  1. As someone posted a while ago, stand still and we go backwards. I am concerned that we are going to waste any momentum from last year and that the powers that be have decided on maintaining the club, bobbing around lower/mid- table. Even in the pre Walker days, we spent many seasons challenging for the top positions. In the 6 years since 2012, we have never been remotely in contention....just saying...
  2. Suhail...the missing years!
  3. Maybe, Venky's have installed an arras...
  4. Suhail..Pasha...has he yet another name or have I missed something?
  5. ...and Himmler started out, as an altar boy! ( so did Agnew!)
  6. I still remember Cheston's "performance" in the supporters' meeting, when he was trying to field important questions about the role of the one in the shadows. Later, someone told me that Mr Non- Work Permit was actually in the shadows in the room next door to the meeting!
  7. Well, you know the problem with social media and "nasty pricks" lol...I dread to think what people are posting. Have you ever read the Rovers Facebook page? There are a few pearlers on that! My point is whether the player was signed by someone, totally unconnected with team affairs, as a vanity project, DESPITE what TM obviously required in other areas of the pitch.
  8. Either way, it is far from good.
  9. I think one point is what does it say about a manager, if he accepts "others" choosing players to sign. Another, perhaps more palatable, is about a manager making a big mistake in the transfer market.
  10. Blimey, I thought that was Woody Guthrie about Pretty Boy Floyd
  11. As damning indictments go......
  12. That's the same with so many incidents in a match to be fair. Many is the time that people have given me new detail the following day at work about a game I was at the previous evening. A long time ago, one of mine cried, when he got home and saw a recording of the infamous Diouf penalty incident in the Darwen End. Oh the injustice!
  13. Me too. Awful for 80 minutes, but there is something really satisfying, nay uplifting about seeing a Rovers team, willing to scrap for every single ball, backed by a raucous following and winnning right at the death.
  14. The most successful town football club in British history no less...
  15. I think that was the case though. My guess is that the wages on his last one were modified and part of the sweetener was the tangible prospect of another? Always a risk, give his age...but so far, so good...,(we are only in the first month of it lol)
  16. I agree re Conway...possibly Evans. But Bennett certainly seemed worth a new contract...and Graham's latest one seemed to be a condition of his previous one..i.e. after so many starts or something.
  17. And how long can they capitalise on the fact that fans of a former premier league club are just grateful not to have a manager, who is a **** with a team of mercenary ****s, who got us relegated to Div 3?
  18. What worries me is that such a policy could just see us hovering around 10th place or lower, season after season, having to start again every August, as good loan players return to their parent clubs, our older players get older/slower and the likes of Dack get sold. When is a good time to build on what we have, rather than merely stand still, consolidate (stagnate)? In this context the money splurged on Brereton defies credibility... We have a good nucleus around which to build and we should be doing it now...
