  1. Deflected goal too wasn't it. Or was that season before. I always feel like they beat when it's not really deserved. Seem to remember Lolley popping up with a 25 yard screamer out of nowhere one year, when we'd been well on top.
  2. So....far as I can tell there's only 2 teams in whole of Championship that haven't signed a single player, us and Reading. And Balaji's telling me the "future looks bright"!! Any chance he can point out where. I'm not seeing much light amongst the gloom. Feels more like a total eclipse tbh.
  3. Less than 24hrs after K-Hod's polite request and there are posters at it again. I don't understand why some of you can't discuss transfers in and out without making it a personal attack on other members, or the messageboard itself. This will be 2 polite requests- So, pretty please, with a cherry on top, cut the crap out! I'm fairly sure 3rd time we'll be going a different route. Would be nice if we didn't have to start a season putting fans in the sin bin though. 🀞
  4. Feels like a fair price to me. At the moment it will be the largest fee for any player in the Championship this window, albeit with a few weeks to go. Championship Transfers 21/22 And a similar comparison the season before was Callum Wilson to Newcastle for 20 million. But he was tried and tested in the Prem already, and I assume had a few years left on contact. I think 15 million was about par for me. Any lower very disappointing, any higher would have been a great result.
  5. ??? πŸ€”πŸ€” What, like Paul Scholes? When you are the underdog playing the big boys (City, Liverpool, Man U etc) with their high backlines, I think he will be a great outlet for you. Ball over the top on the break, his pace will get him in, and he is clinical in those situations. However, when you are up against the Crystal Palace/West Ham types, and you do your possession based tactics, not sure how well he will perform there. Link up play isn't brilliant, and he often gets frustrated and tries potshots from 30 yards, when laying it off to the winger is by far the better option.
  6. Yeah, that's more how I saw it. It was more if he had a bit of anticipation and speed, he could have maybe got there before it got narrow. But to say miss of the season. Bit much.
  7. Idiot Merson called it a candidate for miss of the season on SS. Harsh on Diaz that.
  8. You know how they say it's friendlier up north...... they lied! πŸ˜‰ Surely this loan instead of sell ruse has been spotted before and outlawed somehow. Or no one would do deals with us again because we dont keep our word. Either way, think a lot of us would take a good slice of money and some decent loans from a Premier club. Pointless having an unhappy, sulky player for a year then losing on a free anyway imo. Don't know what you have to offer on that front. But used to be a Champ Manager transfer legend so try me. I'll send a carrier pigeon on for you to Pune Palace. πŸ˜€
  9. Wish I felt that way. Yesterday, I was living life believing they'd written us off, forgotten about us, and we would forever be a loss making tax write off they hid in their vast accounts somewhere. It was a reality I had come to terms with. Today, I'm confronted with the narrative that the current setup is actually them remaining "fully supportive and totally committed to the club at all levels". Not only that, but they believe "The future looks bright......". This new reality will probably take me the full weekend and copious amounts of alcohol to even start getting my head round. I'm going to spend that rest of this afternoon contemplating what brand and strength of alcohol might help me start feeling Balaji's "...renewed sense of hope and optimism." I've a funny feeling whatever potion I need doesn't get sold over the counter.....
  10. What's the number? Infinity. πŸ€”
  11. Not watching today's match I assume.
  12. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Brereton Diaz 4. 16th 5. Fulham
  13. You know you've got problems when you're relying on Rovers to bring some joy to life. God help us all. 😧😧
  14. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate it. No apologies necessary. If it helps you getting it out, that's good, but also your story might just help others out there. If we don't speak about these things, we're often destined to repeat the cycles. And no-one should have to go through what you've experienced. Good luck man. Keep fighting the fight. Keith Treacy has mainly told his story with the aim of helping professional footballers. But it's even got us plebs focusing on a very important societal issue. Just shows that being brave enough to speak out can have a positive affect. All the best to all of you Rovers out there, I wish health and happiness on you and your family and friends. Condolences for all those that departed too soon.
  15. Yeah, maybe timescale a bit out, more like 18 months to 2 years. But not sure when showing concern for the team for the upcoming season started deserving abuse. Argue the toss, sure, but just name calling. Nah. But I suppose that's the toxic nature of Twitter.
  16. So which one are you? A bellend or a t**t? πŸ€” Perhaps we need a poll. πŸ˜‚
  17. Very sad tales, and condolences and RIP to both individuals. No ages for life to end. Don't want to pry and open up wounds - (feel free to tell me to piss off) - but were spirits the main cause? We've got quite a bit alcoholism in my family, and I like a good drink. But mainly beer and wine. In my head that's way more manageable than the 40% proof stuff. But I've always wondered if I'm deluding myself. It seems Keith's problem was the hard stuff too.
  18. It's coming home, it's coming home... ....rugby league's coming home!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ It won't. We'll bottle it and cancel.
  19. Second time in a week I've been proud of a losing England team. After that fantastic innings by Pakistan, the old England would have buckled under scoreboard pressure, and been embarrassingly skittled. But not this new breed. They took it on and believed all the way. I swear there's been a shift in mindset across most of our national sports. We don't fear anyone anymore. Win or lose, we're comfortable taking the opponent on. All except Rugby League imo. We're still in awe of those Aussies in that code. And they have had that notch of quality above us for a long time now.
  20. I suppose factually he was correct Mike. They definitely aren't here anymore. So it wasn't a lie....more an extremely twatty thing to say. And there's been many of them. Can't wait to see what gems we get this season. πŸ™„
  21. No doubt. In an alternate universe he's behind bars for the best part of a decade.
  22. For comparison purposes, this week UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping was punched on the street in New Orleans. His reaction? To laugh in the guy's and face and walk off. Suppose that's probably the difference between a true champion and a journeyman. Although Bisping does admit there would have been a different result in his younger days.
  23. Break it down though Dreams. The guy bumped into Shilling (who took a step to the right to try and avoid him, wasn't one of those sticking the shoulder in). They bump, big deal, Schilling is walking off, not interested, happy to carry on his day. Then the guy clearly says something to him, so he turns back. If you look closely the guy then squares up and does a flex twitch, intended to make someone flinch. Probably a move he's done before to great hilarity, to try and embarrass. Schilling's response to such a move is to instantly drop him. But that was strike 3 if you like. Schilling has twice attempted to avoid a conflict previously. Hey, I'm not saying it's right, and Schilling is certainly no angel. There is also footage of him attacking a homeless guy recently, which he claimed was necessary. πŸ€” Maybe I've just spent too much time in the past dealing with a certain type of character in bars, but now knowing he's ok, I struggle not to chuckle at it. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Sue me!!
  24. An update on this story that no-one cares about! Royal AM refused to play any of their 3 playoff games. I particularly enjoyed this team going crazy after scoring a goal in an empty net......in an empty stadium:
  25. Not strictly boxing, but a lesson in being careful who you bump into at a bar, and then square up to. Cos sometimes they turn out to be an ex MMA champion: Gotta say, I'm fairly split on this one. Schilling should be fully aware his fists are far more deadly than your average joe on the street and thus, shouldn't be chucking them around willy nilly. But this guy looks like a standard bar clown that is the scourge of many of us just trying to enjoy a night out. We all know the type, thinks their antics are a riot and everyone is just loving their presence, when really they're just ruining everyone's night, and most are hoping they piss off soonish. Can't say I'm shedding a tear over him taking a quick 10 second nap. (He's perfectly ok btw, but is threatening to sue).
