  1. No I can't. Sure, we could try to see if a third ex-Klopp coach nails it, and it will be like Pochettino replacing Adkins but it has to be the right person. At the right time. However, this is Venkys and we are just as likely to spin the tombola and end up with another 'outstanding candidate' in the mould of Coyle. Spinning the tombola now would be a risk. Even if Tony was replaced by someone like you have mentioned, everyone here will want him binned if we have a phase where we have 1 win in the last 5 games.
  2. Who though? We'd all love a championship Klopp or Pep type, but I'm not sure I can think of a dynamic manager like that.
  3. He will probably make us a reasonable championship team, but we may need a change in the next few seasons to get promoted again. Not sure who would be the person to come in for that. Perhaps the Norwich manager if they get promoted, struggle and then get Pardew or Big Sam in to try the short term fix.
  4. .....bum. Don't know what to think, as we were good early on in the season and now we are on a bad run. I'm reluctant to start on the 'every player is plop and sack the manager' bandwagon, but it has suddenly gone wobbly. Maybe we should avoid relegation and then hire Ole GS when he leaves Man Utd!
  5. A goalkeeper called Kalinic I think, not Nickolai.
  6. Scrolled down too quickly and thought you were saying that Jerome Anderson is still paid here for a second. Anyway, Bolton have been passed around amongst some right charlatans in the last few years. Almost echoes of Portsmouth.
  7. On Marlon Broomes, I remember him being in a four four two article as part of a 20 brilliant young players thing. I think Rio Ferdinand was another name. I also went to a match at Stamford bridge, probably around the time Kidd was the manager and saw him get sent off for fighting with Vialli.
  8. How big is the gap between the domestic 1 day game and the Big Bash and the IPL? Glen has had flashes of brilliance with the bat, but not the heights of a few years ago. His fielding however has been consistently brilliant, and he can be a useful bowler.
  9. Glenn is past his best in the 1 day formats. He's been hit and miss for a few years. I was watching Australia Vs India last night, and both teams could not bat. The bowlers were strangling the runs in both innings, with only Pujara emulating Rahul Dravid with his century. Without Smith and Warner Australia are very brittle, and Indian batsmen can't cope with real pace on an Aussie pitch. So many were out waving the bat about and edging it to the slips and gully region.
  10. I saw loads of 'they are funding the club so hooray, let's forget about everything' messages on the comments under the photo on Facebook. Probably the people who also were most hostile to those who protested.
  11. Give him a trial before signing him, so we have more of an idea whether he is past it.
  12. Time for AJ to either fight the winner of the inevitable rematch or get in there first. I can understand why he was a bit dubious about fighting in the USA with their judges, but come on. Stop being greedy with 80/20 splits etc. and get it done. That's assuming that he wins his next fight against what's his name.
  13. Huth on the sort of deal Mike E suggests would be good. Jones would never come here unless we went up and he's hardly looking great as I type.
  14. I want him to succeed, but I find it curious he has not been given a chance to since he arrived.
  15. True, but that is one game. For £6m or so, I'd have thought he'd be used more often, as a striker. Danny Graham is in his 30's so he will get tired eventually.
  16. It's weird that Ben has never really got a run. I can't help but think he's not doing it in training, and Tony realises he blew it with the big fee. And what happened to that Davenport? He seems to be more elusive than Dickson Etuhu.
  17. I'd avoid Cashley. As Tom Stinney said, he may be another Danny Murphy, or worse, a Bradley Orr.
  18. He'll probably get us to a consistent 8th-12th place if he lasts until 2022, just like Bowyer early on, but I'm not sure about promotion. Still, better than the last few outstanding candidates we have had to endure since 2010.
  19. Whenever he loses out, he plays the race card. Not a Tory candidate for mayor-racism. Not been captain of England all his career-racism. He's a pathetic, arrogant fool who damages the message of those who actually do stand up to racism.
  20. Sorry I drifted off towards the end again. Having read a lot about the 1930's and the second world war things are scary. More so in this age when people use social media to wish Kanye West's kids get cancer etc. River Plate need a really strong punishment to try and stop this sort of thing.
  21. Mowbray has made the club feel normal again. Will he get us to the Premier League? Maybe, but not this season. Is he better than the last guy, or a few before him? Oh yes. Look at where the likes of Tranmere, Grimsby, Oldham, Blackpool and Swindon have been. All were in the Premier League, or nearly got there at one point, and one even became non league. A similar kind of tail spin and corrosion may have happened with our club if Coyle stayed on, or Venky's used their managerial tombola again.
  22. Several Boca players had bad cuts to their face. Maybe a few of the River Plate fans could get into UKIP as some sort of 'Falklands advisor'. They don't mind a bit of football factory nonsense in their ranks. To get back on topic, if I had the power, I'd just award the standard 3-0 win to Boca, band River Plate from continental competition for 5 years at least. This sort of thing is tolerated a lot more over there than here, as in Western Europe though that may change with the world's march towards Fascism.
  23. Yes. I don't want to join in the hysteria after every terrible result as there have not been that many. If/when we are 2 points away from relegation after no wins in 7 games then I'll be calling for Tony to go, saying our squad is all scum who must die and so on.
  24. Probably the first absolute hammering this season. Sounds like a shambles, but last time the club was in this division it happened almost every game. Hopefully it will shake out any complacency.
  25. My sister is a partner at Wright Hassall in Leamington. Usually makes me smile. And like you, I cannot believe how can incompetent tit like Ridsdale is still in football. He messed up Cardiff City as well didn't he?
