  1. Marshall managed 10 clean sheets in his last 13 games for Wigan Walton manage 1 in his last 13 for us.
  2. If Chris Martin is the best we can hope for, then we are in "Trouble".
  3. According to Google: How much is Chris Martin worth? Chris Martin has a net worth of $120 million. Probably found the wrong one again here.
  4. 12 in all competitions - which was the same as Gallagher, Graham and Brereton combined.
  5. Is that you Tony? Sign a centre half and stick him in nets ?
  6. I'm expecting something like this. Chapman to get a game in goal with no first team keepers available, then all our strikers on the right wing, due to the fact our only right winger is now in goal. Holtby in the false 9 role, due to the fact all our strikers are playing wide right. Bennett at right back.
  7. There was a story from Jeff Winter once about how he had booked Matt Jansen for either dissent or kicking the ball away. One of them would result in a fine under Souness, so Matt asked Jeff if he could change the reason for the booking to the other reason which didn't incur a fine (can't remember which way round it was). Jeff said that if Matt could get him a signed ball/shirt to auction for charity, he would change the reason. After the game Winter was in the referee's room with the assessor and Matt came running in with a signed shirt/ball and said 'Cheers for that Jeff' ?
  8. Whilst donating £80k is great, I'm not sure he needs to publicise the fact he's doing it. I used to work with a girl who's nephew required some sort of rare cancer treatment in the USA at a significant cost. They managed to raise the money and I'm told a couple of footballers made sizeable donations, but on the strict proviso their names weren't leaked. Class when doing it for purely altruistic purposes.
  9. I heard a story earlier in the season that he went from being all matey with the players to being quite disciplined and the players didn't like it. Stories about suddenly announcing an extra training session in the afternoon after the morning session. I know you're all thinking that an extra training session shouldn't be an issue for players on the wages they are on, but they still have families, childcare, school collections to consider etc.
  10. The Scottish Rooney? Surely not? The fact that he is at Clyde now and played for Doune Castle before that, tells you everything you need to know about him. The Scottish Rooney wasn't even the worst comparison Steve Kean made. Who remembers our version of Gabriel Batistuta?
  11. I remember Dunn and Flitcroft being asked who the worst player they ever played with was. They laughed and wouldn't give a name, only to say if you'd had a bad day in training, you'd 'Had a Grabbi'. I'd forgotten about Petrovic. He's got to be up there as well. Awful.
  12. I think you've pretty much nailed it there. I'd chuck in Maceo Rigters in with Goulon. He'd just won the golden boot at the Euro U21 championship I think, but a deeper delve into his goal scoring history suggested it was a one off.
  13. It's mental really that they can just keep chucking money at a club they don't appear to have any interest in. I'm not sure badly they've been affected by the current economic climate, but you'd think at some point it'd be worth gambling and chucking some decent transfer money in to try and get promotion. Suddenly the club becomes more prestigious to them if back in the Premier League, as well as giving them a chance to recoup some of their outlay.
  14. Even if he didn't have legs, he'd be an upgrade on Bell.
  15. Initial fee of £3m rising to £6m with appearances. Judging by the number of appearances he's made in his career, the rest of that won't be payable for the next few decades,
  16. Absolute sacrilege to even mention Fettis and Filan in the same breath. Fettis was a terrible keeper. Filan was a very good one. He replaced Flowers in 97/98 and was very good and was player of the season the year after (albeit in a relegated side).
  17. It was only worse in the context of the game. Walton's definitely made worse mistakes than that. It's the volume of mistakes that is a problem with Walton for me. There was a period when it was like we were starting -1 on the coupon with him in goal.
  18. I think it's generally considered that Rodak, Samba and Raya have been the best three keepers in the Championship this season. It is unfortunate that he does have an error in him, but he's still very young.
  19. With the amount their squad cost, they should have gone up automatically. Cavaleiro - £15m Mitrovic - £22m Hector - £8m Mawson - £20m Bryan - £6m
  20. I'm in the wrong job. I need to get into a 'Senior' management position in the council ?
  21. How can someone working at the council be paid double what the PM makes? Absolute lunacy.
  22. It was a clever free-kick, but no keeper should be beaten from that distance like that. It was a comical dive as well, made it look even more ridiculous. *For the record I'm a big fan of Raya, but he was definitely at fault there.
  23. This season just gone was the first time he scored under 15 goals in a season in the last 9 years. 11/12 - 21 goals 12/13 - 19 goals 13/14 - 23 goals 14/15 - 19 goals 15/16 - 34 goals 16/17 - 20 goals 17/18 - 15 goals 18/19 - 17 goals 19/20 - 14 goals
