Not strictly boxing, but a lesson in being careful who you bump into at a bar, and then square up to. Cos sometimes they turn out to be an ex MMA champion: Gotta say, I'm fairly split on this one. Schilling should be fully aware his fists are far more deadly than your average joe on the street and thus, shouldn't be chucking them around willy nilly. But this guy looks like a standard bar clown that is the scourge of many of us just trying to enjoy a night out. We all know the type, thinks their antics are a riot and everyone is just loving their presence, when really they're just ruining everyone's night, and most are hoping they piss off soonish. Can't say I'm shedding a tear over him taking a quick 10 second nap. (He's perfectly ok btw, but is threatening to sue).

Summer transfer window 2021.

Steady on now. It works 2 ways yeah. Rovers have paid him millions over the last few years. Have given him valuable game time to help his progression. The fans, in general, have been amazingly patient and given him a lot of backing. The grand result is that we've seen very little return on that investment, both financial and emotional. Now that is probably for a variety of reasons- injury problems, not being trusted, being played in odd positions, a poor outdated manager, a crisis of confidence etc etc- but it could easily be argued that he's been a spoke in our wheels. The rest of your post makes some very valid and sensible points. Just think a comment like this, on a Rovers messageboard, is not doing you any favours. You haven't been here for the last 3 years that we've all been willing him to succeed. -
That's a year or so before the injury. Rumour was it was lined up for the January window, and then Dack got injured just before Xmas. Stands to reason they could have come back in for him though. We just never had it confirmed past rumours on here.

Interesting story happening in South Africa in the equivalent of our Championship trying to get into the top league. As far as I can tell Royal AM finished top of league on 51pts versus 2nd place on 50 pts, and celebrated promotion. The league authorities then decided the 2nd place team's opponent in a loss back in January hadn't fielded the right amount of U23 players and retrospectively awarded the 3 pts to them, thus making them league winners, and putting Royal AM in the playoffs. Royal AM have tried to fight it in Court, been ruled against. They turned up to their first playoff game today - players, bus, coaching staff etc- but then all got in their vehicles and pissed off before kickoff. Ref blew the whistle and Chippa Utd were awarded 3-0 win. Really odd. Why not just play the game AND still continue to fight it in Court. You might win and then it would become a moot point. All a bit of a shambles. -
Looks sharp doesn't he. Both been poor, but he's twice the player SG is. Should be ahead of him on the team sheet every time.

Silas replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
And, if it's what I think you're referring to, the result is there's a topic now running on the issue. So.......no reason that couldn't happen here. It's not meant to be "them vs us" Stuart, it's just some people trying to keep the theads on track for the benefit of the readers. And if your big gripe is, the death of 96 football fans was briefly mentioned on a football fan site, in a thread about football, I'm genuinely a bit taken aback by the outrage. -

C'mon Stuart, threads often take slight tangents. It's when it goes on too long, and gets out of hand we tend to put a lid on it. Feels like that time's arrived. -

I wasn't opening up a debate. If you continue to make personal comments about posters, you will receive a ban, whether you return afterwards is your choice. -

There's some topics the mods might give a little understanding and leeway to as they cover particularly sensitive topics. This is the transfer thread people! If we can't speak to each other civilly in here, there's real problems. A few friendly warnings have been issued ( including JB suggesting some people use the ignore function yesterday). We're past that stage now. Anyone who continues to attack other posters personally, (in the sodding transfer thread! 🤷♂️), don't be surprised when you receive a ban. We're better than this right. 🤔 -
In the last 25 years, Wales have got as far as us, as many times as us, in major tournaments. i.e. 1 semi final! Our last 3 competitive games v Scotland reads - 1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss. We're hardly the world beaters we think we are sometimes. And knowing our special talent of bottling it in Tournaments when we're expected to win, I envisage a dodgy VAR penalty and sending off, a Scotland win, and Nicola Sturgeon to spontaneously combust in the corporate bar at Wembley............So, every cloud I guess.. 🤷♂️

A little dramatic. I think that's what gives me hope with this squad. We aren't a 1 or 2 player team. We don't have to do front page scans of Rooney or Beckham's metatarsal. It's mental remembering that if u think about it. We were pinning all our hopes on 1 player out of 11. The odds formula is horrific.

Yeah, Grealish all day long over Lingard. Assuming he's over the injury. I'm just not convinced by Sancho in an England shirt, although I always caveat that with I haven't seen much of him in Bundesliga. Forgot about Watkins, he's looked very good recently. Tin hat on, but I'd have Lingard over Rashford in a heartbeat at the moment. Talk to any United fan and they'll say MR has been off it for ages. Burnt out? Carrying an injury? Distracted by off field issues? Take your pick. But he certainly isn't performing like the player he was a year or 2 ago. Perhaps I'm just a sucker for a comeback story, but I think JL had a lot to offer us this tournament, and had earnt a place in the squad. Bit gutted for him, as it could well have been last chance saloon. Shame.

I'm fairly disappointed with this tbh. I thought the one thing Southgate shouted about when he got the gig was that it would all be about form, not just the usual suspects. I think the exact opposite of the above tweet. In 2021, Jesse has been one of the best performing English midfielders. (I'd probably put him 3rd behind Foden + Mount). Why shouldn't that earn him a place in the tournament. And if we end up chasing a game with 20 mins to go, and we all look at the bench for someone to come on and change the game, and fail to see viable options, I'm going to be extremely pissed off. I reckon he'd be perfect for such an occasion.

Rashford had an absolute stinker in the final tonight. It's only 1 game, but he has been inconsistent for a bit, and I'd be disappointed if he's a mainstay in the team this tournament.
-
I seem to remember you disagree, but I'd like Grealish in for Sterling. Scare the hell out of teams that attack. Use Raheem the last 20/30 mins, his pace against a tiring defence more effective. I just wanna get Grealish in the team basically, really rate him. Don't think Southgate will though, too maverick for him.

This is such a telling stat. Glad it's not all in my head. You doubt yourself sometimes. I swear we could all become millionaires if we just bet on the other team every time Rovers get within 3pts of top 6. -
Other football league 2020/21 season
Silas replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
True, but they are worth about $200 million together. Not sure it's a show that's going to make a significant boost in earnings. Feels like a passion project. Seems like they're really trying to connect with the locals: "Reynolds and McElhenney have already endeared themselves to the North Wales town with donations to foodbanks, delivering gin to local pubs and paying to convert a disabled fan’s bathroom." And apparently Rob has learnt the Welsh national anthem quite accurately. Good stuff, yeah, good luck to them. I'll probably watch. -

I really can't get my head round this one. What do these multimillionaire successful actors want with a club that plays a sport they don't know, thousands of miles from where they live. 🤔🤔 But I think I kind of like it. With all the crappy owners out there in all levels of football, I hope these 2 turn out to be good ones, and good luck to the Wrexham fans, hopefully they're in for a hell of a ride. Can't wait to see Blake Lively having pie and gravy in the stands. -
Chelsea fans will blame a loss on Timo Werner.

I really wish he'd stop telling me it's not 1995. Do you see people wandering the streets listening to Oasis on their Sony Discman's Tony?! It's insulting that he thinks we're stuck in some sort of timewarp. I think most Rovers fans are reasonable and fully aware of the club's current standing in the football heirarchy. And the form we showed in the 2nd half of the season would be deemed unacceptable by pretty much any of the 92 football clubs, regardless of what they might have been doing quarter of century ago. His deflection tactics don't wash with me. He's always desperate to talk about the past or the future, because both can be manipulated. How about we deal with the present Tony, the here and now. Because that picture is looking grim as hell.

He's just a little pest, constantly buzzing around being a nuisance, trying to slap balls out of scrum half's hands. Makes me chuckle. I flicked over last weekend and saw he launched himself into a ruck like a human cannonball. 😂😂 An inch or so the wrong way and it's probably a red now, but you can't argue with his commitment. Leaves it all out on the pitch.

Love watching Faf de Klerk play. I'll be hoping he gets squashed in the Lions tour though. Will no doubt boss us.

Sorry, collateral damage. You've been caught by the shrapnel once people crossed the line and started calling each other names. Note to people: Please act civilly and stop calling each other names and then DeeCee won't be left wondering where posts have disappeared to. -

Actually gave me a chuckle. Well, good luck in your quest to conquer Mordor or whatever the hell it is you're doing. I don't think I have the energy, inclination, or intellect to solve the riddles. 😜 -
