  1. Christ what a joke. If he's picking a team to actively try not to win I'd rather it contain a few youngsters. Not only is playing Mulgrew and Bennett in our defence an atrocious idea, it teaches us nothing for our (inevitable) next season in the Championship.
  2. We battered Wolves 5-1 (even big Lorenzo bagged on debut) in the sun on the opening day of the 2003 season. Thompson scored a good volley from edge of the area but not 35/40 yards out. Maybe mixing that day with another?!
  3. I mean what a goal. I'd genuinely bite your hand off for a point now...
  4. Are you possibly confusing it with McCarthy's goal in the replay against Arsenal? That had commentary from Andy Gray that was very much like you describe.
  5. Ridiculous. Pedersen always give his all for this club, he's well down the list of "milkers". He gave Rovers fans some great memories in his time and deserves the affection he gets.
  6. God that header still haunts my dreams, no matter how many times, it never goes in...
  7. Typical Rovers performance when live on TV...dunno why I thought it would be different
  8. If we win we go 7th no? Given that Sheffield Wednesday should be getting deducted about 100 points for what they did I'm going to consider us in the play off places...
  9. Probably Chelsea away, but only cos it's 5 mins walk from my flat, I wouldn't really enjoy the pasting...
  10. Great performance. William's, I'm so sorry I've given you so much shit, clearly you've always been a very solid CB shoehorned at FB
  11. Doesn't matter. No such thing as a fixed position. This is Blackburn Rovers, if the gaffer likes you and you're the centre of the training ground banter, you're in team. #ForTheGoodOfTheGroup
  12. 4/5 good chances?!? Gallagher put a header wide and Johnson took too long to get a shot away and was closed down. What else did we have? Defensively we were a bit better, but for all the talk of us being a top 6 side offensively, we looked crap. With Mowbray here this is a relegation fight, with a competent manager, it might be top 12.
  13. We didn't have a shot on target... We could've played another 90 mins and not come close to scoring. This team has bottom half written all over it (with the current manager in charge(.
  14. What's annoyed me is the lack of anything going forward. People were making out if we had a new CB we'd be top 6. Defensively shite and shite going forward, I'd snap your hand off for 15th right now.
  15. Travis only one sticking his foot on the ball and getting us moving forward. Since he went off, completely disjointed. Awful manager...
  16. Fulham will concede a shit load this season if teams press hard. Seem to think they're City, trying to play out from the back, without anywhere near the quality.
  17. Been a very good start so far. Bell been absolutely awful though. Like the look of Tosin and as it's my first live game of the season Johnson looks a real good signing.
  18. I struggle to see how 60% believe it's an average or above window. Unless Tosin turns out to be a good starting Championship level centre back, we have utterly failed to address the issues that were plain for all (except Tony apparently) to see last season. Money has been totally wasted on areas of the team that weren't an issue. Long season ahead methinks.
  19. Hopefully we shoot with the wind in the first half...
  20. Before lack of defensive signings (and the Charlton debacle) I was really looking forward to this - closest game of the season for me, 10 minute walk to Craven Cottage. As it is now, I struggle to see anything other than 3/4-0 pasting. If Mowbray makes the same pig headed team selection as last weekend I expect a somewhat frosty reception from the travelling support...
