Same as Berg had when they sacked him
-
And won the league in Ireland

2022: Was JDT one of the favourites for the job? No. Did I think he was the right appointment: No. Turned out pretty well. 2024: (Appointed quickly so no real betting market) Did I think he was the right appointment? No. Turned out pretty well. I'm not paying too much attention to the favourites with the bookies at this stage.

He'd fit in perfectly here
-
Can you imagine beating Burnley in the play off final with Dyche in charge? Then all off to see them smash up the Royal Dyche pub in Burnley.
-
I was just looking at Lowe's record. He was caretaker at Derby for one game - won it. Took the Stoke game when Eustace joined - won it. Took our last two games - won them. I still wouldn't want him permanent.
-
Absolutely works. Go for the likes of Cooper on a four month contract. If we don't get promoted we are looking for a new manager in summer. If we do, we pay him from the Premier League money. It's a no brainer for me when we aren't prepared to give out contracts beyond this season seemingly.
-
This is starting to look more and more like an "Allardyce until the end of the season" kind of job.
-
He's only appointed JDT and Eustace at Rovers. That's not a bad success rate.
-
What are you basing this on? On the occasions I've met him, he's come across as very knowledgeable about the game and players. He's been in the selection process for two managers whilst he's been at Rovers. Both have been good appointments which have turned sour due to a lack of backing from above his head.

Eustace…he gone…*official*

Well his first game resulted in Derby's heaviest defeat in almost 3 years. Long may it continue. -
Whoever it is, I just hope we are giving them a contract until the end of January 2026. Gives them an excuse to go when we fuck up another transfer window.

We've all been supporting Rovers long enough to know what happens here 😂 -
That's like turning down a job with a 500% salary increase because it would cost you more in petrol.

He's not even a Pedersen when it comes to a physical encounter -
I'd be very surprised if he didn't go for Steven Gerrard who was one of his idols as a kid. He actually supported Man United so Rooney was one of his heroes as well. Second thoughts, let's not ask him 😂
-
Absolutely. I'd be asking his opinion on who to appoint. At least make him feel involved as the captain. He absolutely drives this team. If he's onboard and fit for the rest of the season, we've got a chance.

Waggott: Why do you want to leave John? Eustace: I'm homesick Waggott: This is your home! Eustace: I'm sick of it
-
How old are you out of interest? I used to hate watching us under Big Sam. However, I'd have him back now. Just what we need.

Eustace…he gone…*official*

After we beat Stoke with Johnson/Lowe in charge we were 7 points above the drop zone with a game in hand. Rotherham were virtually down. Eustace dragged us into a relegation battle. -
Derby thought it was a done deal by Friday evening. I suspect he was approached prior to Warne being sacked on Friday, but he can hardly admit that. He was at Accrington Stanley on Wednesday night looking tired. I wonder if he'd been at Derby earlier in the week for unofficial talks.

Before every game I joke to my lad that this is the week Gueye scores an overhead kick winner. We were walking to the ground on Sunday and I said, "You do realise that he won't score an overhead kick in his life" -

I've just seen Pep Guardiola dropping off his CV in the club shop. We've rejected it as he's refused to email it in and we are trying to encourage 'going digital'.

On the topic of Steve Bruce, has anyone read his football novels? Absolute sensational drivel. The audiobook of "Striker" is available online somewhere for free. Well worth a listen in the car. Potentially the most ridiculous thing you'll ever hear 😂
