  1. Could be why there's a few from the NRL playing over here I guess.
  2. If RL players want more cash they can either switch Codes to Rugby Union, as some have, Jason Robinson and Andy Farrell being two examples, or bugger off to the NRL down under. So there is some kind of choice there.
  3. Just saw this about Martin Grainger http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/mail/s...-name_page.html
  4. Could have a run out in the Cup games, if he's going to get a start. Although with Hughes taking the Carling Cup seriously and putting out a full strength team, that might not be the case for Jansen.
  5. Definitely a change for the better. Liked the report as well
  6. Just can't understand why it's being played in Switzerland?!
  7. Some good answers to some of the questions on there
  8. Looks to be the way to beat Man.U, considering we "surprised" them with the 4-4-2 system at OT. Looks like ol' RFW tactics are slow in reacting to any surprise changes. Would be extremely funny if they missed out on Champs League at end of the season.
  9. Do think that ourselves and Charlton are quite similar, especially with what Philipl says. Although with the current form of both clubs more in our favour, and if we can keep it consistent, then I don't see why we can't come away with maximum points.
  10. tbh, I always thought that the Chelsea was going to be a right-off, considering the gulf in class of players. But coming back from 2-0 to level at the half, had a bit of optimism about the game, maybe nicking a draw. Obviously the second half put paid to that. But with us being the first team to put 2 goals past them this season, is no mean effort, even if they put 4 past us I still think that we are improving, although considering how we've been playing the last couple of seasons it's not hard to do and if we can keep playing to the same standard as we have the last few games then I don't see why we can't reach and stay in the heady heights of the top 10. Roll on the weekend and the Charlton game!
  11. I'd go along with that. Does seem like they're looking for excuses already, just in case we pull off a decent result against them
  12. And there's the rub, although hopefully the January window turns up someone, or someone comes through the ranks (Johnson?) so we can repeat the form we had in the second half of the season last year.
  13. A good win, despite against a non-Premiership side, and a good confidence boost. Hoping for a decent draw, maybe against one of the big-guns kid sides. Hoping we can carry the form into Saturday's game against Chelsea. Heck, we may even get a draw against them
  14. The Chelsea one, either a loss or a draw, especially as they'll be up for giving the next team they play in the Premiership a good hiding. The Charlton and Man City games we could possibly get decent results against as we are very similar. Arsenal, not really that impressive even if they do have Henry back. I think losing Viera has knocked them back a bit too much, and we could surprise them. Heck, if we can beat Man U at Gold Trafford and almost hold on against Liverpool (cheers ref!!!) then we can upset the Arse.
  15. And apparently put in a request for a transfer too.
  16. Have seen it quoted on various websites that Gravesen is on 95k a week at Real, and is about to be released by them too. But with the money he's on, if he doesn't take a serious pay cut I doubt anyone but Chelsea and Man U will pick him up. He would be ideal for us though, but don't see it happening. And I seriously doubt he'll go back to Everton, especially with their current league position, even though they have a first option buy back clause.
  17. Leeds are in good form at the moment, so this game could prove to be tricky. And depends if Hughes goes with a strong squad or lets some of the fringe players play. Of course I'm going to say a win for us, but it could be a close one.
  18. Although I have the fear of after losing the 100% start Chelsea will be wanting to get back on form, but if Everton can hold them to a draw then after the Old Trafford result, I don't see why we can't do something similar, if we play with a similar style of play. Otherwise it could be damage limitation. Although with Bellamy on the bench and Nelsen out it's going to be a tough one, but if we can stand up to the likes of Man.U, Liverpool and Chelsea and give a good account of ourselves then we're in for a good season. Could be (hopefully) a close game.
  19. Then I can't see why the EU are bítching about with the Premiership / Sky contract
  20. Living in the Midlands, and what with my job, I won't be able to make it up to Ewood much. But I have now just joined online as I do want to be apart of the BRISA and updated with the goings on.
  21. Makes me wonder why the EU are picking on the EPL, as they apparently haven't mentioned the fact that the French top division football coverage has gone to one bidder (Canal+)
  22. As far as I've read, it will be reduced money than previous TV deals, which won't please the "bigger" clubs. Although I'm hoping ITV will have improved their coverage, if they win it, especially after the last time they had it.
  23. When it's too late and they're playing Championship football again!?
