  1. Pilkington shops at Aldi, or you? Either way, Aldi is a good super market. Anyway, unless he is actually seen, I think it's just a player or employee with a suggestive number plate.
  2. I'm probably having a brain fart, but if Bell gets knobbled would the elusive Hart be the replacement? PS What's wrong about Bono then? (I know but it would be funny to hear what Irish people would say)
  3. Jody Morris, there's a name I've not heard for years. On further reflection this could all go wrong. Not Owen Coyle levels of nonsense but it can be yet another manager in place this time next year.
  4. Frank will probably do OK. Maybe the play-offs or just outside. Credit to him for actually having a go at the management lark and leaving the pundits chair. I remember Andy Gray not making that step.
  5. He can sometimes be absolute poop though. Coventry City/SISU are the kind of team who'd sell any academy hot shot as soon as a club is interested. Maddison, Wilson, Christie, Murphy...........they've all been sold whilst Jordan has stayed. He can be pretty good, but I think he'd need a dominant, John Terry type alongside him. He's not a leader, but then City are the sort of team that have consistently lacked one to organise the team and galvanise the dressing room.
  6. Sam allardyce is statistically England's finest manager if you look at a certain way. Sterling is not a good striker. Is that so hard for you people to understand? That was the premise of JAL's message when he said Kane should be a super sub and suggested Sterling should start up front ahead of him. I don't buy the Sterling hype, or Delli Alli. On their day they are great, but they can also flatter to decive. Especially when they play for England.
  7. Absolutely right tomphil. Abramovich bought the Chelsea to protect himself from Putin in case they fell out and to clean up his money from his shady business interests. He must be worried that his high profile and living abroad may not be enough after the Litvenyenko and Scripal poisonings and probably should chuck a bung to the Kremlin.
  8. Yes. Still misses sitters, occasionally hogs the ball and one season does not make a super star. He really has improved this season, but he's still half the player Sane is. To say he should be starting as a striker ahead of Kane is..... unconventional and a risk to be polite. Up until the season just gone Sterling was an over rated flash luxury with no end product. But like you say, he's still young and has time to improve.
  9. Sterling? The player who missed absolute sitters for a living most of his career, and has only had an ok season when offered a chance in a fantastic Manchester City squad? You'll be saying Stuart Ripley was prolific next!
  10. The person who said McNulty may be onto something. I've seen him twice, and whilst he is not the sort who can take on a team on his own, he might do well with better players around him. He was good against Wycombe just before Christmas, but the later game against Accrington Stanley he was poor as the rest of the team were completely abject and could not pass or create chances at all. So I think he'd be a player that needs a good in form team to really get the best out of him.
  11. Has Jimmy Anderson suddenly admitted he's like Phillip Schofield/Tom Jones, or has he actually dyed his hair that colour?
  12. Those Dack prank calls were brilliant. I'm still alughing now.
  13. No sympathy here. I have lived in many different places across the world, and my dad is a monkey hanger who was in Aldershot by the time he was in secondary school before returning back up to Scarborough. He was happy being the big Yin in Weegieland but had to compete down south. I will always think there's something a bit fishy about that transfer when it involved Souness' favourite agent Willie McKay, his favourite Scottish club and Ferguson returned for a similar big fee. IIRC the reported fee in the papers went from £4m to almost double that. It was all a bit too odd.
  14. Is he a Pulis kind of player? I've not seen him so is he 6 foot 3 or more, very strong and runs in forceful straight lines? Does he have a really long throw in, and can he kick the crap out of players?
  15. Not really. South Africa 2010 was tedious as the games tended to be defensive bore fests but that was after the tournament started. Everyone seemed to be enthusiastic about Brazil 2014, and there some belting games even if England did their usual. This time round, you're right. I think people have realised that the host country are the international bad guys, led by a man who'd look appropriate as the owner of a fairground in Scooby Doo. Add to that all the distraction from a circus of inept and crazy world leaders and I think people have generally forgotten it's happening soon.
  16. Feeney is a Bosman? That's a help to the wage budget.
  17. Charlie Adam, maybe but a big fat no for Ireland. He's hardly played a game in 5 years, and is obviously mentally weak. A complete waster.
  18. Cool, we might get Kennedy Bakirloglu, Mads Jorgensen and Cherno Samba depending on which year they're playing.
  19. Anyone have a clue who these investors buying Sunderland are? It sounds a bit weird with a non league chairman leaving to be the face of this group. Maybe it is The Tribunal.
  20. Since the Chinese club in for him is offering 2 million bottles of wine, perhaps 1 million pints of thwaites might swing it.
