I don't, I think he's dreadful, but football is a game that divides opinion. Hope he comes good, but a bit like Leo, I don't see any outstanding attributes.

I remember Hughes had a maxim of prioritising very good strikers: Bellamy, Benni, Roque.. If you have people at the top end that can score the opposition have to think.. Then someone keeping them out- it ain't rocket science.. Yesterday we had Wahlsted at one end and Leonard at the other.. I'd not be confident with them in league 2.

Jason Steele all over again. Sickens me. Robinson was shite, then Kean, then we had Steele.. Raya was a breath of fresh air and the switch to him from Steele almost saw us survive. Bombed him out and then brough in another sub-standard keeper that ruined our play-off chances before unearthing another quality keeper in Kaminski. Letting those two go (Raya/Kaminski) for £5m (not including add-ons) is absolutely shocking business. Cast your mind back to last season. Kaminski won us so many points, pulling outrageous saves out the bag whilst making the saves you'd expect/hope him to make. This meant we could sneak 1-0's when we really didn't deserve anything- our XG was appalling last season yet we were touching play-offs all year. I'd argue that was down to our keeper(s). Selling Kaminski was a massive error of judgement. I genuinely fear for us. I hope to god Pears comes back steady or we're in the shite. I'd be looking for an experienced steady head inbetween the sticks to organise and reinstill some confidence in our defence. Pears a decent(ish) back up and Wahlsted can go off on loan to a lower league side. He's not good enough. To compare him to Raya is perhaps unfair, but at his age Raya was earning rave reviews winning games on loan for Southport. Wahlsted is nowhere near that level. I'd go as far to say he doesn't exhibit any outstanding attritbutes. In such a key position, perhaps harsh, but I'd be looking to sell him on.

Gallagher is an asset, big lad, very mobile- if we played with wingers that crossed the ball I think he'd do much better. The majority of his time with Rovers has been spent in wide forward positions- even from there his pressing and work-rate is tremendous. If you think we're going to replace him with 1.5 million you're off your head. It's not happening. As someone else suggested, he'll get sold and we'll bring a loan in if we're lucky. If Gallagher is being sold then it has to be of benefit (unlike Kaminski) financially so we can get an adequate replacement. I'd be asking for 3-4 million. If you don't pay it then he stays- simple. Play him down the middle when he's back and try whipping a few balls into the box. Only Rovers could lose: Brereton, Rothwell, Kaminski, Lenihan, Gallagher for a net 3.5 million. That's why the club's fucked.

To say I'm not a fan of Venkys is an understatement, but remember under Mogga, the season prior we had signed Breo, Arma, Gally and then the added Harvey Elliot etc. That was our opportunity and it was squandered. We've had some class players of the past few years.

I think we need a keeper, a striker and a quick wide forward/winger.. GK: Tim Krull type ST: Forest, Wolves, Palace must have someone knocking around in he reserves with bit of experience. Winger: Someone rapid.

If you actually look at Steeles stats at Brighton he has been atrocious there too- his period between the sticks coincided with Brighton shipping goals for fun. He hasn't had a miraculous transformation. Raya was already quality when he was here, quite clearly the best young goalkeeper in the country- sold him for a pittance. Kaminski was quality, saved us countless times at the start of last season- we accrued points we had no right to. This season those shots go in and then there's a mistake or two every game. We've gone from last season needing a goal to win a game due to having a class keeper to needing 2 or 3. We just don't have the team to do that- when we go chasing we leave gaps everywhere and are so vulnerable. I'd be out there right now finding a proper keeper in the Kaminski mould or I genuinely fear for us. I think that's the difference between us being around the play-offs or bottom 8 at the moment.

I thought Telalovic (7.5) had a great game- ahead of Leonard & Ennis now for me. Trondstadt always looks good, great little player. I thought both Hill and Hyam were poor today. Brittain poor, Pickering as ever 6/10 Garrett was decent, 6.5 Szmodic needs to be more involved, 6.5 Ennis looks like he's running in quick sand... hope the lad comes good but not seen much in him if I am honest.. Carter looked good when he came on, got everything in his locker that lad. Moran looked very bright on the ball- 7 Wharton, always looks for that forward pass, just like to see a bit more urgency in his tracking up and down.. A very unspectacular, dodgy at the back performance. I must be watching a different player, he's worked hard, held up the ball, got a few shots off and linked play up well. Done more in 30 mins than Ennis and Leonard to suggest he's got something to him...

Telalovic is having a great game!!

I see four glaring weaknesses in our current squad- centre halves not being one of them.. Goalkeeper: Bring back Kaminski- how many times did the save us at the start of last season? Our XG was terrible yet we were pushing top of the league for ages... Loan in an experienced no1 to steady our defence and tutor the younger keepers.. Lack of pace: Absolutely no pace in the side. One paced is an understatement. As a counterattacking side it's vital to have players that can stretch the game a bit. I can't think of one. Could do with two Khadra types. No striker, no focal point, it's embarrassing. Got to be addressed. Centre midfield is woefully short, we need a Rothwell replacement. If we addressed those issues in January, the GK and lack of pace especially I think we'd look a good side.

I said this against Watford, what I'd give for a Khadra, even a Rothwell- we're so predictable and lack any kind of dynamism/flair. Needs addressing!

Leonard doesn't have the attributes to play as a lone striker. He's neither fast, strong or good in the air. Perhaps he'd be better suited to playing off a big man like Gallagher in a front two. As it stands though I personally feel like he offers nothing. You'd be made up playing against him as a centre half. This might seem like an attack on Leonard- it's not, I just don't think his skill-set is suited to the role he's being asked to play and our style of play. He'd be better going out on loan. I'd prefer to see Ennis or Telalovic given a go. We're really lacking a Rothwell and a Khadra too. We've absolutely no creativity or pacy out-let. Decimated by injuries and lack of investment.

What a bad move for Buckley.. I can see him slipping through the leagues after this.. He's just not athletic enough. Coasts through games. Shame. Can anyone see him coming back in Jan and getting in ahead of Trondstadt, JRC, Travis, Wharton.. Think the lads really got his work cut out now..

I think Brittain, Carter, Wharton, Hyam are all very good defenders. I think they're lacking protection and a good goalkeeper behind them. You can't carry a lazy Wharton and a poor keeper, you're bound to leak goals. I'd be dropping both if we had more options. Wahlsted and Tronsdadt deserve a go in my opinion. Wharton needs a rocket!
