  1. I don’t think he is in truth Id say the opinion, even on here, is about 70/30 which outside of this board would probably make it around 50/50. It is not uncommon for BRFCS posters to be calling for the sacking of a manager.
  2. We haven’t performed well for 5 or 6 games now. The system hasn’t changed from the start, neither has the players really, but they aren’t delivering like they were. We could argue the semantics about why they aren’t til the cows come home but maybe it is the simple fact that they are not good enough. We need a serious defensive mid in this 4-3-3 system and BJ / Trybull aren’t good enough to do it. Not only that but we need another Elliott on the opposite wing because Gallagher just isn’t performing. We are a few players off, but that’s nothing new. I have still not lost the faith and still think we can get play offs this year. Travis will be massive for us.
  3. Rothwell and Nyambe now please
  4. His career has been 'resurrected' following the previous jobs he has had. I do think that failure to reach play offs / promotion with this squad will constitute a big failure though. This season could undo all of that hard work.
  5. An echo chamber. You either do and think as we tell you to, or you get back in the bath with your sister. Either way, you will be bathing with your sister tonight.
  6. He's had a few pants down with that post. No one in their right mind can repeat that tripe without being on the wind up. T'ra nutty, you weird dingle
  7. If Wharton didn't get injured then we would have two right footed centre halves and two left footed centre halves this season. Lenihan, Ayala, Wharton and Williams. I don't think that is a bad choice actually but we have just been unfortunate with injuries.
  8. What makes you say Tony hasn't cut the mustard? He has turned the good ship HMS Blackburn Rovers a full 180. I still think we will get in the play offs this season. Our squad value is substantially more than it was when he came; our scouting department has had an overhaul; the players we have now are not chancers. I have my problems with Mowbray. There will always be something about a manager that you don't like. I just don't see the overwhelming evidence that he is bad for the club that others are clearly seeing judging by the vitriol on here. The comparison with Coyle is over dramatic. Mowbray is nothing like him and has shown integrity throughout his career.
  9. It happened when they sacked the groundsman back in the 'dark days'. Didn't he end up at PSG too? Or at least looking after the Stad de France? At the end of the day the ground and the pitch are reflective of the ownership. Not bothered, half a job, sticking plasters over big cracks and hoping one day the promised land will save us from having to dig into pockets. Why own a football club? You knew what you was buying. It is a huge overhead that you signed up for - have the bollocks and live up to your responsibilities.
  10. It is mad how everybody believes the high wage "guesses" but as soon as phillipl takes a stab at a lower wage proof is demanded. Theories about him being on circa 15k a week go unchallenged; theories about him being on circa 5k a week demand a scanned in PAYE slip and a bibliography of sources. Nonsense talk.
  11. Still only scoring 17% of the time the shots are on target though. I'll be honest and say the stats surprise me, but within that the goals vs Wycombe etc are included. I still think he shoots far too often, especially when a pass is available, but at least the stats do show that he is taking far more shots this year than last and I am not just imagining this overnight change in his game. I wonder whether it is down to instruction or a desire to be the top scorer at all costs.
  12. You can be involved in 40 goals a season as a striker or be involved in 25, all of which you scored. I know which one I'd rather be attributed to. Bobby Firminio isn't prolific but is involved in a lot of Liverpools goals. A striker does have to be selfish but he also needs to balance the requirements of the team. There were a couple of times yesterday when he could have recycled possession but instead he shot and we gave the ball back to them, along with a 1 minute delay whilst the keeper fetched the ball. We won't talk about the Bristol City game and put that down to a bad day at the office
  13. Perfectly put man His insistence on outside of the box shots has meant we have seen far too many chances wasted
  14. Ivan Toney isn't as selfish as Armstrong and he is getting goals.
  15. Even when the day comes that Mowbray is no longer the manager at Rovers I would feel a lot more confident in our future if he was in the board room. I personally think our change in fortunes, and attitude to the game, has come from him. He brings about a sense of football 'normality' and has changed a basket case club into a functioning football club once again. At least player wise, maybe not so in our commercial department. We need more board members to allow those at the club to focus on their actual departments. There are a lot of areas lacking because most will be focussed on the playing department and budgets. If we had a managing director, sporting director, commercial director etc as opposed to Cheston and Waggott we might see some of the poor areas of our club improve. If the natural progression is Damien Johnson then so be it. Not too happy with it myself given the lack of experience but at least it would mean there is a plan. Mowbray as sporting director would mean there is genuine continuity and would see to it there's a man above DJ who will is not tied to other commitments and can press genuine needs unhindered. We seem to have moved on from the early days of Venkys in the playing dept, it is time we did it in the board room too.
  16. Well, he has started one game in 12 (probably more if you can be bothered to go back) which leads me to believe you are talking out of an irrational dislike for him. Coming on as a substitute is a basic requisite for player development. He is the best midfield prospect in the club and is seeing game time as he should.
  17. Bit in bold is probably for @JoeHbut I will take a stab in the dark and say it isn't good. Armstrong has been poor for the past few games imo. His decision making against Bristol City cost us the game. He had more shots than our entire team and I don't think many of them were on target! The news article about £30m is pie in the sky stuff. I'd take £15m for him now. I don't personally think he will get goals in the Premier League but I am more than happy to be proved wrong on that one. He needs to learn to pass, and take a look at the assist for Elliot yesterday as what can be done if he gets his head up. Not every goal has to be a wonder goal and he doesn't have to score them all. To finish though, even with them poor performances, he is still getting goals and that trait is very hard to replace. It would be suicide to sell him in January.
  18. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Ayala Douglas Holtby Trybull Rothwell Elliott Armstrong Dolan Team picks itself for me personally. I'd bring Downing on for Holtby later on in the game. Gally for Armstrong and not out wide. Your irrational dislike of Buckley is now lending itself towards the realms of weird. Barely a thread goes by without you mentioning him.
  19. I can't for the life of me justify the sacking of a manager on the back of 2 losses in 10 games, regardless of what some desktop managers think can be done better. Last night we ground a win out of a truly terrible performance (they happen) and it is now time "we look at the performance, not the result". We play exceptionally well against Watford and Bournemouth and we "have to look beyond the performance and at the result". Contradictory. Simple as that. Take a position and stick with it. If you don't like Mowbray and want him gone then fine, but say that instead of trying to make it out like it is those that want him to stay are the ones overlooking the facts. In reality it is just difficult to keep up with the everchanging measuring stick. Call me a disciple if it makes you feel better about my disagreement. Could not care less. The catchphrases that come out of this thread are plain silly.
  20. Yesterday all I could do was laugh, but today I might be able to muster up a bit of a summary. The worst performance of the season for me. Our passing was tragic, there was no movement up front or in midfield. We passed the ball out of play a handful of times which only added to my ever growing frustration. The length of time it takes to make a throw in tells me they simply are not worked on in training. We should be zipping around when our player has the ball in his hands because it is a potentially very easy accurate pass that can be put on to a stronger foot, allowing for a first time pass forwards. It is basic football. A throw in is an opportunity to attack. I thought Johnson held together a poor midfield. Was disappointed to see Rothwell come off for Downing but in hindsight it worked. Buckley had a poor game again - I think he is better suited to the bench and seeing the last 20 mins. Nyambe was by far our best player on the day and we need to sign him up immediately. He has to be the best right back in this division. Ayala's passing is terrible. Lenihan was average. I can't say a single player actually caught my attention yesterday. Armstrong flatters to deceive in my opinion. He turns and shoots far too often when there is an easier pass to be made. I would be absolutely lambasting the bloke if I was on the pitch but nobody seems to say anything to him. I admire the confidence, I really do, but please start to get some of these wild shots with your weaker foot on target!!!!! All that said and done we got 3 pts so I will forget the performance by Saturday morning. Absolute robbery but who gives a monkeys - 4pts from play offs and we go again.
  21. All I have to say on the matter is Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
  22. Theopane was static. Easy win for Eggington. Nathanial Fredericks won in Cage Warriors last night with a brutal left hook. UFC on the cards for him? Brum holding it down in the fighting world at the moment.
  23. Social media is a really good way of keeping up to date with new or upcoming releases too. You have musicians announcing new albums or developers announce new games / hardware etc all through social media. I follow a lot of musicians through social media, and it means we can keep in track of where they will play, events upcoming or little gigs they have done that wouldn't otherwise be released on album or whatever. There are a lot of people who can get lost in it but you have that with most things. Addiction is not consigned to social media or alcohol or gambling or whatever. Personally I think a life without some form of social media would be strange now. It would be very difficult to keep in touch with some of your friends. We are spread around the globe at the moment, and without social media I'd not speak to some people for months at a time. If you treat social media as your news source you are probably setting yourself up to fail. It is unreliable as it is almost unregulated - anyone can put anything on there - so in that respect you have to treat it with caution and use it for what it is good at.
  24. I don't feel too disheartened after yesterdays performance. I thought we played very well and had Armstrong not decided to try and score wonder goal after wonder goal felt we should have scored. A 1-0 narrow loss at home to a play off contender hurts but isn't the sign of a demise. We are playing good stuff, this squad has a lot of spirit. It is what it is though. This league has games come thick and fast. We play in 2 more days against top of the league so we have to be ready to fight back. We are still contenders. I don't care what others say I don't see this Rovers team as mid table. On to Saturday!
