  1. Yeah, and that's why no one paid for his fights for 10 years. I'll give AJ a pass, as he did what needed to be done tonight. But of he continues with that style, he ain't gonna have many PPV punters in the future. And if he's so scared of Ruiz's power, then what's he gonna do with Wilder. He better start praying that Fury wins in Feb.
  2. Yahoo version of CVC Story Don't worry, you can get most things for free nowadays if you try hard enough.
  3. Archer 1 wicket of the 10. What's happened to the golden boy @matt83? I know he's still young and all that, but he doesn't seem to have kicked on much. Haven't watched much but did switch on last night to see them putting up stats of how much slower he is now compared to when he burst on the scene at the Ashes. I thought Darren Gough had gone over to help the young bowlers get better.
  4. It's not red button, it's on main Sky channel. In fact, at the moment, we are the ONLY football match that can be watched that day. No La Liga, no Serie A, no outer Mongolia division 2 on Eurosport. And with a lot of people off work already, sat twiddling their thumbs, it could well be the TV viewing figures will be the highest we've had since the Premier League days. Probably why the club has put this offer on. Not as a great Xmas deal for the fans to come to a local derby, but so it doesn't look awful on TV with large numbers round the World watching.
  5. This commentator ain't a big fan of Dack is he. He might as well own it and say: "That Dack's a bit of a mouthy prick." He's said everything inbetween.
  6. So, in your own opinion, Mowbray is currently overseeing the 2nd worst season in about 40 years. Yet, you still think he's the right man for the job and better than any other manager that could be appointed. And you think a lot of us need to get "a sense of perspective".
  7. I take absolutely no joy in being right. Was secretly hoping to be proved wrong. But turns out we are actually as crap as I feared we were. Anyway, 3 big points I suppose, and breathing space from the bottom 3.
  8. We've conceded 16 goals in our last 8 matches. Well and truly living up to our 2 goals against habit. As much as Barnsley look crap in paper - bottom of the league and all that- they had a shocking start, and have looked all right recently without actually winning. They've scored 12 goals in last 8 matches, and bagged a brace in 3 of last 4 matches. With all that factored in, and our defensive injuries, I can't see any way they don't score 2 at Ewood. So.....we're going to have to score 3 to win. And that's why I'm fed up with it all. We shouldn't be at home, against the bottom team, who haven't won in months, with me thinking the only way to bag 3 pts is to score at least 3 goals. It's wrong, and it's been going on for years. And despite being assured by the manager that the situation would be addressed, it hasn't, if anything it's got worse.
  9. Rog, you must be loving the Bill's season. Great so far. In other news, I see Garrett just got the longest ban ever (I think), indefinite, at least the whole of this season. For ripping the quarterbacks helmet off and smacking him over the head with it. Talk about a moment of madness. https://www.skysports.com/nfl/news/12118/11864502/myles-garrett-helmet-attack-cleveland-browns-star-to-make-his-case-to-nfl-on-wednesday
  10. Moot point really. Venkys would never apologise, or be contrite and accept their failures. One, because it's not really part of their culture I understand, and two, because they strike me as pretty arrogant and spoilt human beings. Besides, words are empty. Actions do the talking. Get us realistically competing for promotion to the Prem and my views might soften. But signing cheques off to prop up the club certainly isn't enough to earn my forgiveness. They created this mess, and are doing very little to rectify it. They're merely stopping us sinking further, halting the decline. Now way I'm going to be thankful or forgiving for that.
  11. Just been chatting to a West Ham supporter, and we noticed our similarities for this weekend: Both clubs 5 points off the relegation places Both clubs playing at home Both opponents appointed new managers today Both opponents haven't won a single away league match all season Both home teams have only won 1 of previous 4 H2H Me and him agreed, there's only one way this is heading.......... and it ain't with us enjoying a celebratory beer teatime Saturday!!
  12. By Google stats, if I cherry pick my own matches, our shots on target figures are: Charlton = 2 Fulham = 0 Cardiff = 2 Luton = 2 QPR = 2 Brum = 1 Total = 9 That's a shot at goal once an hour. 12 million spent in last few years on strikers. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17858209.tony-mowbray-confident-goals-will-soon-flow-rovers/ TM 24th Aug: "I'm not overly concerned.........it will be okay as long as we are having those efforts..........I am sure they will all score goals- it's still early in the season..........I will not be overly concerned whatever way it goes." 2 months later it's fairly obvious which "way" it's going Tone. You be sure to give us all a nod when the right time to be concerned pops up.
  13. Gallagher's movement is that bad it genuinely looks like he is the one marking the defender.
  14. Didn't though really, did he. Those extra 2 letters on the end make a hell of a difference for me. Found some random on the internet that I think explains the context quite well: https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/44469/usage-of-cowardly-and-coward "As to meaning differences (I've been dealing with usage), you would use cowardly if you weren't necessarily name-calling or venting; the term sounds more objective. You could quietly use it, without strong feelings. Coward, on the other hand, always connotes strong feelings. If you use coward as an adjective, I'm more likely to think you are name-calling or venting." Although, I am going to take a punt and guess that guy had no in-depth knowledge of Tony Mowbray's footballing style and tactics.
  15. Jesus Christ! How much of the pitch is Nyambe expected to cover?! The boy's gonna be pretty tired.
  16. Great bit of refereeing. Not just because the decision went for us, but because it was correct. Could see from 1st replay it was forward. What the hell was the video ref looking at? Maybe he had some money riding on the spread betting.
  17. We haven't beat Huddersfield in the last 6 attempts. (1 loss, 5 draws) With our injury problems and their new manager bounce, I see no reason that trend is going to be bucked this weekend. 3 of the last 4 matches between us ended 1-1. @Mercer 5-1 odds that score for your bottles of red. Stick it in a treble with England and New Zealand in the early rugby games, and your Sat night is paid for before the 3pm matches even kick off. ?
  18. Charlie getting taken apart a little bit for Scotland. The big Russian striker bullying him. No wonder Scotland are struggling if a 33 year old with a good set piece in him is the best they have at the back. Lost 4 on the bounce for first time in 15 years commentator just said.
  19. Really hope they can somehow get the Scotland Japan game played. Would be a real shame if a team was sent home without getting a chance to fight for it on the pitch. And it's also a cracking contest I want to view over the weekend with all decent football off.
  20. After watching the awful Blackpool game on TV tonight, had a quick look on one of their messageboards to get a feel for the reaction. Eerie how familiar the thread was. I felt right at home: "Every game is like groundhog day. Get into our shape and let the opposition have the ball. Then try and sneak a goal. Borefest." "There's no urgency from us and we lack any composure when we're in the attacking third." "All I can see is a team that are indoctrinated with the 'we must not lose' philosophy - as opposed to 'we can win'." "Should be getting much more out of this group of players. Sort it out Grayson." "This is a typical Grayson masterpiece - from 10 years ago. Opposition managers have seen it, beaten it time and time again. Grayson is a tactical dinosaur...." "It was in his pre-match interview. He said Bolton drew with Oxford, Sunderland, and lost unluckily to Portsmouth. He was validating a draw before the game even started. Mentality of a manager who's stood still while the game moved on." Must be something about old school managers running North West clubs.
  21. I had history with them before that over the Rhodes transfer. They were slagging both him and our club off, and I genuinely didn't get it. He'd acted professionally through it all, they were getting paid handsomely- record fee for them wasn't it - and they were acting like a bunch of spoilt brats. I likened it to Roque going to City. We weren't happy about it obviously , but none of us spat our dummies. We realised the fee was huge and it was a great opportunity for him. Anyway, for that, the relegation, and their general conduct over a good few years, I'm going to celebrate hard if they double drop.
  22. What?! Do you not remember them relegating us pretty much singlehandedly? They lost to crappy Bristol 4-0, and then put out such a woeful youth team that Arry's Brum beat them with 10 men. Sod them. I've been waiting for this revenge a good few years now. Can't wait to see them relegated to League 1, never to return. Yes, I'm still very bitter!!
  23. The start of your post just made me hear this. ?
