  1. I agree, Stuart. Now to add the vinegar sponge... Did anyone else see the Waggott quote about 10th place at Christmas being a good show? This sums up my ongoing issue about managed decline. Our self inflicted (bordering on deliberate in my book) relegation experience has now allowed them to depict mediocrity as success. The trouble is that it plays on our natural sympathies with Tony and the players, who fought their way out of the third tier....
  2. He certainly lost a lot of credibility with that silly stunt. All the management speak in the world won't wipe away one jot of stupidity from the decision!
  3. I am starting to wonder whether it might be less about being clueless and more about arrogance, refusal to listen and join up the dots. He might have dug himself into a hole in India by overselling what he could do with attendances.... Lets hope he can develop some listening skills...quickly!
  4. Agree. I thought it was a bit embarrassing, to be honest. Hope it's not old fashioned weasel words before a big sale...Anyone remember C.R.Davis being quoted on attendances before the sale of Newton?
  5. Only the other day, he was saying that it (not sure exactly what) was feeling tight after coming on against Sheffield Utd...yet he still goes with Scotland...and plays! Bollux!
  6. "The emergence of Jason Lowe is the reason why Michel Salgado is not in the team.." Paul Agnew, Radio Lancashire interview, 2012
  7. Oh God, me too! And I can't repeat what we were all saying about Gordon Lee at the time either. Just over a year later we were all gutted when Gordon Lee, himself, left. I often think about Selhurst Park in '89...If anyone would have told me that a few short years later we would be 4th, 2nd and 1st in the premier league. You never know what is around the corner. But it has been 8 long, cold years now in Narnia.....signs of a thaw?
  8. True...but I am pretty sure I read a broad hint somewhere that Nixon has a bit more than mere journalistic involvement with certain er forces...
  9. So sorry to read that. I heard Mr Waggott reads this thread. Maybe, he will contact you now. Better late than never..
  10. Being kind? I think I know what you are being....
  11. Haha..maybe they could have brought in a stooge and dismantled the women's team as well!
  12. How does a remark like that help? Did you never take any kind of action in the face of what happened to our club?
  13. I guess it is a reality check. 2-0 flattered us big time . It really frustrates me because we were played off the park...and not by Barcelona or even Crystal Palace, I hasten to add...
  14. Totally agree. I would really like to see Waggott's cost benefit analysis of this practice. Seems a bit like the thief, breaking into all the cars on a multi- storey car park...wrong on so many levels!
  15. Loved it at the time, but there is a school of thought that it was the worst possible result in the circumstances!
  16. Poor signings. Even Alistair Campbell couldn't spin them into positive contributions to the promotion effort.
