  1. I was just looking at our record this season with/without certain players. This one was a shocker: With Ryan Nyambe: P6 W0 D1 L5 Without Ryan Nyambe: P5 W4 D0 L1
  2. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed on here by a poster that it was Lenihan.
  3. I'd go with this: Nyambe Lenihan Williams Douglas JRC Trybull Holtby Elliot Armstrong Brereton Dolan Might as well not bother with a keeper if the last game is anything to go by.
  4. At least you can imagine him getting 15 goals in a season, as it appears you've dreamt about him scoring 17 in a season. Did you even watch our relegation season? ?
  5. I'm not Gallagher's biggest fan - but he's actually scored a goal every 58 minutes on the pitch over his last 6 appearances. 173 minutes / 3 goals.
  6. I think someone said it expires in the summer of 2022. I wouldn't be rushing to sign a new one if I was him.
  7. I was just looking at this page on the BBC website for top assisters in the Championship. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/championship/top-scorers/assists It's only got Brereton as having 2 assists, so must not count the penalty he won and the one that hit the post for Dolan to score. His other stats make for pretty impressive reading though. It suggests he's created 12 chances - only one other player on the list had created more (Buendia at Norwich). There's only one other player with a higher pass completion rate than him on the list as well. Harvey Elliot is also doing very well on the list considering he's only played 3 games as well.
  8. Agree. I was just thinking last night that he scores all kinds of goals other than headers. Then he goes and scores a header. His goal scoring highlight reel is very impressive. Scores with both feet, blasted finishes, dinked finishes, lobs, strikes from distance, instinctive finishes, curled finishes. I probably wasn't his biggest fan 18 months ago, but he's flourished since Dack has been injured. Definitely our most valuable asset now, especially after Dack's injury.
  9. Absolutely. 21 goals this calendar year now. There was a stat not too long ago saying he'd been involved in more goals in 2020 than any other player in the English league. I'm assuming this is still the case.
  10. We were after Zidane in 1995 and signed Matty Holmes. I'm judging our recruitment on the signing of Holmes as opposed to the interest in Zidane.
  11. Brentford always seem to get their recruitment spot on.
  12. I was a big fan of Samba. He was on that Soccer AM Pro Am thing not too long back. First attempt at a volley he completely fluffed. Second one he absolutely smashed it home. Also finished a one on one by taking it round the keeper. Very underrated on the ball for me. Watch 2.20 - 2.50 to see his awful volley followed by his belting one.
  13. I was thinking - if I could choose any ex-Rover to add to our squad from the last 30 years at their absolute peak, who would I go for? The fact it wouldn't actually be Shearer, Duff or Friedel speaks volumes. I'd go for Hendry. I really think we're an old school, blood and thunder type centre half away from being competitive in this league. I don't think even Shearer could score enough to compensate from how porous we are at the back.
  14. Always the same on here - complete over-reaction either way if we are winning or losing.
  15. I've only just seen this, but I've still got my 125th anniversary shirt bagged with tags in the box they were supplied with.
  16. On the other side: We've conceded 25 shots on target, 37 off target and conceded 6 goals. They've conceded 16 shots on target, 31 off target and conceded 1 goal. Also a couple of direct results for comparison: Derby 0 Rovers 4; Derby 0 Reading 2 Rovers 0 Cardiff 0; Cardiff 1 Reading 2 Watford 3 Rovers 1; Reading 1 Watford 0 Rovers 5 Wycombe 0; Reading 1 Wycombe 0 (Wycombe had 10 shots to Reading's 5) We could do with an early break through to open the game up otherwise we might struggle to break them down.
  17. Hopefully he will be a late bloomer ?
  18. He didn't play a Premier League game until he was 16.
  19. Five yards out yet outside the 6 yard box? To be fair, he nearly missed it.
  20. I know there is a long way to go, but this comment isn't currently ageing very well at all ?
  21. That was the one. I was 14 at the time and went to McDonald's before the game and Damien Duff went through the drive through (he wasn't playing). Had a feeling it was going to be a rough evening when we saw the team sheet and no Sutton, Duff or Ripley in it.
  22. We were 4 points from top spot after 24 games before falling away quite drastically. I think our full backs were asked to push 10/15 yards further up the pitch which resulted in the winger pushing further forward. In December we won 3-1 away at Highbury after being 1-0 down at half time. An Arsenal side that contained Seaman, Adams, Overmars, Platt, Petit, Wright, Bergkamp and Vieira. They returned the compliment by putting four past us in the first half at Ewood later in the season. I remember it snowing in the second half and hoping for it to get called off ?
  23. Just looked back at those fixtures and remember them pretty well, Roy Hodgson's first 6 games as manager. We were tremendous to watch at the start of his tenure. Interestingly enough, 14 of those 18 goals came in the first halves of those matches. Remember being 4-3 down at home to Leeds at half time and it finished 4-3
  24. Aren't they the prime things we look for in a centre half?
  25. At this stage in 2018/19 Norwich were 9 points off an automatic spot and 6 points off a play off place. Was that relevant? Promoted as Champions. At this stage in 2017/18 Fulham were 7 points off an automatic spot and 3 points off a play off place. Was that relevant? Promoted via the play offs. At this stage in 2014/15 Bournemouth were 5 points off an automatic spot and 3 points off a play off place. Was that relevant? Promoted as Champions. At this stage in 2012/13 Crystal Palace were 6 points off an automatic spot and 4 points off a play off place. Rovers were top. Was that relevant? Palace promoted via the play offs, Rovers finished 17th. At this stage in 2011/12 Reading were 11 points off an automatic spot and 7 points off a play off place. They were in the relegation zone in fact. Was that relevant? Promoted as Champions. At this stage in 2009/10 Blackpool were 7 points off an automatic spot and 4 points off a play off place. Was that relevant? Promoted via the play offs. Who was top of the Premier League after 6 games in 1994/95? Newcastle. We were 4 points behind them already. Was that relevant? You don't get a trophy for being top after 6 games. It's a good job none of those sides above gave up after 6 games I guess.
