You'd have to factor in the discount you get back, as it may make the loss more tolerable. By my reckoning for a £499 ticket you will get a discount of £11.69 each game given to you in 'club credit' if you will. So if we play 7 home league games between now and then you will receive a credit of £81.83. Still leaves you short about £60 quid but may be a bit easier to stomach if you are really desperate to guarantee a spot. -

And Holtby played much better and had more of an influence. I think he had a bad game, that's all Joe, I'm not interested in the whys or hows, just that, imo, he had a poor game. -

Does the £140 loss take into account the refund provided in club credit? That's a hefty loss otherwise. -
Welcome to modern football. I read the other day that there was 2.1 trillion floating around the football industry. Which, put into perspective, the UK GDP is 2.8 trillion. It makes you sick to see a football club around since 1874 has been wound up for a sum of money that a big club pays out weekly to at least half a dozen players on their books. If you ever need evidence of the money not trickling down see here. Fans of UK football should boycott the Premier League but sadly it will never happen. We are a nation of football lovers, and sadly it is easy to capitalise on that with good broadcasting and mega talent. You have to feel for clubs like Macclesfield, and wonder when it will start to envelop clubs the size of ours. Can't be long. We are well on our way to a NFL style system, big city clubs, only one huge league and plenty of money to be made everywhere.

We must have put our fair share of crosses in the box yesterday but sadly to no avail. We need a striker who actually wants to head the ball in. I like JRC and think he has a future here, just thought he weren't up to scratch yesterday and played the worst out of our attackers, save Armstrong when he came on. -

Yedlin, Clarke, Manquillo, Longstaff, Fraser, Almiron, Joelinton all started. All have lots of Premier League experience. They finished the pitch with their best player Saint-Maxim on. Murphy who came on is a regular player there too. But of course we didn't face Shelvey, Hayden, Lascelles or Wilson. There were a few out but the ones who stepped in weren't reserves, they were squad players with plenty of first-division experience. -

Football is a funny old game. I thought we dominated Newcastle but in typical Steve Bruce fashion they caught us on the counter a couple of times. Unfortunately for us it was Ryan Fraser on the end of that pass and not any of their other strikers. One of the poorest teams I have seen us play in recent memory, unless we made them look that way. Not buying this reserves malarkey. One or two second string players in but they had the likes of Almiron, Joelinton, Fraser, Longstaff all starting. We came up against a Premier League team on their own ground and ran the game. My criticism is that we were too slow on the ball. It allowed the team to get back, and again with a Bruce side that means two banks of four and difficult to break down, with a quick attack ready to pounce on the ball into space in behind. It's a tactic as old as man and has forged a career in management for the Potato man. JRC was anonymous yesterday, and you felt the pace of Rothwell and Dolan passed him by. It will happen with youngsters though. Buckley looked good when he come on, and you can tell he is ahead of other players. An example of that was that little pass he made to Nyambe late on, just in front of him and ready for him to whip in first time. Nyambe was on the back foot expecting a pass to his feet, which was the easy amateur ball to make, but should have been awake to Buckley's vision. I actually thought Brereton had a good game by his standards. He beat a few men, played a couple of good one-twos with Rothwell in the first half that culminated in shooting opportunities and put himself about a bit. I fancied him scoring that last minute chance but once again far too slow on the ball in the box. Keep trying though, because he's shown more endeavour in his appearances in pre-season to now than he has in his previous 2 years. Ayala won't go a miss in this squad but other than the goal the defence didn't put a foot wrong. I like how high Kaminski comes up, plays as that extra defender when we have possession. Could have done better for the goal but he was onto a loser really. It was piss poor by Nyambe for not following his man and trying to play offside. Last point would be that just before the first half ended Almiron broke though and I called it that he'd send Lenihan packing. Sure enough he did. For all his good points Lenihan turns like milk and when a forward runs at him you fancy the forward every time. -
Can someone remind me again what it is Middlesbrough have done in the past 30 years? Some mind boggling comments on their forums about how this is a downward move for him. Last I saw we were finishing about the same as them, same level of crowds (the lowest level in my life for us I may add and partly due to owners) and we have spent and continue to spend far less than them. They were winning Division 1 whilst we were winning the Prem. That's about the only good fact I can tell you about Boro.. Oh they had Juninho play for them once. Yeah, I remember....

You have a real beef with a few posters who post their snippets on here. RovingRover put you straight on the whole ITK shite yesterday. Re-read it. No one is looking for credit or pats on the back, they are offering information to fellow fans on a fan based forum for the club they support. It's a helluva lot better, engaging content than is provided by your debates on tactical 'deficiencies' or otherwise. This thread is all the better for posters like RovingRover and this forum is better for having them. As said multiple times, in an era where we get scarce media coverage, any little bit of information is appreciated. Cheers. Pats on the back all round. It's great being IN THE KNOW. -

I think the discount pro-rata from next seasons' ticket is a good idea. He must have been reading my excellent posts. I don't blame him, I'm shit hot. My only hope is that he doesn't do what most businesses do, take the pro-rata saving issued to each person, and increase costs accordingly to recover. Wouldn't put it past this shyster in truth. -

Yeah agreed. In truth it’s hard to know either way because we aren’t privvy to the full details. What we can agree on is that Waggot has acted in a way that isn’t befitting of where we see Rovers as a brand. That isn’t a surprise though given his remit is to care for the accounts and to hell with customer relations. At least that’s what you have to conclude otherwise why would he have done anything he has done in his time here? -

A post ago I struggled to understand basic English. You'll want to watch yourself Revidge, you give me a bit of praise and you'll have hell to pay with the minions. Before I speak I should point out that I think the club have acted badly with respect to refunds and future ST sales. It seems odd that I should have to point this put but nevertheless... That line in the T&Cs would be my first point of defence if I was Waggott. You knowingly bought a product of me with a very specific attached condition which said no refund will be considered if you cannot attend. I guess, the response would be from yourself, that it was in effect an act of God which meant you couldn't attend. To which I'd say, that isn't my problem. Force Majeure does technically mean that. Within my profession we have seen "extension of time" claims denied because of this. It basically alleviates any responsibility from the supplier, Rovers, to the customer, you, because the ability to provide that service was only taken away by an Act of God, not by Blackburn Rovers FC. In the earlier posts I did come up with a solution which I would assume would be the way forward, which would be that the difference between the cost of steaming the iFollow link (£10.00 per game as an example) and the cost of a Season Ticket sale pro-rata the amount you get (£399 / 23) should technically be the refund given to all 8,500 season ticket holders given the alternative product provided isn't "as sold". In effect that would have alleviated the need for a blanket refund, and allowed cash to remain in the club. In the event of not being able to use the iFollow link then had I been running Rovers I'd have offered a full refund, but the stance of the club is that a provision was made for you free of charge (ie: I haven't charged you any administration fee), and if you don't choose to accept it then that is your fault and you aren't suitable for any recompense. I would assume that by the letter of the law what Steve Waggott has done is fine, but I will concede that I haven't read in detail the terms of service pack you must receive when purchasing a ticket. In any case, any prospect of a court case against the club is dim, as it will have the financial backing of 3 Championship clubs at least who will all be seeking to assure themselves a court doesn't rule in the favour of fans and urge refunds. In which case you'd be looking at all 8,500 fans looking to receive at least £50 back which is a very costly exercise. -

I didn't think it a terrible performance, and it was nice to see Johnson not make a mug of himself as usual. I'm certain he started well last season though so let's give it a while before I praise him. Unlucky to lose really but it will continue in that fashion whilst we have the back 4 we do. Lenihan flatters to deceive sometimes, and our team never looked like flying in front of the ball to stop a shot. It's a bit too passenger for me at the back, but tell us something we don't know. Up front it was a good game and I expect we will see a lot of goals this season, either end. Blackburn Rovers BTTS is a cert bet this year, as it has been for nearly 5 now! Want to see Dolan and Rothwell on the pitch from the start next game, ideally against Newcastle. Let's just go there and attack and see what we can do against a pretty poor side for Premier League standards. -

I copied and pasted the paragraph Revidge, didn't say it was all relevant. It says under any circumstance the customer cannot attend which I would assume would fit this hypothetical scenario. For clarity and not to confuse you any further, the bit I find relevant is: NO REFUNDS can be given under any circumstances for individual matches that the Season Ticket holder cannot attend My very basic, and clearly not as established as your own, understanding of English would lead me to believe "no refunds....under any circumstance....for matches the ST holder cannot attend" is pretty fecking relative to the point I am making! But please DickensBlue, do proceed to educate me Genuinely uncertain to as why the hostile reaction to what I posted. Maybe it went against the grain? I responded to a poster saying take him to court, but given my experience with pandemic related claims in my own industry, it would be rather fruitless trying to take him to court given a) the T&Cs attached to the terms of service b) Force Majuere is a recognised clause in Consumer Rights Act 2015 and c) I'm certain a company like Rovers would insert an 'act of god' clause into any contract they enter....although judging by the Sala vs Cardiff case maybe not.... In any case, I wasn't looking to beef with you but given the blokes liking your posts one would assume this is a matter of 'playing the man, not the ball'. Not to worry. You win amigo, well done. -

It wouldn't be a £90 claim would it. It would be a potential for a £90 claim + court costs x approx. 8,500. So effectively the liability for Rovers on the back of a hypothetical court scenario would be £765,000 minimum. If arbitro did go ahead, and the court ruled in his favour, it would pave the way for mass refunds. You could even bet your bottom quid that representatives from PNE would assist in the defence claim. Secondly, it wouldn't even get to court. Rovers' own season ticket terms and conditions are as follows: NO REFUNDS can be given under any circumstances for individual matches that the Season Ticket holder cannot attend. The Club cannot guarantee that your seat (or the designated area of the stadium in the case of the Bryan Douglas Darwen End Season Ticket) will not be affected by adverse weather conditions. Blackburn Rovers excludes to the maximum extent permitted by law any liability for loss, injury or damage to persons/property in or around the ground. https://www.rovers.co.uk/tickets/season-ticket-terms-conditions/ Lastly, this seasons' tickets would have to be sold under the same conditions, given the climate and reluctance from BRFC to issue refunds. Therefore, had Waggott sold 8,500 season tickets (unlikely) then the government said no, you can only have 1000, it would put the club in the position of needing to notify 7,500 people of their unfortunate circumstances about not being able to see the game live and no refund whatsoever. Otherwise it would break the stance he is taking on last seasons' tickets. However, from an accounting p.o.v, as we are making a loss, you'd have to assume the income gained from those 7,500 tickets is already accounted for and spent, meaning any refund is a further cost to the club. I'm not defending him but only looking to try and understand the motives behind it. Call it nonsense all you want, it's some guess work so may well be. I'm not particularly supportive of Waggott or the board. Bloody hell, already wishing I didn't post. Fuck it - Rovers bad, mmm'kay. -

Unfortunately that is his prerogative but what I was getting at is with this refusal to refund, it was probably the reason why STs were like they were. He doesn't want to refund anyone for cash the club receives, therefore potentially selling 4000+ tickets with a refund clause attached would be bad for club cash flow. I'm guessing by the way, going off accounting procedures in the industry I work in, but trying to put some science behind some rather odd decisions -

No doubt arbitro, and I posted my own personal experience with this and my grandad Brian who unfortunately was never able to access the iFollow service and will never be in a mindset to challenge the club about a potential refund. It was a ludicrous suggestion as an alternative, and I do believe that refunds should have given pro-rata, or at least the difference between iFollow and actual attendance given the fact you were offered a lesser product. We aren't that family club we used to be that's for sure. -

You mustn't have ever heard of force majeure then. If he threatens them with legal action Waggot will ride him all the way through the courts and back. It is also situations like the above with arbitro for why Waggott was probably reluctant to put Season Tickets on sale. Once cash flow is confirmed - ie sale of ticket - it is incredibly hard to ring fence that cash as an aside in case of refunds when you are running a loss making enterprise. -

Nyambe Lenihan Williams Bell. not promotion material, but will keep you in the Championship imo. That said we need a starting centre half and left back as soon as possible. Amari’i Bell is a one step forward two steps back kinda player - I think he’s improved and then the next game it is a sinking feeling that he might never make the grade. -
We can wear our home kits against Stoke, Rotherham and Boro.
-
I quite like it but I was yearning for a red and black striped kit I won’t lie. I thought this years kit had a resemblance of that 95 kit and genuinely thought we might see a similar away kit. Would have definitely bought a red and black collared away top this year. As it happens I’ll probably buy the home shirt, but may pass on this depending on pricing. Not a bad effort though, and not as terrible as being made out by some...but fashion taste is subjective after all.
