  1. Sounds like a fate worse than death . . . . . Personally I'd rather go to the beach/lake/mountain/jungle etc.
  2. Woolmer Gate I can hardly believe it's been over 10 years since the Bob Woolmer fiasco; Something that you can file right up there with the likes of Steve Kean et al.
  3. Exactly that. And even though there are far more foreign players and Kolpaks then there's ever been. There is still a big local aspect to cricket - Davies from Darwen etc. etc. - that you don't really get with football any more.
  4. I hope nobody made any nasty comments about that 'Goodbye Axl Rose' song.
  5. I realised I like cricket more than football. I chose to watch England demolish the Aussies instead of the Scotland v England first half. Only turned over when the rain came with England practically over the line.
  6. As for Lancs. This season is all about finishing 3rd from bottom. We just have to hope that Warks continue to implode - along with Somerset.
  7. Finally the first decent contest of the ICC trophy - Sri Lanka chasing down a seemingly unlikely target to beat India. That group is set-up nicely now with 2 'knock-out' games.
  8. We're in good company. I see Atletico Madrid did a similar thing to us after going 2-0 up . . sitting back instead of cashing in whilst the other team were rattled. *tuts*.
  9. I got a few Ebay T20 Finals day bargains back in the day (i.e. before the legal tout site StubHub took over). It was always marketed as being 'sold out' - when it actually wasn't, meaning those that bought for profit had to drop their price a little to sell - then there was always loads of fans of teams that didn't make the final just happy to get whatever they could for their tickets. I paid £16.33 for a £50 ticket a few years back. Though paying full ticket price and factoring in travel, food and possibly even accommodation. T20 is becoming a bit of a rich football fan sport and not just for finals day - as OT is a bit of a mission from Blackburn.
  10. Swing loooooooooooooow sweet chariot.
  11. I always thought this guy was a bit of a dope. Dopey Go on. Award England the T20 title that Stokes (and Andre) so cruelly took away from us.
  12. If they had the T20 Blast style innings time limit on India's international games I doubt they'd ever win. The amount of times they stop and slow the game down is excruciating at times.
  13. Where is a good place to eat lunch in *Blackburn centre these days?
  14. Did anyone have a bet on us to go down? (Just to clarify I mean from this board, not far flung betting syndicates).
  15. He also had the touch of a . . . . as I recall.
  16. England's spinners crap again, one wonders why they continue to play 2. Didn't see any Venkys Out banners.
  17. Sevilla just beat Real Madrid. First defeat in 41 games. :tu: Ronaldo is still a @#/?!
  18. I almost forgot about this one. Whatever your position in life, you should at least be able to spare a thought for a poor South American being forced to endure horrendous pollution. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/dec/29/carlos-tevez-shanghai-shenhua-chinese-super-league
  19. Bear with me, there's a link coming. After having a quick look through the lower league tables today, which I hardly ever do these days, I surprisingly saw Notts County 3rd from bottom of the 4th division, Last time I looked some time ago I vaguely remembered they were in and around the top. I checked out their form - and they've lost 10 in a row. This prompted me to look up the longest losing streak in the English football league....wait for it, link coming right up. The record of 18 losses in a row belongs to Darwen F.C. all the way back in the 1898-99 2nd division season. How the mighty have fallen - both Darwen F.C. and Ben Marshall's new club Notts County.
  20. I know it finished years ago, but the sci-fi series Farscape? Is it worth watching?
  21. I can hardly believe that it will be Channel 5's 20th Anniversary this year. It doesn't seem like that long ago since The Spice Girls were the top girl band that helped launch the channel with an amazing cover song.
  22. I don't even think that's that cynical. I think it's been that way for a while. It would be interesting to see where they make most of the money. I'd hazard a guess the biggest money spinner is a concert. Who could forget the time a few years ago when there was a concert before a Championship match and the pitch got so mashed up that most of the game didn't even go ahead. I think it was against Shane Warne's Hants if memory serves correct.
  23. You'd be hard pressed to find any Rovers player that's played worse than 'that Shane Duffy game'.
