Yeah that's harsh. I thought he'd really get called up this time...Im gonna be £20 quid out of pocket if he doesn't get a full cap before the start of next season too. -
Oh sorry Ricky I didn't realise. Looks like he's being joined by Dalton now then.

Didn't know where to put this but Rovers have taken two youngsters on trial: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...d+trials+to+duo The lad from Scarborough is meant to be some talent!

Guess that's his Ewood days over. I think it's on the official Ipswich site. Edit Only2garners beat me to it.

[Archived] Shabani Nonda Signs
G Somerset Rover replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
He could well be CircoW. As OJ and Drunx said perhaps the arrival of a fellow countryman has done much to reassure him and helped him to fit in- after all this is what I was told a few weeks back. I just thought that the rumour had some weight because of Hughes' comments before yesterday about the possibility of him becoming a permanent Rover-he never sounded as if he wanted him on a full time basis. I guess all will be revealed in the summer, but if he continues to score until then who'll give a damn anyway! -
[Archived] Shabani Nonda Signs
G Somerset Rover replied to FourLaneBlue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Right this could well be wrong, my housemates friend (Yep one of those) is working for a short period at Rovers, but I better not say where/doing what as I don't want to stich them up even if it is complete rubbish. Basically they say that Nonda isn't liked at Rovers at all and would be astounded if we were to keep him. Apparently he doesn't mix in well with any of the players, and the management staff (Inc. Hughes) cannot wait to see the back of him. This story made more sense when I heard it a couple of weeks ago when he wasn't playing...but maybe he's had a change of attitude? -

Why do they have to tempt me with starting a new game when I've finally got into a Rovers career on the 7.01 patch?! I couldn't remember if anyone's mentioned him but in my current game, Chelsea signed Ezeqiel Lavezzi (Think that's how you spell the fella!) and I was able to loan him straight away. The guy is a goal machine and he and Benni Mac may fire me to a top 3 finish in my first season! Also, although Nelsen's stats don't look amazing-he is quality and Roma amongst other teams keep offering me a fair bit for him. But totally agree on Gamst and Bentley-Pedersen seems to be an all round good left winger (eg pretty good pace) when his stats should really reflect that he's capable of the unexpected and a scorer of regular goals from out wide. -

The NOTW also said that Villa were getting Villa...David that is. I know they have a bit of cash now but I very much doubt that one of the worlds current best strikers would go there. As for Bentley-I couldn't see him going to Utd....however there will be many managers here and abroad who have been extremely impressed with him this season. -

My best mate and his brother were successful. If you play on for around a year then they come through a random clubs youth system. -

I'm glad that he's out of the team today-we can now draw a line firmly under all of this and move on. The captaincy issue was a joke, but he has been a good servent for the club. Lets get the Admiral back and then we will truly have a worthy skipper. -

I think we've still yet to agree a deal with the Hammers though. -

He's gone according to this-Hammers just have to agree a deal with Rovers: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...es+Hammers+deal -

To be fair the Hammers were reportedly offering Young 50k a week which is beyond belief when you consider he's had relative success for half a season. I think this is now 100% to do with money should he join the Hammers. -

I think Neil told Brownie a few whoppers. Anyway...I think Konchesky is slightly better than Warnock...but not much. As long as Newcastle don't hijack the deal with a swap for Moore and Bramble we shouldn't worry! -

[Archived] Reidy!
G Somerset Rover replied to daveoftherovers's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
It has...just seen on the online LET edition that hes out for 6-9 months. David Dunn alone will not be enough now. We need a first 11 midfielder who can play consistently for the remainder of the season. Thoughts go out to Steven though-I hope he recovers his form of old. Edit- Sorry here's a link: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport..._the_season.php -

G Somerset Rover replied to daveoftherovers's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The LET describe Reid's injury as a 'scare' and that he was off for scans yesterday. Does anybody know the results of these yet? Hopefuly it won't be as bad as we all fear. -

Absoloutely gutted with this. Just as it looked as though we'd have a fully fit squad. I'd go with you cn Barlow we HAVE to get a replacement in and off the top of my head Sidwell would be the closest thing to Steven Reid that we could possibly get. -

This is a good point and one which a sports writer (can't remember who?) commented on a few weeks back. He said that whilst Neil is a good defender what with his aggressiveness and the referees strictness he would surely spend more time in the stands than on the pitch if he does move abroad.
