The only hope of us getting him to sign a new contract is sentimentality. He's good mates with a lot of the squad and perhaps that might swing it. On the flip side, his agent will be doing a poor job if he lets him sign a contract with anything more than a £15m release clause, because the interest for him will clearly be there.

There's no danger of them buying us in the Championship cos they don't have the cash to pay what the Venky's would want. Only way they take control of Rovers is through an LBO in the same manner they acquired Asda (and the way in which the Dingles were bought). That would rely on us having a strong pipeline of revenue (i.e. Premier League TV cash) to support exorbitant debt payments. Then (much like the Dingles) we'd be very heavily reliant on not getting relegated, lest we face financial Armageddon. I'd much rather Rovers are heavily indebted to their current owners than owing external finance at c15% p.a.

Goalkeepers shirts in the 90s were supposed to be garish, I don't think they're particularly bad. I quite liked the orange one, I had that with Sutton on the back as a young chap. Worst kits for me were the Nike era. We may as well have ordered them straight out the team kit catalogue for all the effort they put in. The worst one definitely being the pale blue disgrace with Zebra Claims on the front.

Don’t wanna be that guy but I really don’t understand complaints about sizing. I’m normally M or L (depending on level of activity in previous few months ha ha). This year large fits perfectly well for me. Do you all want your shirts to fit like a tent?

I'm all for slagging off the way the club is run but they can't really win sometimes. Finally partner with a provider who put some effort into kits (albeit with constrained supply for home/away) and they're accused of arriving there by accident.

Take slight issue with him saying he left us in a good state. Playing Matteo in midfield and having just signed Javier de Pedro... That said, he did a great job on the whole and I'd bite your hand off to have a manager like him in charge right now.
