  1. Prediction: In: none ('we tried') Out: Batty, Pears, Leonard Overall: 5/10 window. We are not stronger than before it started and are desperately light on Championship experience. Some interesting signings but we are in for a tough, tough season
  2. Had this exact thought all day. Could get ugly.
  3. Let’s be honest, if that was us we would all be delighted to get BBD. You certainly can’t say Derby aren’t going for it.
  4. Talks the talk, so far very much not delivering in results. I like him and have enjoyed his approach. Seems to be professional and ruthless, which is needed. Clearly commands respect. The Travis comments were too far though. He needs to start delivering very, very soon though. Nothing else matters. His record suggests that might be a pipe dream…….
  5. Would anyone take Dennis on a free? Released by Forest. Obviously utter crap on his loan last year, but arguably a class above anything we have now and has some pedigree. Not sure I would but better than nothing and we probably couldn’t afford him. Intrigued and excited by the Gudjohnson signing. Gamble but hopefully it pays off. Pears - what the hell is going/has gone on there? Is he just gonna disappear for the season while we pay him. Not a sniff of a transfer, hardly surprising, but it’s a bizarre situation. My guess is he was one of the ‘core’ Eustace lads, most of who are now gone.
  6. Crap afternoon. Some fight in the second half but was game over when they scored. Wasn’t disastrous. Well, Gueye was. Early, but the league table is bleak already. 1 in 4 is not good enough. Huge, huge work to do.
  7. Oh dear. Been poor with little attacking threat again. Tavares and Kargbo struggling. Hull masked a few clear issues with the team and tactics, they’re awful. 1 in 4 is not good.
  8. First window in how long that we won't be loaning players? Truly a change in strategy this summer. Proof will be in the pudding, but it certainly isn't dull.....
  9. A season in transition and a finish in mid table. 15 years into the ownership. Project number……? Please. I don’t believe that is acceptable, especially with the money made in the last 2 years on incomings. It’s called managed decline, and exactly why JDT and Eustace left.
  10. Another happy day in this storied ownership. I’m moving past the phase of anger to just utter apathy - the lack of professionalism at the club is embarrassing. I’d be appalled to be associated with it. They treat us like fools and underlings. If only they knew the passion, knowledge and talent in this fan base. Ignorance and arrogance born out of silver spoons and misplaced authority. It really is, above all else, sad. “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
  11. Apologies if mentioned already - is this being shown on TV or RoversTV?
  12. Derby having a very, very good window. Just signed a CM who’s been on the books of Liverpool and RB Salzburg. Meanwhile….
  13. ZERO chance we spend anything more than 1m on a player. Likely ever again. A marquee signing would also require marquee wages. That is also not happening.
  14. 3-1 WBA. Threadbare squad, lacking badly in quality, and no time for any of the new signings to 'bed in' over pre-season, except De Neve, who isn't very good.
  15. All the best Callum, good player and I hope he does well for himself. Players voting with their feet and can you blame them? Absolutely obvious the players that are leaving/not signing contracts are not convinced of the future direction of the club. Expect Travis to go next. Replacing them with cheaper, inferior players will lead to one outcome. The squad is incredibly thin as it stands. Bleak.
  16. Baradji and Miller. Still leaves us very short. Hedges at RW all season is purgatory. McLoughlin is not as good as Baath either so we need someone better. I have a feeling someone is going to bid for Travis before the window closes and he will be off like a shot. Hope there is something going on we have no idea about. The comments about having some money are somewhat encouraging, but we have been here before. QUALITY needed. Sorely lacking and the business other teams are doing is stronger. Hoping we are all surprised…….
  17. McGloughlin and De Neve looked exceptionally poor. Concerning but in De Neve’s case, not at all surprising with his career to date. Toth looks far more confident. Trav is checked out with half his mates gone. Good Kargobo goal. Gueye will never be a good finisher. We are much, MUCH weaker as a team/squad compared to last year. It’s not even a debate. Huge window remaining - my hopes are minimal to non-existent.
  18. Down to the very 'core' of supporters buying season tickets now - those who would buy a season ticket regardless of owner, league or situation. And all credit to them. The club will know this, hence the price rises to capitalise on revenue. There is zero effort to: 1. Increase season ticket sales to NEW supporters 2. Try and entice old season tickets holders back. Countless examples where people have not renewed and the club have not followed up. Those two things take a bit of commercial nouse and principally, effort. Two things sorely lacking at the club for many years. I have said this for a long time, the club is not interested in the supporters as we have no material impact on the P&L. The controllable lines (expenses & running costs) have been adjusted down to improve operating profit, in addition to sales revenue. We are all witnessing the lack of reinvestment. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
  19. I read the following and doesn't it just sum up what a short sighted and miserable call it was to essentially defund the women's team. There had to be another solution to keeping the team professional, despite the challenges. A really poor look for Rovers as a club and its reputation. 'Georgia Stanway, Keira Walsh, and Ella Toone were all once on the books of Blackburn Rovers, and all three started the match'
  20. What an experience for Dolan. I hope he makes a success of it and he goes with my best wishes. Opportunity to play in La Liga, against opposition like Real Madrid and Barcelona. From where he started that is a phenomenal achievement, one he's earned through hard work. Venkys Rovers or Barcelona.....not hard is it.
  21. Derby are spending a good amount of cash. However....in their shoes, would we be happy as fans? The players they are signing didnt manage to get Rovers into the playoffs last year and lets not forget Eustace hadn't won a game with them in 11. The football was bleak. Obviously, I'd rather we kept (some) of them and we were spending. Perhaps Eustace is still rather bitter.....
  22. What is becoming more and more evident is the owners view Rovers as a line on a P&L (and have for some time). Pasha and Gestede's job is to make that line look better. Fans do not fit into that equation. They do not believe we can fundamentally impact profits (decline in season tickets makes v little difference so not much incentive for them to increase them). The total lack of commercial capability or strategy further illustrates they don't see that as a worthwhile revenue stream. Ultimately: 1. Money in is from transfers, TV rights and through the league, (they think the academy but this model is broken) 2. Money out: wages, transfer fees, 'running' costs, Wages, transfer fees and running costs (including women's team) are controllable, hence all three being slashed. Running costs they fund to the minimum. Grim times with us, the fans, being held in utter contempt and apathy.
