  1. Not sure what the point is arguing the value or quality of the two squads. It is quite obvious that we would be worth a bit more now after selling off everything of value and not reinvesting it - we had little choice but to hope our academy could produce and try to work off bargain signings/freebies. Nyambe, Travis, Lenihan, all established now and on their own probably add more value to our squad than what we had left prior to relegation due to their age and experience in this league. They are now throwing in Buckley as well as they probably see some profit in him (though he doesnt look physically capable yet for me). Dack, Rothwell, Chapman, Samual, Davenport and Bell were youngish cheap punts on potential and while Dack is the standout, the others wouldn't have lost all that much in value. Evans might get a fee of less than a mil. That's about it really. The issue is the 15 million we spent on strikers. Are they worth that 15 million? Would we get that back for them? Not a chance in hell. AA, has pace, scores the odd goal - might get similar to what we paid if lucky. Gallagher, works hard, has the physical attributes to be a good player but doesn't seemingly know how to use them - 2 mil at best. BB, what to say really? Could his time here have been better if he was plunged into the striker spot earlier rather than being asked to play on the wing? Either way, you aint getting a mil for that boy judging on what we have seen so far.
  2. Yes i remember that too - he was the 4th fittest out of the entire squad I remember reading.
  3. Putting Crygate to one side, the BB transfer has been a disaster from day 1. He didn't even want to come here initially from what I recall - being so far from from family and friends at a young age. Have to remember that he is still a young lad but the fee combined with never really getting a sustained run in the side and in his actual position has essentially drained all confidence it seems. Not sure I see any future here for him now and it would be best for him and us to draw a line under his time here now and find him another club where he can have a fresh start.
  4. Never claimed that I do. I would put my house on it being a lot more than 10k a week - we have bigger earners here and he was signed by a PL team.
  5. Clearly the report is wrong. What was he on at QPR then? 50 quid a week? He was purchased by a PL club so will no doubt be on at least double that (probably more)
  6. I thought loan players couldn't win it, hence why we had little choice but to give it to the poor man's Martin Ollsson
  7. Not a bad goal scored a month ago. https://artyfooty.com/skills/run/niklas-schmidt-run-skill-goal-vs-hamburger/
  8. To be fair, we are top of offsides in the league and AA is a big reason for that.
  9. Delayed reply. Yes but we lose out a lot more this way. Serious injury and no cash to replace him with/strenghten the team. His contract will also be a lot shorter by the time he gets back and therefore less valuable. We do not even know how well he recover. Bad situation all around and i would certainly have chosen him to be sold over this injury.
  10. Best festive memory, well you can scrub off last night.
  11. Fairly standard although that was poorer than most. Usually offers flashes here and there and is capable of grabbing a goal. He, like us as a team seems to struggle against teams looking to defend and counter. His pace is best utilized with us being the fast counterattacking team rather than the other way around.
  12. Worst player for us to have injured. i would certainly take the 6-8 weeks though compared to the rest of the season. We do have Holtby but he is more creator than goalscorer so we would have to rely on others around him to up their game, ie Arma, Rothwell or whoever else plays either side of him. it is either that or going two up top or somehow finding a replacement (perhaps even a loan).
  13. Between them they cost close to 20x what we paid for Dack You would bloody hope that it works.
  14. Come on lads, give us the best Christmas present ever. 3 points and cook unemployed before the start of 2020!!!
  15. When I looked they were all going nuts about our physio more than anything else. Thought it was completely OTT, not like they were going to score. We won because of our physio apparently ?
  16. If leeds fck it up this year, it must go down as their most monumental of all monumental fck ups in recent years lol (and there have been a few) - I WILL LOVE IT Remember that Leeds dude that came on here last season so arrogant and confident about how they will win the league. Larging it up over hollginism and all that - 60 years old too apparently.
  17. Derby fans are actually missing Johnson more than they thought they would be. The downside to what they did by loaning in all these top quality players is that they ultimately failed to get up, pissed off a lot of their permanent pros (ie Johnson) who lost out because they were brought in, and are now a shit ton weaker than they were last season. Dont even think the Rooney effect will do much for them. Great player, great career but i dont think there is much left there now, especially for a league like the Championship.
  18. I am not too sure we can exactly sit on the high horse with that one considering we bought somebody for 7 million who rarely makes the starting 11. In fact, can we just stop buying 'anyone' for 7 million. Seems to be our cursed number. Didnt we get Grabbi and Davies for 7 mil each?
