  1. I think that Nyambe is one big reason for our upturn in form to be honest. He has been a lot braver going forward, was probably the second best player on the pitch versus Brentford and without his first time pass to Dack away to Stoke we would not have won. Definitely number one RB in my book and he deserves a good run. He does have the odd slip up I admit, but not nearly as many as a right winger playing in his position. It is always worth upgrading in all positions but for me, LB, Gk, and CB are priority areas that need strengthening. Midfield is fine for now while up front we have 15 million worth of talent (apparently). Tosin has been great with Lenihan but lets be honest, there is more chance of me stealing Dacks missus than there is us signing him up permanently. I dont think Williams is the answer despite some decent performances and besides, we need strengthening there anyway. LB, well, thats our massive weak link right now despite Downing doing a good job there (and he is 35).
  2. Very highly rated but I would rather we concentrated on developing our own expensively assembled strikers. DG is coming to the end, so we need our own players to step up. Gallager looks like he might have something to offer played centrally. Furthermore, the goals shipped column is the one we should be working on right now (groundhog day).
  3. Going on past 'attempts' he is nailed on to start next season.
  4. Downing made the Championship Team of the Month, so think we should persevere with him there for the time being. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/12040/11877437/championship-team-of-the-month-for-november
  5. Actually, he started his career as a CB for Villa and was used on the left-side of back three at Bristol City. So it is a little off to say that he has always been a LB.
  6. I think time is running out for him. He would at least need to prove he can cut it L1 out on loan next season. Magloire who is younger at 20 went straight to L1 - unfortunately injury cut that short.
  7. Did a good/decent job just about everywhere except us lol
  8. I think we will get targeted there no matter who we put there from Bell, Williams, Bennett or Downing. At least with the latter, he has won both games in a row from there and looked excellent getting forward. I agree that he has not really been overly tested defensively as of yet. Plus, he is by far our best set-piece taker so should really be on the pitch somewhere if possible. He is not completely alien to the position either, played there quite a bit for Liverpool. LB is still a priority for January though.
  9. He had plenty of end product at the end of last season when given a run. I think it would be fair to judge after another consistent run of games. Armstrong has created more chances and scored more goals simply because he has been ever-present in the lineup.
  10. Warhurst actually began as a CB before being moved up front as an emergency striker at Wednesday. He then came here and was played in midfield. If there was ever a player from the past that TM would love to have here - it would be him. Generally though, these positional changes often bear immediate fruit and those players are usually just one player out of position rather than the 2 or 3 we have had under TM. Think Chris Sutton, Dion Dublin, Warhurst, Henry - these all bore fruit straight away. Gallagher on the wing (inverted forward or whatnot) never looked like working, as did Bennett at LB, BB as a wide forward, or even Dack being utilised as the lone striker.
  11. Wow - great to know that we have fans from all over the world. Now we can add an Argentinian to the Mexican that we have on these boards.
  12. Or TM finally did what many of us have been asking for and started playing players in their correct positions (bar Downing who many had said he should be tried at LB considering the other poor options we have their) and then put his tombola away and kept the same team.
  13. Dont know but it seems that this forum cannot handle the nose bleed. Been trying to get in here for hours.
  14. He shouldnt be dropped - he needs a run of games. Everybody else has been given them despite not playing at their best. Besides, looking at the interview with the Stoke manager before the game, they had already highlighted the danger of Rothwell having seen our game against Brentford. Quite clear that he was not given quite the free run that Brentford allowed him. We need as many danger men on the pitch as possible, they cannot mark them all out of the game. Give him a run in the team like he was at the end of last season and you will get a lot more good than bad from him.
  15. Its almost like he wants to sell him so that he can willy wave to the owners about how much profit he made from 750k. Keeps harping on about James Maddisson at Coventry - how did TM do there after he sold him?
  16. Highly doubt that these are factual figures. Chapman earning more than 7 million man Brereton?
  17. Good time to start supporting the club, you're certainly right that it has been a slog in the last decade.
  18. Ah, that infamous L1 game where we played 2 LBs to counter their RB.
  19. He was poor in that game but a lot of that was down to us being in his face. Generally though, he is a top player at this level. Brentford slapped a 30 million asking price on him during the summer.
  20. You would think they have to - adds more value to his transfer fee if anyone comes calling.
  21. Didnt Smallwood refuse to play for the kids a while back? Perhaps it was the same thing here. Think he will be off in January.
