I look at it like not necessarily World class attributes, but who has been on the pitch for Rovers whilst they were performing at a World class level, even if for a short period. For example, for at least 1 season, I'd argue Benni Mac, Bentley, Bellamy, and Roque were all performing at that level. If u picked them up and dropped them in any club in World, at that moment, I reckon they're on the teamsheet every week. (Including Barca, Juve etc) Certainly doesn't make them anywhere near World class level in general though. It's been a long time since we've seen anything like that on the pitch for us. But, almost 10 years in the Championship, I wouldn't expect to see it. We need to get back to the Prem to have a chance of seeing that kind of quality again in reality. Jordan Rhodes probably the player that's got me most excited in this Champ era. Just cos it was so much fun having someone in the team you knew would be banging in goals week after week.

Disappointed but not unhappy. Really enjoyed start of season so far. Carry on like this and it's gonna be a good year. Couple of signings it could be a great year. ??

Tbh since lockdown I've liked what I've seen of BB. I'm still holding out hope. And SG seems to have got some confidence back, reckon he'll chip in with a few goals this season. But neither are anywhere near consistent, and both have anonymous games. And to go up from this league you definitely need one of the following: 1. A strikeforce regularly performing over course of season 2. A solid, dependable defensive line Unless the new signings prove to be Worldies I can't see how we can nail either one of them.

For that to happen one or both of Brereton and Gallagher would have to come good in a big way. Which of them do you reckon is firing us to glory? ?

Archer did over before I think, and Woakes had done his 10. Was Rashid or Curran. Morgan made wrong choice. Curran a good death bowler. And as Gumboots said Rashid wasn't even bowling well.

It was theoretically exactly a year ago (1st game of season) the this thread started as Mowbray out. I actually think he's earnt a lot of goodwill since then, done some good stuff, improved the attack and playing style considerably. And if we signed at least 2 competent defenders tomorrow (LB + CB), then I would be fully on board, could see the progression, and he would have flipped me to firmly "Morbray In" in 12 months. Fair play for that. But......if we end this window with no, or extremely poor, defensive additions then I'm going to spontaneously combust. And my anger will be directed at him. And I'd make no apologies for it. He's a handsomely paid manager, operating at a fairly top level in World football, and has highlighted himself for 2 years that this squad needs defenders. It's put up or ship out time. If he doesn't fix this glaringly obvious issue then deserves all the criticism he gets. And the transfer saga's/budget/owner problems don't wash with me. I fail to believe we don't have the resources and structure in place to at least double the effectiveness of that back 4 before the window closes. I mean, you're starting at such a base level to begin with, it would be some feat if any addition failed to improve it.
