Was a joke really about the price of average players skyrocketing. Still, I have a better feeling about Davenport compared to Byrne, at least he has shown he can standout in a Championship team. Burton fans really rated him.

Season Preview

We kept hold of all the players we wanted to and even some we didnt really want to but are now hopefully about to add some signings. Just two in right now but we really need two wingers, at least one (preferably two) addition up front and a rough and ready centre back. Get all that and we will consolidate (at least) in the Championship. Nerves are twitching here though as its all gone very quiet on the transfer front. -
Davenport could be a real coup though at 500k with this increase in fees - could be worth 25 mil by next season lol

Selling rovers memorabilia

Not sure you will get many offers for that one. Otherwise a very nice collection. -
Football really has gone mad - it will surely go pop eventually if average young players are going for 50 million in the PL and the likes of Gallacher are going to set you back 7 million in the Championship.

He mainly played in the 10 role yes but could also play on the right side of the three behind and also in CM. That being said, yes he was either someone we were not looking at or he didnt want to play a bit-part behind Dack. Still on paper a better signing than Rothwell who could not get in the team ahead of Payne most weeks, who could not get in ours most weeks. Consistently in the L! team of the year in previous seasons too. Hope Rothwell comes good of course and we just have to trust TM on this one.

We had this conversation before on here. It looks confusing with his stats but I would imagine many were off the bench. It was his own fans that said he was injury plagued - https://yellowsforum.co.uk/threads/joe-rothwell.929/

Think quite a few including me suggested we should have moved for him.

Fully deserved a new contract to put him what should be among the better paid players (apart from Evans who really does not deserve his current wage). He pissed L1 and was voted the leagues best player so on that basis alone he should be at minimum a competent Championship player and probably much better than that in my view. Also adds to his value should a club come calling and allows us to (hopefully) add or increase a minimum release clause. Its a no-brainer as no matter what his wage (as long as sensible at this level) we will not lose anything from Dack as he will either propel us to promotion or be sold for megabucks in a few years time.

Maddison has to have been responsible for a big chunk of Marriotts goals which means Graham and (new striker or two please) will be able to benefit from that too. It will also be interesting to see how Marriott copes at a new club if there is nobody quite on the same wavelength as Maddison was to supply him. Marriott is the big gamble of the two of them in my opinion especially at 3x the cost.

I would snap their hands off at that price but i reckon its double that at least.

Doubt there will be a rush to sign a new contract from Dacks side, his agent will be in his ear to hold tight on what any incomings might be earning. He will surely want parity with any of those and our current big earners.
-
Agree 3 million is not much in todays inflated market. Young player that will only increase in value and if we dont snap him up, can see somebody else having no problem shelling out that amount. Only issue as others have said is his wages - anyone know what he would be on at Newcastle?
-
Samuel didnt even start upfront tonight - Dack did (which highlights both our shortage in the striking department and the fact that Samuel would not be deemed a good enough as a striker)
-
Wouldnt be too disappointed with that but we do need numbers in.

Logo kills it for me - both the colour and the design of it. Looks like a bomb or a toilet seat and ruins what would otherwise be a semi-decent kit for me. Not the best, not the worst but decent. Not one will be buying this time around. Do hope we are saved with the away kit but with that logo I highly doubt it.

Difference between JH and Biz is that JH doesnt have that arrogant undertone whereby I am so much more intelligent than you so please bow down. Not always agreed with JH but you know he has a class about him.
-
Plus - Oldham fans were questioning us signing Rothwell when Payne couldnt make our team - Payne started ahead of Rothwell for them.

Striker is massively important as DG is not getting any younger. He can usually only last 70 minutes as it is and we should really be looking at getting somebody in that would hopefully be able to fight him for the shirt this year and replace him after next season. I can understand a loan alongside a permanent transfer up front but not as the only striker we bring in. Thats before we even think about wingers or the inverted ones we have been playing with behind DG which we desperately need as well. A new CB would be the next priority after those. I really hope it is just a slow window and not the Venksters pulling off their usual crap.

That reads to me that we want a young PL player on loan again - no mention of perm signings really. Hope he is just keeping things close to his chest.
-
Would love to see England win a World Cup in my lifetime of course but it will always be an aside to the club that I love. Would anyone have swapped our PL triumph for an England World Cup win?
-
Two signings in 233 pages, thats roughly one per 100. Keep chatting guys and get it up to 300 and we will have another.
-
Gallagher on loan isnt that bad - think there is a slight overreaction if it is indeed true. People saying about his heading ability but we dont generally play it in the air. As long as its not our main 'striker' signing then I have no problem with it as he can also play as one of the three behind. Still would prefer it was a perm move though.

Now thats a mouthful.

Now yours is - just edges it I think.
