  1. His volley challenge performance should definitely put off any potential suitors in January. Well done Brad.
  2. “That £3 surcharge is a bit silly isn’t it? Not really a massive problem but, still.” ”Yeah” AND THEN EVERYONE GOT ON WITH THEIR LIVES
  3. None event. USA were atrocious so made it feel like an exhibition match, which it was, really. Would have been nice to see Rooney bag one though. Should be a very good game vs. Croatia. They’re a top side and the winner makes it to the final four of this Nations League thingy - the loser is relegated! ??? (I think)
  4. Delighted. I’ve seen him say a few times that he’s fitter than ever, has gone vegan etc and aims to play into his late thirties. Working his way through the UEFA coaching badges as I recall too... He’s got “future Rovers manager” written all over him! ?
  5. It’s this kind of quality content that makes me come back here day after day... And here she is ladies and gents, in all her tiny glory... Rather aptly for a PNE thread, she’s in a quite fabulous Tin Pot.
  6. I know I wasn't alone in thinking that it was crazy how our managers had to fly over and bend the knee for regular meetings when contact via phone/email etc is more practical and is usually more efficient in getting answers. Started with snakey shit Kean I believe... but now even I get suspicious when they don't go over! Cards and budget close to his chest, even if it's the square root of bugger all, is always welcomed by me.
  7. I believe you get £3 off matchday tickets too.
  8. In the interests of balance, if you can't afford a £27 match ticket then you certainly shouldn't be buying one for £24. Like you say though it's not the point. I feel another reason it has been introduced is to encourage 1875 Club sales - a guaranteed, paid up front membership and loyalty scheme... a very appealing prospect for all types of businesses.
  9. Looked immense when he came on. I had no idea how much we’d missed him.
  10. Imagine if you did all that, and got there five minutes after the £3 surcharge, you’d have to turn around and go straight back home. Gutted.
  11. Could we start a gofundme? I hate to see noses unnecessarily cut off faces. Should be about 1p each?
  12. That’s the spirit. Ban those who went on at Donny too. They ruined everything. I guarantee you that if we’re in the play offs and have a home leg that takes us to Wembley you can further ban a good couple of thousand plus exuberant supporters. That’s what this thread is about, right?
  13. 100% this. I’ve had a couple of mates who support other teams this week watch the QPR highlights and say: “QPR support is shit.” rather than “Ewood looks empty” when you see that end without the 300 or so fan goaders in Rovers’ colours in there. I imagine that 80% of teams will turn up and see practically empty away ends, with fuller home ends. It works in our favour. Sell 16k+ home tickets (achievable when we’re up there in a couple of months) and we aren’t looking so bad for visually filling the home areas that are open.
  14. Good result for the plod tonight in Sheff. Criminal that Sky Sports risk the city centre like this just for the armchair Friday fans. Said from the start of the season though that Wednesday would be in big, big trouble... they are awful... and we should end the weekend two points behind the “flying” Blades! We’ll do that by beating Rotherham too! Shaping up to be a cracking Monday for me and the rest of the South Yorkshire exiles.
  15. Another Donny one, wouldn't mind us throwing a bid in for John Marquis. Battling grafter and a very tidy finisher... reminds me of a young street-fightin' Danny Graham.
  16. Come on now. If he was an academy lad would you say the same?
  17. In the interests of balance, it’s far, far too early to say that too. For what it is worth though, I have that inkling as well and will 100% back him to the hilt. I do feel he’s going to have his work cut out to impress some people after the way it has all started, but similarly my positivity is making me easy to impress and quite forgiving. Let’s just wait and see and enjoy the ride.
  18. You should be a scout mate. Would save clubs a lot of time and money. He’s played less than two games worth of football for us. No league starts. You haven’t even seen them all. By your own logic if he has an impressive 30 minutes soon then he’s undoubtably world class. Exciting! edit - In fact, for my own amusement, a cursory search showed that you thought “the jury is out” on Dack in September ‘17, after a similar amount of minutes as Brereton has had. Maybe your powers to instantly spot a good player are on the wane?
  19. I dunno if I am... The sentiment I’m seeing is that he either has to return us miles more than 7m+, that he has to score a shit ton of goals NOW, change games and be fantastic or - he’s just going to be a bit of a flop. Because money. Because short term. Or what’s even more ridiculous - some seem to be saying that he’s already shown flashes of being amazing in order to try to get behind him. Lets be honest, we’ve seen square root of nowt. The fact that he might be a humble yet outstanding professional for his age and a hard working lad that can be an effective cog in what Tony is trying to build seems to be lost because of the reported fee. He’s international class at 19 and he’s able to effect games as he did today. He’s buying into our greatest strength - the team ethic. He’s learning what is needed, he’s doing what is asked of him and he’s waiting to earn his chance... he’s got the right attitude, with the right gaffer who won’t just leave him to sink or swim. What makes us good isn’t being a team of superstars. And for us this lad looks an asset. It’s obvious to me, at least. He’s 19. He’s been here two months. If he’d scored four goals in this time he’d be the messiah. But I REALLY do trust that Mowbray isn’t spunking money around willy nilly but GENUINELY trying to spend it on getting the best, most well rounded young professionals that we can afford to build our club. I’d give him 12-18 months before even thinking about the fee. Ultimately, it’s about the management and coaching at his age. He’s in good hands Ben Brereton is a Rovers Legend. /thread
  20. I think a lot of teams would take the likes of Brunt in this division. And Moore as a coach or leader. It just astounds me how teams that have been dourly fighting for their lives for years in the bottom 6 of the PL, don’t realise that there is very little difference now between that and the top 6 of the Champ. Turning that losing mentality around is a gargantuan task and who the hell can guarantee that success? Back to the merry go round with Steve Bruce?
  21. Like the way he seems to be in and amongst the banter. Always first to celebrate with a goalscorer etc. The “fee” (whatever it actually is) might be playing on our minds but doesn’t seem to effect him. Top attitude, top lad, fits in like a hand in glove and has great attributes. AND I saw him give his all and be effective in a blue and white shirt today so... He’s the best signing we’ve ever made, a bargain at twice the price and 100% an absolute Rovers legend. Bookmark this comment. /thread
  22. He was very brave to take it in the first place - relegated team with an overrated, over-paid and over-valued squad that are used to losing... He’s doing better than Rowett and Potter at least. Perspective needed from Baggies fans.
  23. A point off the play-offs. Four points off the autos. ? I know what you are saying though, it is a bit cautious. I think we’re going to see a lot of teams giving us a bit more respect soon and we are going to have to put a bit more creativity in there. I would have expected a tougher test today judging on QPR’s current form, and those two are great for shutting down and fighting our way into games. It’s the logical and safe choice. We’ll need to get braver, and I’m sure we will get braver with the personnel choices. Mowbray’s comments after the game shows me he probably agrees.
