The influence of Rovers in Blackburn

The most successful town football club in British history no less... -

I think that was the case though. My guess is that the wages on his last one were modified and part of the sweetener was the tangible prospect of another? Always a risk, give his age...but so far, so good...,(we are only in the first month of it lol) -

I agree re Conway...possibly Evans. But Bennett certainly seemed worth a new contract...and Graham's latest one seemed to be a condition of his previous one..i.e. after so many starts or something. -

And how long can they capitalise on the fact that fans of a former premier league club are just grateful not to have a manager, who is a **** with a team of mercenary ****s, who got us relegated to Div 3? -

What worries me is that such a policy could just see us hovering around 10th place or lower, season after season, having to start again every August, as good loan players return to their parent clubs, our older players get older/slower and the likes of Dack get sold. When is a good time to build on what we have, rather than merely stand still, consolidate (stagnate)? In this context the money splurged on Brereton defies credibility... We have a good nucleus around which to build and we should be doing it now... -
Thankyou to Membeds

Don't know about previous allusions to the way he left, but I would have misgivings... -

Pickering/Bentley/Santa Cruz or Berg/Byrom? -
I have been present in a couple of different situations, where Mr Waggott was challenged very strongly-but politely-about this. My own sense -opinion, for what it is worth,-was that he had made a public noise and was now finding it difficult to climb down. I would look out for it being removed for a one off game, perhaps, as one rung step down.... The fans' message has been loud, clear and consistent.

Subtle would have been to send people scurrying to google by calling him Charles V1 -
He comes across very well every time I hear him. He also says he knows how footballers think and this certainly seems to include the young turks like Dack!

To think I used to travel 60 miles for an early round Full Members Cup game! I am going again...but I know it will never be the same. It's funny how some happily berate fans for watching the match on TV instead. I confess to rather more resentment, when people chose to attend that Blackpool game, when there were hundreds of 'pool fans outside with us. Funny old world, as Jimmy Greaves would say...but that is what the Venky way of "respecting the Jack Walker leagacy" has delivered.. Happy New Year from a divided fanbase!
