  1. It is like trying to choose between Hitler and Stalin or Johnson and Trump. Pointless. Steele, Raya and Walton are all shit.
  2. But for too long Rovers defenders (and fans) have had to experience frequent unforced howlers that leave them feeling completely undermined. Compare Walton, Raya, Steele and Kean to the likes of Roger Jones, Jim Arnold, Terry Gennoe etc at the same league level. Just like the V's choice of managers, our choice of goalkeepers is yet another stark example of dumbing down, make do and mend. I am just sick of it.
  3. He means short sharp shock!
  4. The general pattern is for highly inexperienced novices, who are glad to get an opportunity and compliant. Coyle's managerial reputation was in tatters, long before he arrived here. There was a time, when we kept losing our managers to top-flight teams. That was only because we were very clever at recruiting them-Furphy, Lee, Smith, Kendall and Mackay were known, competent managers. Don was the only one, who did not get "poached". Compare that list with Kean, Coyle, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer etc.. Yet they keep asking us to believe that they want promotion. Bollux!
  5. What an ignorant, puerile response! Are you a Venky's employee or payee?
  6. Bygones are bygones, I'm afraid.
  7. Quite. So many appear to have re-written our history for the pre-Walker years and it serves as a reason for accepting the unacceptable. Since 2012, we have hardly even made the play-off positions in the 2nd tier. Going nowhere, then in reverse. Our last dip into the 3rd tier was largely an anaesthetic for our Venky disease, although it did create a feel-good factor for a while.. However, we pissed away the momentum. FOV!
  8. That is what is so galling. We all knew and we have known for at least two windows. Tony knew too....
  9. "Walton is shite. I could have done better with my hands in my pockets" ??
  10. Tony was plumbing the depths when he played him at Charlton...
  11. Completely, I'm afraid...
  12. Excellent, DB. You are wasted on here!.. Next, the blue and white man's burden....
  13. Rudyard Rovers, we are here... If you can tinker -and make tinkering your aim; If you can meet with disaster and disaster, Yet your tactics remain the same....
  14. "Move on. Get real!"
  15. A double whammy really. Sacking Big Sam, then replacing him with the inexperienced reptile- which had always been the plan, apparently.. When I was getting anxious about the prospect of the new ownership, I consoled myself in the knowledge that the emerging stewardship of the Walker "Trust" was taking us down anyway-certainly, within a couple of seasons. What a miserable nightmare this has been!
  16. Interesting. Most of the seasons in the so-called 80's dark times saw the Rovers in with a shout certainly until February. Hence Bill Fox's quote "We get promoted in February." The Venky's years in the second tier have all been like a Beckett play. No point, nothing happens.
  17. In the old days, we would bite the bullet, sell Dack and use a percentage of the fee to build a balanced squad. The heartbreaking sale of Tony Field allowed us to build a promotion-winning team. But that would take someone with the nous of Gordon Lee in the transfer market. Tony's transfer record is a huge worry for me. Even the purchase of Dack can't make up for the likes of Brereton and Gallagher and the woeful imbalance in the squad.
  18. Management issue: the defence is not fit for purpose. This has been a problem for several transfer windows.TM said emphatically that he, himself, knew it was a significant problem. It has not been addressed.
