I'm going to Liverpool tomorrow since my sister is with a scouser, and it's his 40th. Shall I bring this topic up at the dinner ?

Wow, I came up with a good idea within a rant ?. I'm so angry with the G14 right now, I am close to demanding public beheadings. As for Chelsea, and the fact they are out of the G14, well Abramovic may end up making a fatal error and challenge Putin, or his nominated successor, and end up in the next cell to Khordokovsky. Or he gets bored when Mourinho fails to bring back the European Cup next season and leaves. -

Fingers crossed the nightclub thing is an exaggeration and nothing will come of it. We have the Opta Index and that Pro Zone, so electronic tagging is not necessary thank you. Bellamy hasn't been as much trouble as expected. -

I believe Mr. Romanov is considering a scheme where all the seat numbers at a home match are put in a tombola, and who ever is in the seat that is called at half time is the head coach for the next match. The duties of the coach would include turning the lights on and off, making the tea and wearing a tracksuit. -

This is all a load of toilet. Man Utd would probably be more interested in some more high profile name to take over from Giggs, so they can sell more shirts and attract the sponsors. It's just typical Big Club + form player = transfer nonsense. -

They're going down faster than a star of David Gold's business interests. The body language after the final whistle showed a team that had its guts ripped out through its arse. -

If UEFA bow to the G14, as they will, maybe a G20,000 of all the non-G14 clubs in Europe should resign from UEFA and form their own European organisation. Crazy, unrealistic but it may have to come to something like this for football to be viable in the future. -
Bet it was a brown trousers moment for the builders when it happened. It would be interesting to hear whether it was the workmanship or the design that was at fault. The whole project is a typical British white elephant. I'm not sure we needed a stadium, as the 'England Roadshow' system has been very successful, and with clubs conatantly expanding their stadiums, whose to say Old Trafford will one day be 80,000+ ?. If it was to be built, it should have been in Brum, just as long as David Gold didn't convince the FA that only one club was big enough to call it home...................

Just making sure people knew it was a joke that's all. Please sign a new contract Mr. Hughes. -

UEFA and FIFA should get together, and tell the G14 to bog off and form their super Euro League. They should then ban all players from playing in any tournament run by the domestic leagues, UEFA and FIFA i.e. no world cup, European cup or Premiership football for them. It will be like successful chemotherapy for football-initially painful and unpleasant, but ultimately successful in removing the cancer that is so damaging. However, both UEFA and FIFA will be far too cowardly to do this, and the repugnant cancer that is the G14 will grow and destroy football as we know it. -

He's rubbish. We should be in the Champions League position, and he cocked up at Spurs. Useless fool. Hughes Out !!!. -
[Archived] Stead Completes Sunderland Move
Billy Castell replied to LeChuck's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
I'd like Stead to score this weekend, as he seemed a really decent bloke. Just was a load of racid old tripe on the pitch after that half a season. -
The whining of the scousers did put us in a difficult position, if we told them to bog off after the calls for the match to go ahead on Sunday, we would have been seen by the hand wringing press as the bad guys. We had to dance to this tune, and the tearful shellsuits knew it. And anyway, let's pretend Liverpool win 5-0. Wouldn't that be a fitting tribute to the memory of those who died ?. Please move on Liverpool Football Club, it's only Rememberance Day that requires the world to stop for a moment.

This may be a controversial opinion, but Liverpool fans need to move on. But then I guess until they feel that justice has been done, and the authorities and The Sun are sent down in court, there is no sense of 'closure' for them. Do Juventus fans mark the date of Heysel in a similar manner, or Bradford City fans on the day that the death trap of a stand burnt down ?. I was just wondering if Liverpool fans are unique in holding 15th April as such a sacred day. Why did it take so long for them to realise the date of this fixture ?. Surely it could have been noticed, and altered months ago. Oh yeah, it will generate less publicity about Hilsborough if it was sorted in November. It should take place on the 15th, at the rearranged time. Those in the loop had long enough to raise objections, and sort it out.

Exactly what I was thinking American . Has Souness ever built an Aqueduct ?.

It is Cue the violins by the way. Why would anyone want to line up a row of violins next to those waiting for a cinema ticket ?. As for me, I'll pay for a season ticket and go if you pay off my £8,000+ debts incurred by going to university and doing an MA. It'll have to be a cheque as I don't do internet banking. -

At least we looked good, which bodes well for the future. We almost beat a team that cost 5 times more than ours. P.S. Which big club did Blackburn play yesterday ?, I thought we played against Spurs. -
[Archived] Newell To Meet Fa
Billy Castell replied to Radagast's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If McKay is clean, then I guess Souness trusts him too much when it comes to finding players. It wouldn't surprise me if Harry Redknapp is bent, there is just something about him that suggests it. It's one of those feelings that you get sometimes. Is it just me or do you get the feeling that the older managers such as Ferguson (renowned for his avarice), Redknapp etc. feel more corrupt than the younger managers such as Hughes, Moyes and so on. I'm probably wrong but that is the impression that I get. -

Problem is that it is a very short period of time to look at, and that agents are not allowed to be called up. No-one can be sopenad (or made to testify since I cannot spell) either. -
[Archived] Mark Hughes - Good Choice ?
Billy Castell replied to Ste B's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
There seems to be a very positive vibe coming from the players and manager right now, and that's nice to hear. Unlike our last manager no-one seems to be falling out with Hughes, and there is a real enthusiasm for what he is doing. -

I think he's naturally barrell chested, so however fit he is, he'll look more like an old fashioned rugby player. Ronaldo however, is indeed a fat chuffer in footballing terms. -
I think a Champions League spot is unlikely, but not impossible. Perhaps around 6-7th with Wham and Bolton the most realistic opponents for a UEFA Cup place. I am not convinced A-hole would have enough grit and fight to battle back to rescue their season, especially if the Champions League continues to distract them.

2-0 Spuds. This'll decide whether we can reach the champions league or not, and Spuds will be that bit too good.
