  1. Forgot to note that Lowe shows up at Salford and the manager is gone within weeks. The Jason Lowe managerial grayeyard expands to Salford. Football's ultimate misery magnet so I'm not complaining that he's ended up there!
  2. Funniest scenario ever if they were left behind. Of course they were the first club to benefit from the "champions" league qualifying for 98/99 as runners up to Arsenal. Real fair play there UEFA! Speaking of "left behind" Jones has been omitted from their Premier League squad (limit of 25) for rest of season.
  3. I bet in 1989 nobody said "that Jack Walker should buy Rovers". Yet it would have made more sense than suggesting the Issas should. Jack's involvement with the club (aside from buying tickets of course) went back to at least 1979 (sponsorship) and possibly before that. Euro Garages aren't even a sponsor.
  4. Yes THEY got it wrong. I certainly didn't! Would be rather pedantic to send him a correction on Twitter though I suppose.
  5. Jack's actions even solved a murder. What a guy! Considering that Ewood is Jack's real legacy (alongside the title win and of course his success in business) of course it's important that the stadium be maintained. Particularly the Jack Walker stand. On the other hand it's all very superficial because people don't realise image and mentality should go hand in hand.
  6. It's the hypocrisy and the nerve of Neville to compare himself to Jack Walker that's the problem. All likes of Neville did (that is people associated with Man United) was sneer at Jack and moaned about "buying the title". Lim's the guy putting the big money in what exactly have Neville and the other prats contributed besides media publicity?
  7. Wonder if Ferguson, Moyes, Redknapp, etc have sent any messages. Not as deserving of sympathy as Kean I guess.
  8. Maybe Wigan won't be on board with this brazen plot then? Can guarantee they would have with that FUP backing hypocrite Whelan in charge. Salford City another example of downright hypocrisy given their obvious link.
  9. As if Leeds fans don't hate him enough already.
  10. He's spoken out against FUP in past as well. Mentioned Jack Walker unlike most people on here when the subject comes up.
  11. He's said nothing about FUP so why would he say anything about this? Not to mention disparaging Jack in his (latest) autobiography.
  12. Wonder if that's why Rashford was on front page of Sun other day. All part of a PR game. That club don't do anything charitable without a self serving reason. Not surprised they would try to exploit the Coronavirus situation either. Liverpool not much better.
  13. It does not explain why Al-Khelaifi (and his cousin at Malaga where FUP has killed any major ambition) didn't buy another English club. It also does not explain why the club wasn't sold to them in 2010 other than the Walkers might have tried to grasp more money out of them because of their evident wealth. Or for that matter considered them "too good" compared to people who didn't know what relegation was. Relegation scenarios clearly terrified the Walkers at that point (no wonder considering their influence over trustees staving the club) but once they were out of the way it wouldn't have posed a problem. Indeed I don't doubt for one moment they were cracking open the champagne in 2012.
  14. If the club came out and said Covid could be an advantage they would be a laughing stock. Not to mention it would offend a lot of people. As for intimidation. I think it's fair to say that at many clubs someone would have assaulted Kean long before he departed. On the other hand how many Championship venues are intimidating? Millwall aside and they will be first to admit you can't win promotion on that alone.
  15. Blackburn the HQ of Euro Garages and now Accrington will be getting some publicity in "the city". https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18778652.accrington-pie-owners-sell-biscuit-brand-ferrero-giants-whopping-246million/ Two huge local deals (albeit not on the Issas Asda scale) less than 14 days apart. Maybe I'm (possibly) moving away at the wrong time! Should point out that the Issas donated 20 million via their foundation last year. It will be interesting to see if the figures are equal or higher in 12 months given what a huge step they have taken. That's not to say long term failure is my prediction as few seem to be betting against them right now. Using admittedly basic inflation techniques (and no expertise on the steel industry) my calculations for Walkersteel was over 800 million.
  16. There is no divine right to local ownership. In the case of Blackburn that may be a positive thing as (Jack aside) the local mentality isn't exactly beneficial to growth. You have some shameless nerve asking the Issas to purchase the club. You come on here and make claims about Jack Walker being mean to members of your family with insufficient explanation. You say nothing about FUP yet ask the Issas to buy something they won't even be able to spend whatever they like on. Plus all the years yourself and others insisted that "nobody would want to buy Rovers" so explain why they should after all that? As for the Walker family say no more! As for the claims about being Man United fans. Is that 100% true as it's a vulgar accusation to make without absolute evidence. Even if it is it would be a stretch even with my level of hatred for United to discount their impact on the town. Plus if their children are Rovers fans that would suggest they take a deeper interest in football. Many United fans of course are very casual. Perhaps if the club went into administration they would step in (not saying that would have to be 100% they could be part of local consortium, etc) even if it wasn't long term. It's clear they value the community even if pumping millions into the local football club isn't their chosen method of philanthropy. Chances are I might not even be living in the town much longer and if that's the case I won't be coming back. I would sooner warn them about Rovers fans than persuade them at this point in my life. There's no point anyone investing in football unless they feel it's the only option (to save a club they support) or ambition which is currently deemed illegal.
  17. You will probably forget about it eventually. Other clubs have fit that description in past and it's hardly ever brought up now. Personally I'll never forget some of the things Whelan has said and done.
  18. Called Kean a true professional as well. Many journalists considered Agnew one of the worst PR men in the league. The club had the mentality of "oh well let's just speak to the Lancashire Telegraph it's all Rovers fans read and we can easily control Nield (and Cryer for a couple of years)". The trustees were already tied up in legal action with other grasping scum who deeply resented Jack's backing of Rovers. They did a lazy enough job of selling the club why make more work for themselves? ? Maybe there still is a NDA. Perhaps the 20th anniversary of Jack's death would be a good time to break it. Could be a notable date for other reasons too aside from obvious.
  19. The club certainly gave the impression they wanted him to stay. Now Duff admits he was pressured into accepting. Yet more lies then from the trustees (and club officials) under influence of you know who.
  20. I once wrote a sarcastic article about a player getting a statue and an open top bus parade. Bleacher Report removed it for satire. The first thought of many legit news sites must have been "has the BCFC Twitter account been hacked?".
  21. Yeah you said the same for that other renowned brain surgeon Woodgate.
  22. Have to wonder if Whelan's done this on purpose. Hypocritical git loves FUP perhaps this is all part of a grand scheme to get more clubs on board in future.
