  1. The refs reacted with emotion rather than using their heads. (Seems VAR didn't get involved, 4th official on side called it.) Just like the ref admitted he did with Gomez I believe afterwards. Said he saw how bad the injury was and sent Son off unfairly. Awful injury for poor Harvey just when he was breaking in the 1st team. Good luck to him on the recovery. But I'd struggle to make a case for that being a yellow, never mind a red.
  2. Yeah, felt like it right. Groundhog day. We could say that about a dozen games a season last few years. Clearly looking good isn't translating to points. 😥😥 Sad times. And this is where we're at, just waiting for the inevitable. I genuinely don't believe there will be another manager in all the football leagues that has survived so many dismal troughs. Say 10 game spells, will there be any other managers with such a low pts per game % repeated so many times that is still in a job. 🤔
  3. Exactly 2 years back in the TM thread there's people calling us "embarrassing" and "cringey" for saying it was time to go. I would love those people to explain to me how Rovers have benefitted in any way from having him here these last 24 months. Zero progression. Imagine where we could be if a new manager had come in then. I refuse to believe we could possibly be in a worse place, and am fairly confident there would have been significant improvement in that time.
  4. Interactive prediction league with a speedboat as final end of season prize....🤔
  5. One of my favourite characters from any show. RIP. Omar, Ari Gold, and Mike Milligan (Fargo) probs my top 3.
  6. The early century England with Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney would probably have limped to a 0-0 draw after that 1st half.
  7. Almost the youngest squad in the league according to this at average age of 23.9 years: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/startseite/wettbewerb/GB2/saison_id/2021/plus/1 Only Barnsley lower at 23.6, then Peterborough next at 24.2. I'm all for getting away from the days of useless oldies like Murphy and Etuhu, but we've surely gone too far in the other direction. Particularly if we end up the wrong end of the table. Kids might ride the crest of a wave and do well if competing in the top 10. Different matter if we're in the crap and battling for safety.
  8. Remember it. Thought you were being overly pessimistic. ☹
  9. Still, our league seems to be by far the most significant drop. Prem = 1.5 bill, 1.36 bill, 1.1 bill 27% drop Champ = 215 m, 74 m, 35 m 84% drop League 1 = 5.7 m, 3.44 m, 2.1 m 63% drop League 2 = No figures. Even in Europe: Germany = 843 m to 353 m 58% drop Italy = 1.24 bill to 472 m 70% drop Spain = 1.35 bill to 226 m 83 % drop France = 734 m to 315 m 57% drop So, our league and La Liga appear to be Top of the Pops. Guess it makes sense as both league's spending was probably out of sync with the income each produced. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transferbilanz/wettbewerb/GB2
  10. I didn't realise how much Championship spending had dropped till I just heard on the radio: 19/20 = £180 million 20/21 = £70 million 21/22 = £35 million (with a few hours to go) Massive reduction in spending, regardless of the pandemic. I'm guessing that's full season so still January to factor in, but still.
  11. 😂😂 You wrote Bucket instead of Buckley. Pail of water. Lose their edge a bit when we have to go through all this. 😆
  12. Yep, me too. Surprised how annoying that is. Better than early when they tell you about goal in advance mind.
  13. Scroll down maybe? Is there not a blue buy button bottom of left side? Edit: Or change screen size so all text is showing.
  14. Deflected goal too wasn't it. Or was that season before. I always feel like they beat when it's not really deserved. Seem to remember Lolley popping up with a 25 yard screamer out of nowhere one year, when we'd been well on top.
  15. So....far as I can tell there's only 2 teams in whole of Championship that haven't signed a single player, us and Reading. And Balaji's telling me the "future looks bright"!! Any chance he can point out where. I'm not seeing much light amongst the gloom. Feels more like a total eclipse tbh.
  16. Less than 24hrs after K-Hod's polite request and there are posters at it again. I don't understand why some of you can't discuss transfers in and out without making it a personal attack on other members, or the messageboard itself. This will be 2 polite requests- So, pretty please, with a cherry on top, cut the crap out! I'm fairly sure 3rd time we'll be going a different route. Would be nice if we didn't have to start a season putting fans in the sin bin though. 🤞
  17. Feels like a fair price to me. At the moment it will be the largest fee for any player in the Championship this window, albeit with a few weeks to go. Championship Transfers 21/22 And a similar comparison the season before was Callum Wilson to Newcastle for 20 million. But he was tried and tested in the Prem already, and I assume had a few years left on contact. I think 15 million was about par for me. Any lower very disappointing, any higher would have been a great result.
  18. ??? 🤔🤔 What, like Paul Scholes? When you are the underdog playing the big boys (City, Liverpool, Man U etc) with their high backlines, I think he will be a great outlet for you. Ball over the top on the break, his pace will get him in, and he is clinical in those situations. However, when you are up against the Crystal Palace/West Ham types, and you do your possession based tactics, not sure how well he will perform there. Link up play isn't brilliant, and he often gets frustrated and tries potshots from 30 yards, when laying it off to the winger is by far the better option.
  19. Yeah, that's more how I saw it. It was more if he had a bit of anticipation and speed, he could have maybe got there before it got narrow. But to say miss of the season. Bit much.
  20. Idiot Merson called it a candidate for miss of the season on SS. Harsh on Diaz that.
  21. You know how they say it's friendlier up north...... they lied! 😉 Surely this loan instead of sell ruse has been spotted before and outlawed somehow. Or no one would do deals with us again because we dont keep our word. Either way, think a lot of us would take a good slice of money and some decent loans from a Premier club. Pointless having an unhappy, sulky player for a year then losing on a free anyway imo. Don't know what you have to offer on that front. But used to be a Champ Manager transfer legend so try me. I'll send a carrier pigeon on for you to Pune Palace. 😀
  22. Wish I felt that way. Yesterday, I was living life believing they'd written us off, forgotten about us, and we would forever be a loss making tax write off they hid in their vast accounts somewhere. It was a reality I had come to terms with. Today, I'm confronted with the narrative that the current setup is actually them remaining "fully supportive and totally committed to the club at all levels". Not only that, but they believe "The future looks bright......". This new reality will probably take me the full weekend and copious amounts of alcohol to even start getting my head round. I'm going to spend that rest of this afternoon contemplating what brand and strength of alcohol might help me start feeling Balaji's "...renewed sense of hope and optimism." I've a funny feeling whatever potion I need doesn't get sold over the counter.....
