Before that, Darren Collier didn't delight, but, at least he only played a few games. John Butcher didn't inspire either.... Generally, we have been blessed with the likes of Sir Roger, Jim Arnold and Gennoe before Jack's money...

I do get your point and I know this is a personal decision. For what it is worth, I decided it is not about martyring myself, but about the actual difference a boycott makes at a given time. I judged there was little point to a boycott last year and so I got a half season ticket.....and I am glad I witnessed the promotion. However, even at Doncaster, I was mindful that we were celebrating a return to the very level that had sent us into angry despair back in 2012...

Agreed. To be honest, I felt a bit embarrassed that we didn't lay a glove on them really and we were on TV in front of the nation. Since the infestation, we have never been in contention. I think all but one of our seasons in the Championship have seen us finish in the bottom half of the table...and we have been in relegation trouble for three of those seasons. This is why I am resistant to the forgetful, "start again" analysis that focuses on the fact that we only came up last year...so we should be satisfied etc. Last year was merely an anaesthetic ,or an escapist trip away from Venky Hell....The summer will reveal so much, but let's not hold our collective breath.

Well, at least the club is in a strong position, as he signed a new contract last year until 2022...

In the circumstances of our finances, our position in the second tier, our well -known deficits in other areas of the pitch and BB's lack of proven experience, this signing was a real concern to me. Had we used that money differently, I am confident that we could have made the play- offs. Whether we would have been good enough to win them is another matter. Not sure whether Nuttall is any better though!
