  1. He'd be a fool to do that. I don't know if there is a way he can give a verbal message to satisfy us without showing his hand to potential sellers. Maybe, we will have to reserve judgement until we see action. I wonder whether there will be enough "action" before the early bird deadline on 16 June.. Won't get fooled again.......well maybe not...
  2. Some might think that penance will last 60 years...not enough either!
  3. I am sure a large rake off went to partners(joint owners?)...Do we think other partners merely allow their accomplices to keep all of this...or would there be some kind of split..?
  4. I guess that is my point. Bad advice implies something too external. I find myself wondering if much of the so called outgoings/expenses etc ( percentage of transfer fees, signing on fees, salary from lengthy contracts, pay offs )are in fact payments to the "ownership" and not loss, as conveniently depicted. I may have watched too many westerns, but I have a picture of the robbers meeting up in the hills and divvying up the proceeds!
  5. But agents were/are partners in running the club. Also a large slice of player wages, signing on fees-and indeed managerial pay offs-went to said partners. To think I once wondered why there were so many strange signings
  6. Well said....And instead of a consultant, enter a clown....(followed by another and another..)
  7. Cicero lol! You're playing the man, mate. Stuart is the one with a Latin phrase for that. You are the one who referred to all the posters who said they love us being a lower-mid Championship club and have no desire to be anything else. My whole point was around what is now "acceptable". Then you used the very word, yourself, Tiro.
  8. Yes, I am more hopeful about Waggott than any of their previous appointees to the equivalent role. Not just a back handed compliment either, although they were all hopeless or something more sinister. Like others, following our promotion I observed a few articles/phone- ins, wondering whether fans could now forgive Venky's etc. As a fan, of course I loved last season...but if it merely relieves the pressure on Venky's et al, as they revert to keeping the club, merely ticking over in the lower reaches of the 2nd tier..what then for our club? It all comes down to the concern that Rovers is not in safe hands.... and I would not want anything to distract us from that realisation.. As for redemption...not in this world anyway!
  9. No-one said you were dumbing us down. I never bought into the "blame the fans" line! In the context of loyal, one club supporters, my point is around functionality. The 2nd relegation and immediate promotion -to the very level, which evoked such outrage in 2012- has has had the impact of managing our expectations down. It has bought Venky's and their partners time...
  10. Now the dust has settled, I feel the tone and the balance of this report is right ..
  11. ".Would love us being etc""? Blow the straw man down...again! But you may have proved my point with your very last word Lol
  12. OK,..my spectre at the feast moment.. Just musing.... One thing that all the recent euphoria has achieved is to dampen down rightful supporter criticism and discontent. Now many seem willing to accept our dumbing down to a mid-lower table championship club... Venky's job done?..discuss
  13. No, especially in a higher league! I like John Cooper Clark too, but I wouldn't offer him a contract either
  14. If you are searching for a pattern, look no further than the two close seasons of 2011 and 2016. A relegation script... You could be forgiven for thinking it was deliberate.....Certainly, I have forgiven myself for those thoughts!
  15. But after years of being badly advised, they have finally learned .. Lol
  16. I haven't studied the accounts. I do keep wondering how much of this is agents' (partners) direct fees, how much went on salaries for Murphy, Etuhu, Orr, Goodwillie, Formica and Rochina. A good percentage of those salaries would have made its way indirectly into the pockets of the same agents (partners). Then there is all the money spent on paying people off and maintaining their silence.....
  17. Funny what sticks in your mind. Apart from the wally with the brolly stuff .... The morning after we were relegated with Kiddo after the goalless draw with Utd, I went into work, emotionally fragile. A friendly, Utd colleague told me that McClaren (then Utd's number 2) waited on the touchline at the end of the game and shook the hand of every relegated Rovers player..
  18. Would someone called Liam ever contemplate signing for Rangers lol?
