  1. Bit of a pattern isn't it. Teams either hit form just before they play us, or failing that, they certainly find it during the match.
  2. Exactly, at least nodding across if it flies off at a bad angle, it might set up a late arriver to the box. 😂 Seriously though, he gets up to pretty much all of them, so frustrating, could be such an asset, particularly if practised in training, and then our players would anticipate it.
  3. Can someone teach Wharton how to nod a ball back across goal. Such a tall lad and wastes opportunities going for goal when the percentages are minimal.
  4. Hope Darragh's head is ok? 😀
  5. Either way, he seemed totally unaware of what was behind him, and the ball in was quite central.
  6. Who was Wharton looking for there?! His imaginary friend.
  7. Not going to argue with the lineup. Despite being low in the table and on bad form, I'm fully expecting Swansea to come at us hard, and we'll be on the backfoot. Particularly as we don't play with the ball now anyway. Let their possession tactic run out of steam, and then we've got good options from the bench to steal it. Not a bad plan for this fixture. Obviously, just ends up looking stupid if we're 2-0 down after 25 mins.
  8. Not excited to see the 2 new signings then. Always gives me a bit of a buzz, particularly the hype around Giles.
  9. I would normally get mad at players earning 100's of thousands a week acting like this, but tbh I can't blame Bale on this one. He's basically watching someone go through exactly what he's had for years, and can't do anything but laugh about it. Some of the press are painting it as Bale "laughing at" Hazard. Don't see it that way. Reckon he's laughing with him. He's thinking, yep, been there mate, I feel you.
  10. Yeah people, sorry to be a pain, but whilst there is information online about this, i note it's all from websites overseas. So i suspect there may be some form of injunction on it in this Country. Even though most people know who it is, best just to refer to him as that Everton player on the forum please. Thanks.
  11. As someone that is generally very much against 'cancel' culture, this is a situation I can fully get behind. In a matter of days MG has had his Nike deal binned, announced he will not train or play for Man Utd or England, had most of his teammates shun and unfollow him on social media, got his shirts open to free exchange in the club shop, and is now being removed from computer games. I think the big factor in this case is that we all have an amount of evidence to view and listen to that often isn't available when accusations are made. Playing devil's advocate, some could still claim that the evidence hasn't been verified yet, and it is still up to a Court to decide upon a guilty verdict and not the Court of public opinion. But the legal proceedings could go on for a year plus, and it doesn't feel right to have 8 year olds still banging in goals on a PlayStation, and the message that gives them. Hopefully, this sends a strong message to all about what is deemed unacceptable in society, and the swiftness of action against those that cross the threshold.
  12. He was acquitted and overturned at retrial. Not making a defence of him, just in strict legal terms he's now declared innocent. Obviously, will be very different situation if Greenwood is declared guilty, serves time, and then a club decides to sign him. If the current charges hold up, that club would be signing a confirmed rapist.
  13. Wasn't so long ago some of us were willing to swap him for Tony. I'll hold my hands up and admit i was. Now he's gone to a rival though, i fully agree with you, he's absolute bobbins. 😂
  14. If it was Jansen, I'll be broken.
  15. Sounds like some hipster pub with a thatched roof. They'd sell their own mead in tankards.
  16. Having them on here does not mean they are condoned. Quite the opposite, it's highlighting an issue that needs addressing. No point sticking our heads in the sand. And maybe our fans seeing things like that might help encourage them to welcome JR back to the team and cheer him on the pitch, rather than the expected minority boos. Turn a negative into a positive and all that.
  17. Yeah, you're right, makes no sense looking now. Guess i was thinking cos we never have a pot to piss in on transfers, but used to chuck wages round like confetti, but that's why we're 200 mill in debt right. I remember now. Think I've just been hoping for the full model (Prem in particular) to change for a while. Those ridiculous fees it got to of 150/200 mill, no club in the World can afford that. So Spanish ones all go bust. Agent fees too. Yes, they'd still get a cut of the new contracts, but hell of a lot less than transfer cuts. So, no incentive to push players around. Maybe wouldn't benefit us individually, but got to be a more sensible future for football.
  18. Ha, and that's why it's all thoroughly depressing. I don't hate JR, whatever, hate the game and all that. Timing just sucks with 3.5 months of destiny to go. My only hope from the cloud is that this is future, death of big transfer fees, and players just hop from club to club and pick up a nice bonus instead. Would be a system to benefit a club like Rovers.
  19. And I'm going to tell every manager in the game what a little prick you've been. And I've been around since the dinosaurs pal, so i know everyone. Enjoy Bournemouth, cos you ain't getting a decent club after that. 👋👋
  20. I'm starting get the impression this signing hasn't impressed you Sparks. 😂 Says it all that this thread is over 48hrs old and we've only just got to 2nd page. Good luck to the lad though. Maybe he's a dark horse. He could shock us and write his name in history firing the club to promotion. I think the last attacker from Scotland I got excited about was Goodwillie. Oops. Still makes me chuckle when his name comes up on Soccer Saturday from some pub league. Hopefully I'm as wrong about this one!
  21. Exactly the word that came to my mind. They think they can have whatever they want, whenever they want it. Hopefully they'll make an example of him with a heavy sentence, send a message to the next few generations of multi millionaire teenage footballers.
  22. And Darragh doesn't get a look in for an Ireland team that got beat by Luxembourg last year. Doesn't always mean much.
  23. Wow, Butterworth score is brutal at moment. He's really struggling to make an impact in the 1st team.
  24. Surely you can stretch to position?
  25. This is information i was unaware of. And I've been here hating for a while. But he went on strike and refused to play no? Why need to do that if club was in on it? Or was that just spin?
