  1. Paul what you have described is pretty much what I was told would be happening at the end of the season. I was told this about half way through the death spiral by someone who I trust. Then there seemed to be a new urgency (I can't remember which defeat it was after, they are all blending into one now!) and the same person indicated that the termination was being brought forward, which is when I posted that info on here. I have no idea what happened (nor does he) but it sounds to me like they had a replacement in mind that fell through. Based on what I have been told previously, and his demeanour and statements in all recent interviews, I 100% believe that he will walk away at the end of the season.
  2. Yep, I know exactly what you mea AAARRRGGHHH what was that? Fuck, I didn't see that lamppost there!
  3. RIP the author of that song Jim Steinman. Electric Light Orchestra - Wild West Hero
  4. Les McKeown, the lead singer of the Bay City Rollers has died at just 65. Bye bye baby
  5. This has always baffled me Nick. Its hardly rocket science. Jack knew how to do it.
  6. I think KMD ended up that way, but he was still in his prime when we got him. At that point he had never been sacked as a manager and had literally just won trophy-upon-trophy in his previous job. That said, I think Mourinho would be as big a coup and make similar headlines. I also think he would play in the right way to get promoted. Not sure about Hughes, I absolutely loved him at Ewood as a player and even more so as a manager but they say you should never go back and I can't think of many instances where doing so has worked.
  7. I moved to Glasgow just a few weeks after Rovers were crowned premier league champions, and lived there until about 4 years ago. I'm down near Largs in Ayrshire now. I still get to as many games as I can but not as frequently as when I was in Glasgow, when I could easily make it down and back on the train in a day. There used to be a fair few Rovers fans on that train as well, particularly in the prem days.
  8. He's still trying to get messages to the owners in every single interview he does. That doesn't suggest to me that he feels safe and I am still confident there'll be a parting of the ways.
  9. This made me laugh. Edit: I see @Riversider28 had already posted it on the premier league thread 😂
  10. Inviting clubs from another country surely cannot be the solution to this. It’s not that far removed from what these clubs are plotting, when you think about it.
  11. "Widely reported" doesn't make it true Chaddy. Roy Keane has absolutely zero qualifications for that job, other than being Irish and (albeit briefly) an ex- Celtic player. I hope you're right about Howe, I think he'll be a good fit for Celtic if he can get used to the goldfish bowl nature of being their manager.
  12. Roy Keane has never been in the frame for the Celtic job, and I'm not sure whether Howe is or not - if he is you would have to wonder why they haven't appointed him yet? I heard that Dyche is on their radar but wanted to stay and make sure the Dingles stayed up first?
  13. He might be prepared to take a drop in wages if it feeds his ego. Not a chance in hell of Klopp going to Celtic any time soon.
