Perfect weather breaks out for Stoke's style of play.
  12. True. Could jump above them and Stoke. But we all know what affect the air up there has on our noses.
  13. Bristol City now scored one goal in 450 mins of football. We really are the gift that keeps on giving. And how the hell are they still 2pts ahead of us.
  14. Last 2 weeks, considering score on 80 mins, points I wouldn't have expected us to accumulate since the darkness descended: Millwall 2pts Brentford 1pt Rotherham 2pts Fair play to the team for pulling them put the bag. 5 bonus pts in my view. Sounds like a good haul. But, somehow, we're now 9 pts from automatic. A realistic target not so long ago. Potentially 2 wins from 3rd place, fair enough, but as elated as I am with a last second winner, just can't shake that feeling that this team doesn't have it in them to go the distance and compete back end of the season. Maybe the return of some of our "top" players in Dack and Trav will prove me wrong.
  15. You owned that jumper last time we scored a 98th min winner right? 😁😁
  16. https://www.premierleague.com/video/single/500456?TAG=On this Day 9 years ago they did exact same thing to us. Potshot from outside the box. Massive deflection, goal. 😡😡
  17. Well, you have 5 hrs left to find somewhere to be! 😏
  18. Have you watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix yet? Pretty interesting.
  19. Well, Fowler had a man sent off on 25th min, but still held out for a 0-0 draw. So, he has his first pt on the board, but team have scored 0 goals in 4 matches. Fair play to him for managing over in India. He must really love the sport. Fowler net worth is over 30 million, and as far as I can tell managers in that league get about £150k a year. So, he isn't doing it for the pocket money.
  20. Just discovered there's an ex-Rovers match about to kick off at 2pm. Robbie Fowler v Owen Coyle = East Bengal v Jamshedpur (Indian Super League) Fowler's team sit bottom of the table with stats - 3 matches, 0 goals scored, 7 goals conceded. 😮 Coyle has played 4 matches and only lost one. C'mon Robbie, let's break your duck and get a win on the board! 🤞
  21. Daunting as it is, we've scored 8 more goals than them in the league. Home v away records we've scored more than them and conceded less. And they got beat away a week ago by Luton, although I accept they had horrific injury problems. Not saying it's a gimme by any stretch, but we've surely got to go into games like this expecting the team to have a chance of picking up all 3 pts. Besides, we're due some luck against them. The deflected goal in 2011 still hurts me now. 2 goals up and cruising. One of the worst deflections I've ever seen against us. Just looked it up and realised it was Bradley Johnson that scored it. Hopefully, he does the same for us this time round.
  22. Despite us getting the standard nosebleed, and it feeling like groundhog day, I'm strangely quite positive still. That graphic came up showing us in the top 2 in the league for basically all attacking stats. We've looked way more solid at the back recently (Kaminski key to it all imo) We played some really nice stuff tonight. No end product, but it happens, mainly due to AA having a stinker/ball hogging. I've seen enough the last 2 weeks for me to keep the faith. I still think we have the ingredients to compete in the league this season. A win Saturday and tonight is all forgotten. And we really need to get over this hoodoo of not beating top half teams. 🤞
