  1. Errrr so I don't believe I said anything about having fond memories of his time here! As I did say... The timing was wrong no real manager could have come in during that period and done well( hence why we ended up having to just put Bowyer in charge for a couple of years to just keep the ship afloat) and also it wasn't the right time for him as he was still to young and not quite ready for managing a relatively big club. But from what I've read in interviews the rovers players at the time enjoyed working for him and liked his ideas and since leaving he's gone away and learnt his trade, gained plenty of experience and is now one of the most promising young English managers outside of the premiership.
  2. Seeing the news that Michael Appleton is currently having treatment for testicular cancer has reminded me what a stupid gaff it was to treat him so badly and let him slip through our fingers, sure i admit the timing wasn't right (it wouldn't have been right for any manager that came in during thay period) but it's a shame bridges we're burnt, as he'd easily be top of my list of realistic targets if the calamitous drone Mowbray left(or more ideally got potted finally)
  3. Errr so that will be a yes 'we're still under embargo' then Cheers
  4. Not sure if you're joking or not but I'll give that a miss thanks! 😅 Id have thought there'd be an article of some kind about it in the LT if it had all been settled, but I've not seen anything so just assumed there's been no real change. Sorry if I'm wrong and sorry if I've upset you with my thoughts precious 🤗
  5. Have the clubs acounts been submitted yet or are we still under embargo? Any talk of incoming transfers is just nauseating until that's completely settled.
  6. We do need to get his contract extended though! If he ends up leaving on a free or for chump change then it really would solidify it as financially one of the clubs absolute worst deals in modern times.
  7. No sorry i meant in the store itself, only the current stuff is on the sight but I'm sure they'll have old stuff stored away
  8. Also doesn't the rovers store keep s bit of a library of dvds going back a little while?
  9. Got a few crackin official rovers vhs tapes from the mid 90s, I'd be as suprised if they cant be found uploaded to YouTube somewhere, also got a few full games recorded from sky from then also, how the quality of the tapes has held up I've no idea, theyve been stuck im a cupboard since the late 90s
  10. ..... Now he's in the final year of his contract🙄 Yeah that makes sense. No way did they expect it to take so long for the guy to establish himself, he was playing regular first team football for forest before joining us, they probably thought he'd just need 6-12 months to toughen up a bit that's all
  11. If a good offer comes in for a penny more than we paid I can see Mowbray flogging him immediately without a sevonds thought just so he can gloat about it to the owners (regardless of whats best for the club)
  12. After the frustrating and probably miserable few years he's had here working under that useless bs merchant Mowbray and his dross bunch of cronies, I'm made up for the lad. Yes yes i know it's only Bolivia! But still he must have been under a lot of pressure from both sides of the ocean and the spotlight has firmly been fixed on him the last few weeks (with many mocking him and waiting for him to fail) So to score a perfectly tidy goal like that speaks volumes about his charecter and ability. Shame he's going to likely be coming back here to be made to look lost and amateurish under Mowbrays pish poor management will be a shame. Though if he can bang a couple more in I can see there being real interest from clubs abroad(at least!) wanting to sign him
  13. Darren Peacock (and we didnt even pay a fee for him ha) he and daily must be our worst defensive players in the prem years
  14. I wonder if this means we'll have to hand of another good wedge of cash to forest now he's got/getting a senior international cap!?
  15. Good luck to him! I'm not sure why all the negativity and getting capped by a decent level national team isnt going to do his value and reputation any harm
  16. not to different to how Sam Allardyce was running Bolton in their hey day 15-20years ago to be fair one of the biggest stand out points from that for me as the use of Loan players, i think in recent years weve relied far to heavily on loan players (especially young players from big prem clubs) and I do feel this effects the morale, confidence and psychology of our own young and fringe players yes you can point out how good Harvey Elliot's personal stats look... but at the end of the season it's the teams league position that counts, for example who's to say chapman couldn't have done as well as Elliot had he been given a fair run and chance to build his confidence and I cant imagine Carter could have done much worst than the woeful Brannthwaite
  17. Seeing how David Moyes has rejuvenated his career this season a west ham makes me feel Mark Hughes must be Due a revival, just a case of finding the right club at the right time with a good backroom/coaching team..... Sadly I just cant see him coming here and being happy working the way our club is currently run.
  18. It was deliberate, guess that went over your head 🥰 Ironically. 🤔
  19. So With his recent form Armstrong adds a couple more £mill to his value.... Then right away Mowbray knocks the value straight back down by basically admiting publicly that he has to sell him.GENIOUS.
  20. Id be delighted if we took a bit of a punt on Ainsworth, if it works out it could be brilliant and just the spark needed to revitalise the first team, if it doesn't work then meh! Not like there's much to lose at this point. Mowbray is now firmly in Kean territory for me and is just making me gag with every bit of nonsensical drivel he comes out with.
  21. Mowbray is literally saying the same things Steve Kean used to say only Mowbray isn't a total 🤬 he's just a very mediocre mid table championship manager coming to the end of his career.
  22. All the greats we've had have been mentioned repeatedly (and rightly so!) So im going to give a shout out for Lars Bohinen, played some great football for us at times in his first season before woy lost interest in him and scored a few great goals including a quality individual effort against man u
  23. How has corry Evans been here so long, such a mediocre inury prone non entity. He had about 10 good games tops for us in his first season before getting injured.
  24. Would actually be worthbit to see the look on the manager and players faces 😄😄 That said, i think its only fair to point out that although the first team and first team manager are doing poo, the rest of the club(academy-u23s are doing very well it seems) the foundations are there and i will give Mowbray some credit for his part in that... But what's happening with the first team is inexcusable and things have just gone very stale, the only remedy is a new manager with fresh ideas and more enthusiasm!
  25. Sorry not trying to be an arse but i think we play far better as a team without Dack(when he was out for the first half of the season) we're far to predictable with him as the oppo always know that when he's on the pitch all of our attack play goes through him so all they need to do is take him out. That said, Mowbray can still do one, awful league position and performances aside... I'm sick of his whinging, whining and excuses. Now he's also got the club shedding crocodile tears over Dack, seriously back in the day when a player got a bad injurey it was just 'oh well that's a bummer' but the team (and fans) just quickly move on. maybe its more a sign of the times that we're in. the club will/should be insured, the player will still get paid and I doubt Dack would have extended his contract with us unless we were promoted anyway(and that is not going to happen under this manager or sadly it seems these owners) sorry if that's harsh.
