  1. Trouble is when he has used five at the back it has been to try to see the game out.
  2. Very true. Have you ever known mowbray play great attacking football?
  3. A back 5 for the visit of the mighty Peterborough. No thanks. Could be lowest gate of the season tonight.
  4. For those who have an interest in non league football Bamber Bridge play Chorley in the LFA challenge cup this Tuesday night. Chorley include ex rovers Adam Henley and Willem Tomlinson. Bamber bridge include two lads on loan from Blackpool Lewis Bange and Harry Apter who are far too good for this level particularly Apter. Rodwell Grant is also at bamber bridge on loan from Preston and well known to sparksrover I think.
  5. Is mowbray brave enough to play that starting eleven away from home ? Probably not he will be worrying about the opposition rather than giving the opposition something to worry about on the counter
  6. Plenty of barmy army chants yesterday but TM blue and white army didn't seem to have a rendition. At the end in injury time there was a brief up the football league we go but by the time it got to mowbray is our king it had been drowned out by something else.
  7. What he said was that as a league 1 club he questioned the affordability of having a cat 1 acadamy and would rather have that money for the first team.
  8. Think what you like but I heard this in an interview given by mowbray
  9. The quote is 100% accurate. I remember it well.
  10. There was no thought back in 2015 to avoid an embargo with this sell off so what has changed since then? The potential housing development?
  11. If the V's are raising a 13 million mortgage as suggested with Rovers paying the interest in the form as a rent at £750,000 as suggested by Phil then they have got the vast majority of the money back immediately.
  12. The 16 million has already been spent there is nowt left. Hence this deal done 4 months ago lenihan Nyambe and rothwell no further forward in re signing if there were funds available for increased offers surely we would have seen progress in these negotiations. In my opinion it would have been better to take the hit of the transfer embargo. It would have focussed mowbray,s mind.
  13. At the end of the day the club no longer owns an asset which it previously did and is now incurring an annual expenditure to use it using money which may previously have been used too offer players improved contracts who now we'll leave for naff all. How is this a good deal for the club?
  14. Its a different company with a different board of directors. The club will be paying to use the asset.
  15. Presumably the club is now paying rent for the use of the SCT which it no longer owns. Money which it previously didn't have to find. It won't be peanuts either.
  16. Not beyond the realms of possibility Venkys offer mowbray a rolling twelve month contract at the end of his current deal. If it was possible to loan a manager Venkys would.
  17. None other than to be regularly disappointed at full time.
  18. The Cessna is struggling for range on reflection. I'm going with Lord Baltimore.
  19. Best part of 60 years a plane spotting geek
  20. Picture posted by Lord Baltimore suggests may have been a Cessna citation.
  21. To get back from Chile you are looking at an upper range biz jet due to the distances involved something like a Gulfstream 5 or global Express these don't come cheap would think £50,000 is not too wide of the mark. Your £20,000 would get you to and from Europe.
  22. My thoughts on yesterday for what they are worth. Robin's quickly identified van Hecke as the weak link and played the physical Walker against him in the first half. Van Hecke stood up to this reasonably well. Second half he plays the more nimble and agile Gyokeres against Van Hecke and he has him on toast. Mowbray can see all this but is passive about it making no attempt to disrupt Coventry dominance. There were other options for mowbray but no attempt to try them when clearly the original plan is not working. Could have gone to four at the back with Nyambe at right back with speed to counteract Gyokeres. Could have swapped van Hecke and lenihan positionally. Could have taken van Hecke off. No attempt to change the flow of the game it's like he's watching a football simulation game on a commodore 64
  23. As someone who sees a fair amount of Chorley and bamber bridge I really would not want rovers in any form playing at this level. These are very difficult leagues to get out of. Our present crowds are drawn from a wide area including bamber bridge and Chorley if rovers were playing at this level how much of what support was left would travel to Blackburn to watch this level?
  24. For those like me with no ticket for Saturday at Blackpool be aware the rearranged fixture of Chorley v Bradford PA has FREE Entry with voluntary donations for Jake Hibbs of Bradford who broke his leg in the first game and had to wait over an hour on the pitch for an ambulance.
