  1. Exactly this. His agent isn't doing his job if he isn't getting as much interest as possible to drive his salary up. You'd expect the administrator would be keen to alert as many clubs as possible as well.
  2. I wouldn't pay any attention to the values on Transfermrkt. I'm sure they've got Lenihan as being worth 1.4m and Armstrong well under 4m.
  3. Not in defence. Heard he's leaky at the back these days after all those years with Hayley.
  4. Alarming statistic that. 13 of the clubs spending more than 100% of their revenue on wages as well. Hull broke even, Rotherham made a slight profit and every one else made a loss. Not exactly run like businesses these clubs. They lost £650m between them!!
  5. I wouldn't describe Warburton as below average. He's got a career win percentage of 51% as a manager (Mowbray is 42% for comparison). Before you start saying that part of that shouldn't count as he was at Rangers, well Mowbray was at Celtic as well. Mark Hughes has a career win percentage of 38% (he was 43.6% at Rovers and did a good job). 51% win percentage is pretty good.
  6. These were supposedly the average salaries by club in the Championship in 2018/19. No surprises that Villa and Norwich got promoted looking at that - but Sheffield United massively over-achieved. No surprises who got relegated as well with Rotherham, Bolton and Ipswich amongst the lowest. Brentford and Sheffield United prove you can compete with a lower wage budget, but as a general rule of thumb, the more you pay out in wages, the higher up the league you will finish. 15 clubs paid higher average wages than Rovers.
  7. Quite possibly. It's a good way to squeeze an extra few grand out of Rovers bigging up the WBA offer.
  8. Kipre was on the bench a lot earlier in the season when Mulgrew was on loan there and starting. He must be rubbish. That's what I'm telling myself now it looks like he's not coming anyway. Softens the blow somewhat.
  9. That's probably a bit harsh on Rovers. They probably could afford his personal terms when he was just coming from Wigan. They probably can't afford his personal terms now a Premier League club is sniffing with money to burn.
  10. It's the equivalent of signing Christian Walton.
  11. https://talksport.com/football/509433/aleix-garcia-manchester-city-fernandinho-replacement/ Good article on Garcia here.
  12. Seem to remember Sherwood scoring an own goal as well. Batty over Sherwood, case closed ?
  13. He'd still get in the team at 51, although I don't think he's particularly keen on football.
  14. I might be wrong, but I don't remember Tim Sherwood winning our player of the year award, but Batty won it in 93/94.
  15. Duff before Tugay for me. Duff was genuine world class around the time of the 2002 World Cup.
  16. I'm surprised you'd class Dunn as being up there. Shearer, Duff and Friedel would be my top three.
  17. I've had an idea. Why don't we sell season tickets to a weekly "Venkys Out" protest rather than football? Kind of like the Black Lives Matter protests, but with football and beer.
  18. Can the FA rules supersede the governement ones?
  19. That is very in depth. Good work guys. I'd not heard of about 85% of the names suggested.
