  1. Believe it when it happens.
  2. I can imagine a cash strapped club with a bent chairman doing that Leonard. Football is as crooked as politics when you shine a light on it.
  3. BBC are saying that Ashley Cole is talking to Frank Lampard's Derby County. No surprise really.
  4. I think his name popped up in the Mueller investigation sometime last year as part of a money laundering scheme with one of Donald Trump's sons. https://thesternfacts.com/trump-jr-now-tied-to-banker-behind-russian-money-laundering-scheme-6664d24642fc A bit more information on the allegations. http://www.cisarbitration.com/2017/02/28/money-laundering-allegations-by-kyrgyzstan-against-latvian-investor-resurface-in-paris-cour-dappel/ https://www.acerislaw.com/valeri-belokon-v-kyrgyz-republic-money-laundering-investment-arbitration/ So it seems it is a choice of what kind of terminal disease they prefer.
  5. As long as there's no Jay Bothroyd style signings at the deadline......
  6. My friend's cousin is a British Yemini who trains with Ingle. Hope he's not up to any naughtiness.
  7. So there are no unscheduled visits to the boxer's home or training camps as is the case with athletics.
  8. I grew to really like him as he got past his morose teenager stage. Not sure about his mum though. She always seems to be that kind of pushy parent that will have a tennis champion as a child no matter what. There's probably a Stuart Murray locked in the attic for over 20 years because he was born with hands like Alex Brooker and hated sport.
  9. How strict is the drug testing regime in boxing? I was listening to fighting talk a couple of weeks ago and John Rawlings had a rant at cycling being dirty. In defence of cycling, they are trying to impose a strict regime after the many scandals. I've not heard of any mandatory drug tests for boxers.
  10. So if that all goes ahead, Blackpool would be taken off Oyston's hands and then dismantled and shut down to recoup money. Is that basically the effect on the club?
  11. They must be doing worse than expected. I wonder if daddy chucked them a few quid and the phone number of a couple of clients to swing that deal.
  12. Let's all laugh at the Aussies!. Well done India, you deserve it for playing hard and not letting them off the hook when you have the edge. Hopefully when the cheats come back they'll be broken by their crocodile tears and lack of top level action.
  13. Anderson must have passed the fit and proper test even if he is like a Donald Trump type when it comes to paying what is due. I bet his takeover is our version of John Spano taking over the New York Islanders Ice hockey team.
  14. I would avoid Chapman. Legs like Brandy snaps, and he'll be as bad as Grella.
  15. When Ipswich go down, and Paul scuttles off, Paul will possibly go to India (where Phil Brown is now), Singapore/Brunei or if he is lucky Australia. Then he'll move back here to a league 1 club when everyone has forgotten how crap he has been since Norwich.
  16. Sounds like we should loan out Smallwood instead. I always like it when youth players come through, though I do expect him to be dropped for Smallwood when he's available again.
  17. What happened with Livermore from West Brom? I read on the BBC he got involved with Travis, but it didn't go into detail.
  18. My timing was a bit out but every year for the last 10, any player who does well is moved out of Coventry City ASAP to pay for SISU's legal bills as they sue the council for the 45th time. Maddison of Leicester city is the most obvious example, but there was also Gudmonsson, now at Cardiff, Christie now at Fulham,Wilson of Bournemouth, and other players not so well known like Frank Moussa, Carl Baker, Marc McNulty and Leon Clarke who all did well in whichever league the club was in, and then shipped out asap. No manager can ever do well when the core of the squad moves on and is replaced by free transfers or players like Marcus Tudgay or Marvin Sordell every summer.
  19. To be fair to Tony, SISU constantly stripped any players of value every season, and constantly downgraded the squad. Think of the period when Rhodes and Gestede were replaced by Defonseou and Brown. Except every transfer window.
  20. Feeling a bit less confident than a week or two ago. In that in-between stage where I don't want to say sack the manager, but also a bit worried that a long decline may be forming.
  21. If that's how it turns out, we're stupid. Smallwood red card, so expect a loss.
  22. Just came up on BT Score, Basham got a second yellow.
  23. How's Benny B playing at today? I assume he is playing as a full striker, not an 'inside forward' or whatever.
  24. Names please. There will be someone really good, but unless we know who they are it is empty talk. I would want this mystery person thoroughly scrutinised before we sack Mowbray, and not just appointed because we now hate Tony. Or Judian Ali may finally become a reality!
