  1. I'd be going for the Cowley brothers while they are available. No doubt we'll get rid of Mowbray just after they've accepted a job elsewhere.
  2. I don't think you can just do that or everyone who ever wanted to leave a contract would just resign and then sign with someone else. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11688/8389166/Blackburn-set-to-name-Michael-Appleton-as-new-boss-after-agreeing-compensation-package-with-Blackpool
  3. We definitely did. We agreed a settlement figure with them.
  4. Just an observation, but can't you do average goals per game to more than 0 decimal places? You've got both sides as scoring 1 per game, when in reality Coventry are at 0.9 per game compared to Rovers being 1.45.
  5. Not sure you can class 53 games out of 92 as "nearly every game". Just looking at the stats - he made 39 league starts in 2 seasons in the Championship. He made a further 12 substitute appearances.
  6. Last 6 managers at St. Johnstone and win percentages: Callum Davidson - 35.135% Tommy Wright - 40.836% Steve Lomas - 36.111% Derek McInnes - 40.113% Owen Coyle - 52.857% John Connolly - 35.897% That Coyle bloke sounds like a good one 😂
  7. Think you need a new calculator 😂
  8. Isn't he moaning at the likes of Rich Sharpe making perceived negative comments? Not like the fans are getting on his back in empty stadiums - I'm assuming he doesn't come on here.
  9. Or to go even further... Matches where Ayala and Lenihan have started together: Played: 6 Clean Sheets: 0 Conceded: 9 (1.5 per game) Matches where Ayala and Lenihan HAVEN'T started together: Played: 26 Clean Sheets: 9 Conceded: 28 (1.08 per game) So more complete and utter nonsense from the manager.
  10. I was clearing out some old emails the other day and came across a copy of Steve Kean's contract from when he was manager at Rovers. He was on a basic salary of £1m for the 2011/12 season - with a £200k bonus if Rovers finished in the top 12. The contract then goes on to state he'd earn £1.2m in 2012/13 if Rovers were still in the Premier League, or half of that if in the Championship. He would have received a £500k bonus if Rovers were then promoted that season. The contract even specifies what his salary would be should we be in League 1. He also got a bonus of £200k for qualifying for the UEFA cup via league position and £200k for qualifying for the Champions League. There was also bonus payments for progress in the FA Cup and League Cup (£100k for winning either, but also payments for making the semi finals). The club also paid and additional 10.4% of his basic salary into his pension. It's no wonder he hung around as long as he did.
  11. Sh*t makes a good fertiliser - we should have had the greenest pitch in the country with all that on it.
  12. Come on Mercer, aren't you aware of the global pandemic entirely confined to Blackburn?
  13. If that is true, then it would be Gary Caldwell who won 3 of his 29 matches there.
  14. The figures are all wrong on there and it's nothing to do with agents fees and signing on fees. It's something to do with exchange rates and the figures are actually the Euro value rather than GBP. It reckons we paid over 10m for Grabbi ffs. That 10% signing on fee is completely plucked out the air as well.
  15. That was absolutely the most bizarre line-up/formation I've ever seen (Apart from a few of Garth Crooks' team of the week selections) Friedel, Matteo, Amoruso, Short, Gray, Ferguson, Emerton, Gresko, Stead, Yorke, De Pedro. A team so unbalanced I start to feel dizzy just looking at how left-side heavy it was.
  16. I'm not saying he is in the same bracket - the fact is Sterling has improved immensely between being 19 and now - mainly due to his decision making improving with age. Dolan has the technique, hopefully the decision making will come.
  17. Let's not forget he's only just 19 and in his first season as a professional. He's definitely got the ability and hopefully the decision making will come with experience. I'd have described Raheem Sterling as a headless chicken when he was younger - he always had the talent, but not so much the end product. 35 goals last season and 31 the season before that suggests he has now.
  18. I don't think that is classed as one of his assists. Whilst I don't think that bit of play was quite the 'outstanding' bit of play that some believe, that goal doesn't happen without Dolan.
  19. I'm not sure how accurate the BBC numbers are: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/blackburn-rovers/top-scorers But if they are correct, they suggest you're being harsh with your assessment. 3 goals and 2 assists. 0.38 goals every 90 minutes on the pitch - 4th best at the club behind Armstrong, Dack and Davenport. He's scored with 30% of his shots - best conversion rate at the club. With 5 goal contributions (assists plus goals) there is only Armstrong, Elliot and Brereton with more.
  20. I bet they are extremely rare though.
  21. I agree with you here. I'd read that Dack had scored after brilliant work from Dolan. It was essentially a lucky break.
  22. Probably not many people at all - which would mean you'd have a reasonable chance of winning if you did?
  23. I only looked it up as I thought it was the game where N'Zonzi scored a belter from 30 yards - but we actually lost that one 3-2.
