  1. Lot of manpower and money to sort though. Just change the rules for rest of season. Double squads to 50, include all the u23's etc. If you don't field a team it's a 3-0 loss. Same rule for everyone. People scream it's unfair if a club has a covid outbreak, but it's also the same for injuries. It's unfair on us to lose Dack for 2 years, Liverpool Van Dyke a year etc But you've just got to play the cards your dealt sometimes. The top 2 divisions could definitely cope with that format. League 1 and 2 I'm not so sure.
  2. Two of their best players in Wilson and ASM pick up knocks and surprise surprise, they have a covid outbreak. "Can we please postpone the game till we've spent 100 odd million on new signings guv?" This is getting ridiculous now, teams are clearly abusing the system. They either need to do a complete circuit breaker stop to all football or put some hard rules in place to stop clubs manipulating things in their favour (which every club will do given the chance).
  3. Well this is a novel way for football to ruin my Boxing Day. Here was me thinking a teamsheet including Keith Andrews and Jason Roberts had been the peak.
  4. MOTM awards aren't given out at HT. That player might score two own goals and get sent off in 2nd half. (Highly likely if it's Shane Duffy). When the final whistle goes, if Tony's season performance has been excellent I'll give him the deserved praise and take back/swallow my previous criticism. I really hope he has me eating words come May. So far, so good. Let's hope it continues.
  5. Do you think you're gonna find many fans that don't back a manager in 3rd position? Not likely is it, but I have a feeling that's not the aim. P.S. You had to scroll so far because no one had yet come to the thread to congratulate Mowbray on the great job he's currently doing (although many had in the match thread). Oddly, your post reigniting the thread didn't do that either. πŸ€”
  6. Just heard on radio today that Nike has bought an NFT company because they are planning on expanding to Zuckerberg's crazy metaverse. So, let me get this straight, the kids are going to be asking for money to buy trainers that are never going on their feet because they don't exist. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ My child spends money on that crap I swear to God they're walking to the shop on bare feet.
  7. You haven't met my loved ones! πŸ˜†
  8. Benfica probably biggest winner and Liverpool biggest loser. Shambles.
  9. Can I have 15m in January please and loan him back to us till end of season. Yeah, I know that won't work for the desperate teams, but there's plenty teams out there on nothing seasons that could sensibly do that to build for next year. Everton, Leicester, Crystal Palace, Villa etc. And that's still a good deal for them with his age, following in Chile, shirt sales etc. Tell his agent, that's the deal, go and find the club that fits the bill best, he then knows he's sorted Premier football for himself next season, and he can have a last 6 month crack trying to get us up there with him. Everyone's a winner. If Carlsberg did transfer deals.
  10. Really open, honest, and sensible response that. Can't argue with any of it. His demeanor seemed different than usual. Maybe because the pressure is off a bit with the team high up the league he's not on the defensive all the time. It felt like he was including the fans for once rather than talking down to them.
  11. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Exactly what happened. Because we can bash them around a bit in One Day and 20/20, we arrogantly thought we'd show them how good we are at batting. Take the bull by the horns. The bull then gored us up the backside. πŸ™„ Awful decision.
  12. No problem, noted. It was just an expression of surprise. But if u don't like it, I won't do it to you.
  13. We must have played Stoke every match for his first 18 months at Rovers then. πŸ€”
  14. Really?! They spawned a goal that was offside, had 2 hand balls, and a foul on a player. Literally 4 offences. Unreal. And Ched Evan's is a total bellend, but we knew that already. I wanted to see Mitrovic score a winner in the 94th min, and do a lap of Deepdale screaming in the home fans faces. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
  15. Well picked. Good management that from TM too. No messing, straight off, on a yellow, and arguably the best player at the club. I knock him often enough, but impressed by the swift action there. πŸ‘
  16. See you in the New Year Daniel. Xmas wishes to you and the family. πŸŽ…
  17. Shearer would have been proud of that.
  18. Wish this commentator would quit emphasising how bad Peterborough have been away this season! 🀬🀬 Every new damning stat just makes me think one thing.
  19. It's gonna be goals, goals, goals. Our 5 matches against them this century have seen 26 goals scored. Despite the fact that Posh have only scored in one of their last 5 away matches, (and that was against fellow relegation spotters Hull), we all know they'll notch against us. Would love to say it will be a comfortable 3-1 win, but I'm thinking more a 3-2 win with a very nervy last 10 mins. We never do it easy.
  20. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.joe.co.uk/amp/sport/cricketer-azeem-rafiq-drink-red-wine-as-a-15-year-old-300338 Thanks that has helped clear it up. I see it in this article too. I'm just not happy with religion being injected into this unnecessarily, when it sidelines the real issues. I notice he doesn't seem to mention it at all in his testimony. The chair does though: β€œ15 and you were a Muslim?” replied the DCMS chair once again. And most telling is the final comment in the article from AR: β€œLike I said, I regret that massively but again, it has no bearings on the things that I was called." Yeah, what he was called. The elephant washers, the Kevin's, the p word, the affect it might have had on his career, and just as importantly, on his general life and mental health. As I'm typing this I'm watching a recording of the Last Leg, and I note they cover the wine incident without mentioning his religion at all. Adam Hills: "That is not banter. Standing around whilst stuff like that happens and not calling anyone out on it is not ok." πŸ‘πŸ‘ Yeah, regardless of what idol you worship. Bravo to them. They always get it right.
  21. Why do you 'hope' that? Quite an odd turn of phrase that. No, I would never do that to anyone regardless of their ethnicity. Kind of cuts out the middle man right, just being a decent human being. (And why have you even brought ethnicity into it, we were on religion a minute ago. Leaping from Muslim to Asian and back to Muslim in 3 sentences is ignorant beyond belief) Why? Because IF it turns out Azeem Rafiq is a regular drinker of alcohol, his religion has absolutely no bearing on the original story of the wine. UNLESS the truth turns out to be that it was that particular incident that has led him down that path in his life. But that's a hell of a leap at this stage.
  22. This story gets more and more confusing by the day. Genuinely don't know what to believe anymore. But modern life is a bit like that now isn't it. Difficult to wade through the BS and get to the truth. He allegedly is also a big gambler that has amassed rather large debts. None of this changes the serious issues of the way he has been treated over his career. Just you, and others, seem to be heavily focusing on the Muslim aspect. Would it be ok if a Christian 15 year old was pinned down and force fed wine? πŸ€” If I had a teenage child have that happen to them I'd be raging. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous intoxicants in modern society imo. Far moreso than the ridiculously illegal marijuana.
  23. Talksport whilst having my lunch: Jim White: "After travelling around the World, and doing various different manager's jobs, Steve Kean has decided Academy football is the one for him." Trevor Sinclair: "Yeah, it's really refreshing Jim to see a manager step down and get involved in the important Academy structure." πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Aye, that's what's happened lads. SK has definitely 'chosen' to come back the UK and go in at that level of football. These lot are too much. I thought it would make me madder, but tbh their level of bullshittery is just making me chuckle. Special talent for applying lipstick to a pig.
  24. Nah, it was a dig at Jackanory's profile. Fortress Ewood is the one and only true supporter. The rest are pretenders. Get with the program. Just need another 20k like him and we're laughing. I think that's the message.
  25. Weak 2nd half, Southgate out!!
