  1. He doesn't see Melbourne Victory quite at Super League level yet, but he's sure they can be in a few years.
  2. I'd be interested to see how many of the players were genuinely bothered about that. I get the feeling the majority are more interested in lining their own pockets than representing their country anyway (not all of them, but the majority)
  3. Elliott is much more physical than Buckley and he's about three and half years younger. I'll guarantee you now Elliott has a better career than Buckley.
  4. Jose has only managed 5 of the Super League clubs so far. He's just trying to be the first man to do all 12.
  5. I remember when we had a decent manager and I'd panic every time something like the Mourinho sacking happened. Whenever the likes of Spurs, City or Newcastle would sack someone, I'd be panicking they'd go after Hughes. No such worries nowadays.
  6. On the plus side - let's strip the 6 of them of all league titles/places since the inception of the Premier League. Rovers are now newly crowned Premier League Champions for the 93/94 and 05/06 season and finished runners up in 97/98 and 02/03.
  7. Another stat - in the last 23 games, we've only won 1 game where we've had more possession than the opposition (we've won another 3 games in that time period, but had less possession than the opposition). Possession football doesn't always work.
  8. 2018/19 - 35.3% (Win percentage) 2019/20 - 36.7% 2020/21 - 29.5% 2020/21 (5th December onwards) - 18.5% 2020/21 (5th January onwards) - 16.7% 2020/21 (5th February onwards) - 6.7% If he's developing and improving the squad - it must be the manager causing us to go backwards.
  9. I can picture it now. His end of season meeting will be like a gender reveal party. There will be a big explosion as some giant balloons with our final league position float into the sky. Mowbray puts a positive spin on the fact we've stayed up.
  10. Agree with this. He's bound to have dips in form at 17 playing for a struggling side. He's got 16 goal involvements in the league - 11 assists and 5 goals. From what I can see, there are only 9 players with more goal involvements. He hasn't been as good since the turn of the year, but overall he's been a success.
  11. Christ, surely it's not quite at that level yet 😂
  12. Surely that's the equivalent of a Sales Director saying he doesn't look at sales or what any competitors are doing. You'd be fired for that anywhere else.
  13. Birmingham have scored less. Let's look at the positives.
  14. If Wilder wouldn't come, I'd definitely being going for Danny Cowley. 4 wins out of 4 since taking over at Portsmouth and only contracted to the end of the season.
  15. Cowley brothers move to 3 wins from 3 at Portsmouth, but only contracted to the end of the season. They would be a massive upgrade.
  16. I was on the phone when I read that and got incredibly excited for all of 10 seconds then realised the date 😂
  17. I'd go with Friedel, with Tugay a close second. I would say Shearer, Friedel and Duff are the three genuinely world class players I've seen while watching Rovers (I'm 37). Tugay was an absolute joy to watch, but probably not quite at the level of the three above, so I'm going for Friedel as my best foreigner. Notable mentions for Santa Cruz, McCarthy, Samba, Nelsen, Berg and Edinho Jr.
  18. I really like that design to be fair. It's just not Rovers though is it?
  19. Blackburn boss Steve Kean has told talkSPORT he expects the club to playing in the Champions League by 2015. Rovers recently sold Phil Jones to Manchester United as he wanted to play Champions League football but Kean believes his club will soon be joining the Reds in Europe's elite competition. He told Saggers and Quinny: “It was difficult with Phil because he got the opportunity to go to Manchester United and he wanted to play Champions League football now. We’re not there yet but I’m sure we will be win the next three or four seasons.” 😂😂😂 Absolute gold.
  20. I was mainly meaning ex-United who had managed Rovers.
  21. It's absolutely no way to run a business. Ridiculous that there is so much money in the game - yet very few clubs are able to turn a profit. No other industry would spend such a ridiculous amount on 'staff' wages.
