  1. A proper centre-half is what we've been crying out for - hopefully Wharton can develop into that. I'd love a Short type centre half right now.
  2. Did you see the late equaliser Stoke had ruled out last night for a foul on the keeper? Absolutely ridiculous.
  3. So we should have conceded at least one in the 49% he was up against Douglas surely? ?
  4. The other bit of play I really enjoyed was Rothwell's assist for Brereton. Great burst of pace, draws in the defender and plays the ball at the perfect time to release Brereton. For a player who often plays with his head down a bit, the vision of what was going on around him was excellent.
  5. Re: Gallagher It's worth noting where he's run from to win the penalty. He's about 20 yards inside his own half when the ball is played. 6 seconds later he's being brought down in the box. Fantastic determination and pace - but even better for the fact he's had to take a couple of touches with the ball (from just inside their half) and managed to get his body across the defender to draw the foul. Great forward play.
  6. Does anyone know when Kaminski can come out of isolation? I'm pretty sure he was isolating in our own half at Deepdale yesterday ?
  7. One thing that amused me on watching the highlights was listening to the stadium announcer calling out the names of the Rovers goal scorers. I'm not sure how he kept himself from laughing when he announced Dolan's goal. He's a big Rovers fan ?
  8. Well I'll hold my hands up and say I was horrified to see Sam Gallagher playing on the wing when I saw his name on the team sheet. That worked out pretty well in the end, so credit where credit is due.
  9. Just going to bring this one up ?
  10. 84% possession in the 2nd half. Wow.
  11. On the plus side, he's not gone 4 games without scoring in 12 months. Also, the only time this season he's gone 3 games without scoring, he scored 4 in his next 2.
  12. I'd personally prefer Dolan to come on for the last 25/30 minutes against tiring legs. Be nice for him to get the winner.
  13. You'd put the Championships top goal scorer, who has scored more than double every player (other than Toney and Joao), out on the wing? Madness. Although this is Mowbray we are talking about.
  14. Was that the 7-0 game? Forest came to Ewood on a 25 game unbeaten run, which was a Premier League record at the time. Shearer got a hat-trick, but Bohinen was man of the match. Top player on his day.
  15. That's all competitions - but still not quite as bad as people are making out. I've added Lenihan's numbers for comparison: Last 6 seasons: 2014/15: 38 appearances (DL 20) 2015/16: 39 appearances (DL 27) 2016/17: 17 appearances (DL 44) 2017/18: 39 appearances (DL 15) 2018/19: 39 appearances (DL 39) 2019/20: 25 appearances (DL 39)
  16. That's nonsense. Last 6 seasons: 2014/15: 38 appearances 2015/16: 39 appearances 2016/17: 17 appearances 2017/18: 39 appearances 2018/19: 39 appearances 2019/20: 25 appearances
  17. It's 203 appearances when you include sub appearances and cup games. Which is 31.2 games per season - just under the average he's managed over the last 3 seasons. Not great, but not Whatmore.
  18. Which centre half would you have gone for then? Presumably with little/no money available. Sounded like Kipre was first choice, but not sure who else was available within our budget.
  19. Ayala who has averaged over 34 appearances a season over the last 3 years? Or Whatmore who has averaged less than 15 appearances a season in the same time period?
  20. It's hard to leave either Rothwell or Johnson out. Our record with Rothwell and Johnson both starting: P4 W3 D1 L0 Our record without them starting together: P9 W2 D1 L6
  21. It depends where we are in the league come January. If we've managed to be in and around the top 6 - you might as well hang on to him until summer and hope he can get us promoted. If we're in the top 6 in January and sell Armstrong, you can kiss goodbye to any promotions hope. If we're bobbing around in mid-table and going nowhere, it's a different question if he's only got 18 months left on his contract.
  22. Agreed. He's talking like a complete outsider with no connection with the club.
  23. The issue with Whatmore is that he's injury prone. Far more so than Ayala.
