  1. I am also grateful to the burglars for leaving the carpets!
  2. The repeated pattern is what worries me. Twice previously, in 2011 and 2016, when the team had scraped survival, they recouped money and recruited cheap, leading to relegation the following season. The summer will say so much.
  3. In the euphoria, so did I. Bloody ridiculous.! He was dog**** last year too.
  4. I think you are barking up the wrong tree..
  5. I remember reading an article in one of the national papers, when King had had a really good game for Norway against England. This was long before his FA cup exploits against Stoke. The journo was questioning how a player that good was unable to get into Bowyer's team. I think it was the beginning of Bowyer's last season. I noted it because (in my armchair wisdom) I had formed the opinion that he was a headless chicken. Was he just being played out of position to accommodate Rhodes?
  6. Surely, there can't be any doubt about that outcome. That kind of damage can last for a generation.
  7. Are you Derek Bentley lol?
  8. Just a thought...I haven't checked that stats, but my feeling is that Raya will be the fourth goalkeeper, who has gone from good/OK with a great future to absolute crap, in the longstanding context of soft centred, poor defending?
  9. Haha I misread that...I thought it said "how few goals we conceded during half time"..Come back Mr Kean, all is...naah
  10. The club has had a long time to fix this glaring, long term defence problem. No excuse.I am embarrassed.
  11. Then Tony goes to the Telegraph and turns into Edith Piaf!
  12. The future.... is Division 1 at this rate. Big changes required
  13. Or...these loan decisions-like the poor transfer window-are all about cost cutting. Not for the first time, putting our league status at risk...again!
  14. Yep...and Tony is doing the "company man" thing by being supportive of the policy in public...despite, the club's simultaneous refusal to address glaring deficiencies elsewhere in this mess of a squad. If you are correct- and I have no reason to doubt it- then the club is still well and truly infected!
  15. Perhaps, because they just cannot believe we even considered letting these defenders go out on loan-half way through a season- with the injury records of Rodwell and Mulgrew, not to mention Lenihan, Just another cheap, Venky make do and mend gamble like with Coyle the last season we went down. To misquote Szell in Marathon Man.." Are we safe?" ....No!
  16. I remember it was a series of unlikely results for their rivals -one after the other- right at the end of the season..
  17. My relationship with Rovers has changed forever. No longer an automatic decision. The recent decision over the PNE kick off is my latest grudge. My decision depends on the transfer window.
  18. Well done to everyone. What a good listen. Great memories. That Full Members Cup! I still remember the players on the coach, realising that so many of the travelling fans didn't recognise them. And to think I saw Dylan at Wembley before I ever saw my own team there!
  19. Frustrating mediocrity= supporter apathy= low gates= further decline...( but I know you know that lol)
  20. A balanced analysis, amidst all the gloom. However, your points about the positive development squad versus the first team reflect a deep worry for me. Perhaps, the Venky's business model is to concentrate on developing younger players to sell on, whilst creating and maintaining a reality of a first team, merely bobbing around mid to lower end of the Championship. We have never remotely been in contention for promotion from the Championship, ever since the self induced relegation from the premier league.... Managed decline!
  21. Pattern of neglect, associated with "the others"....
  22. Me too. It is not real or authentic.... ...but people call me a football fascist!
