  1. have to say the response to his death is very negative in the office, but a death is a death so... RIP Mr Best
  2. i had such huge arguements on this board about Amo a couple of years ago, i hated him being in the team, but i have really seen him do some shocking stuff. Best defenders are just rocks at the back, that all they need to be, let the full back have a bit of fair, but CB, simple job, DEFEND, he could not do the simple job very well, but he could hit a free kick sometimes, so looked good inconsistently.
  3. best leave him be, not safe to have him in the team, i honestly think he was one of the reasons that the form of Neil and Gray suffered, look how good they play with quality CB's now, its night and day, happens allot with CB's but the Amo gave his all so we can't complain, his standard is Scotland
  4. i'm amazed every is shocked, we were very good, however in the last year we have been as boring as watching paint dry, and the crowds show that, really hope they pick up now.
  5. well for all we know McCarthy might have ten goals by now and not get injuried every other week, so would love to have both considering Dickov and Kuqi look really shocking sometimes. Bellamy looks quality though, lets hope he can stay fit and judge him over a season not 50 minutes of football
  6. normally takes Duff about 2 month to recover from breaking a finger nail if i remember correctly, so won't be on form. Really don't want Robben to hit any form though
  7. thats always an excuse, i think Stead used that "i only need a run of 32 games in the team then i will start scoring more then Shearer did" Bentley looks poor to me, but its very hard to judge a player at that age, he still looks small and weak. he would be better off in the "the old div1" and building some confidence rather then back in the deep end at Blackburn.
  8. does make you wonder what we could achieve if we had a decent partner for Bellamy, not sure how or where we could find one but thats got to be a consideration for next season
  9. but he's always juried, can't really call it a mistake, sure players like Reid, Emerton and Dickov have not set the world on fire but at least they are available and there is three from the sale of one
  10. good point, maybe its the fact chances like you said, like Blackburn when we hit 6th in th league we made 3-4 chances and that didn't work, similar Hodgson made many changes. so Blackburn seem to have the same problems other clubs have had, maybe its because there is a fine line between winning and losing these days. some managers think money equals spending, which i guess is not always the case, but often what fans want.
  11. well at least tems like Chalton, Bolton particularly, maybe Wigan and West ham prove its not all about money, just ask Boro, Everton who just seem to waste s**t loads lately. Football becoming more about being a good manager then having a giant cheque book, bar three or four teams
  12. Tugay's fairly creative but to me he has nothing on Pedersen, who creates a lot more, i think there are allot better players then Tugay out there, but on his day which was sometimes rare, he was brilliant at passing, retaining and switching play.
  13. noticed along with Blackburn a lot of team are going back to 4-4-2, i think 4-5-1's period is over and its not working as effectively, Everton being the latest club and its actually working for them. so fight fire with fire and attack Chelsea and think it could be close 2-2 Bellamy and Pedersen
  14. the average age of the defenders you list is about 27-28 that more then perfect, defenders are normally at their peak until 33 yrs old tugays always been slow, and bently and Pedersen are very young, plus we have Reid, Emerton, Thompson all in mid 20's to come in Kuqi is 28 or 29, thats should be his peak, Dickov has never been a great player and when he was 27 yrs old was playing in the div 2 anyway, he probably better now then before, is good to have around the place if not a regular. Then Jansen probably 27 and Bellamy is 26, should be best years ahead in theory so its not too bad
  15. i think Dickov would have missed though, he's not a player thats mastered one on one with a keeper
  16. bit harsh, Bellemy was probably depressed about being injuried, i doubt he was going to be jumping for joy, i know if i was inured "again" i would probably be gutted
  17. i'm so glad we didn't sign Dailly, Blake, Davies, Corrbett, Peacock, in the 98/99 season we would have surely gone down if we had signed them and Hodgson would have never become England manager.
  18. we need a left back he is not prem class .yes matteo should not be in the first 11 349678[/snapback] though Gray did ok for pace, i mean he's a 31 year old left back, and got down the wings well. Always liked Gray thought he was a victim of the Amoruso era. playing with players like Todd and Nelsen will aid any left back.
  19. have to feel a bit for the stirkers, Hughes is not giving them much chance up front alone. i wonder how many goals have been scored by strikers the whole of this year for Blackburn, i would bet i could count them on both hands, maybe one hand
  20. hav not posted of two months, so Bellamy, good signing, still need more upfront, really glad our star striker is no longer paul dickov, thankgod PS No disrespect Paul, you did a good job to the best of your ability last season.
  21. silly request maybe, but I'd like it if once you go over 2000 posts you have something else to achieve other then Champs league, what about 5000 euro champs and 10000 World Cup or something and also i liked knowing when people joined on the old board, it use to be on the left hand side when someone posted
