  1. Like I said the other day, we spent decent money (I heard £1m fee, plus wages) on Adarabioyo. So (positively) I eventually do see him starting ahead of Mulgrew at CB, however (negatively) I can't see us signing another CB of real quality (Hanley) as Tosin will not rot on the bench all season. Currently our best case scenario is: Nyambe - Tosin - Lenihan - Cunninghan Lenihan will have to move to LCB which I don't think he has played yet so that's a risk, whereas Hanley was naturally the LCB.
  2. Getting in pole position isn't our problem (McGinn, Bauer etc). Just can't finish.
  3. "Mowbray had a dreaaaam" "To build Middlesbrough B" "We had no money yet we spent a mil on a loaaaaan" "Still Mulgrew at the baaack" "And Bennett, who's caaaaaack" "We're Blackburn Rovers" "And Mowbray needs sacked"
  4. Wouldn't rush to keep any of them to honest. Though I may change my thoughts on DG but after his cameo against Charlton where he had more offsides than touches of the ball... not sure he'll be a starter by August 2020. Must be a decent wage between them 6 too.
  5. Have you never had a "bang average s***"? "Bang Average S***" Also nicely describes every TM transfer window at Rovers, every Richie Smallwood performance since December 2017 and every bit of food I've bought on the Ewood concourse for the past 15 years. Could be our 2019/2020 season motto...
  6. He is on the contract of his life for the next 12 months and he knows it. Who can blame him. £1 million ? (not joking).
  7. Thing is, it might game 1 of this season, but that was probably game 50 with that back four (since Bell signed). Yes Johnson and Travis look good and I was actually pleased with Downing, however this crap Mowbray saying that it's not a case of same back four = same result... That's exactly what it is you fucktard. Sticking with Bennett, Mulgrew and Bell in that back four is worse than when Souness lost the plot and played 5 left backs vs WBA. He needed to go 5 months ago. 1st game my arse. Nothing will change my mind now. The £5m he spent on Gallagher let alone the £7m on Brereton are each more than every manager before him since Kean has had to spend COMBINED. Yet we see that turgid back four for the 4th transfer window running. Sign a CB, drop Bennett, or fuck off.
  8. Elliott Bennett: Goal Scoring Chances Created 2019/2020 Blackburn Rovers: 0 Everyone Else: 2 (1 Goal) Tweet that!
  9. Force... That's literally what it seems like it will take to get Bennett out the team. I actually wished the ref would have given him a red in the (88th?) minute when he flew in and it got a little handbags. If he can't drop him after that, that was Elliott Ward Doncaster level bad. Only as good as your weakest player... well we have 4 L1 players in the back 5... as we did 18 months ago. Almsot 6 hours later and I still can't get over how utter shyte Bennett was.
  10. ... And another thing! That pie today was drier than David Brent's sense of humour!
  11. Elliott Bennett was a fucking embarrassment today, absolute garbage, again. What a truly pathetic performance... if only we cold have predicted that before KO. Those quotes from TM in the LET conclude all we know, he is a spineless, gutless manager who only protects the likes of Bennett, Mulgrew and Smallwood from criticism yet throws the U23 's under the bus time and again. Changes needed.
  12. Fuck off Mowbray... we will never reach the potential we can with him bumbling around with Bennett at RB and Rothwell not on the pitch. Hope he comes on with 30 to go in a 0-0 and drags us to the 3 points. Rothwell really needs a song.
  13. Can't wait for this afternoon. Tony if you (or one of your stooges) are reading this, on behalf of (probably) all of the BRFC supporters, we beg: Please do not bench Travis, Rothwell and Nyambe! PS. Some young lads (JRC, Buckley) on the bench instead of the likes of Smallwood, Samuel, etc would be a bonus. PPS. I would ask for Bennett to be an impact sub and NOT the RB, but I know you cant control who you fall in love with. COYB!
  14. Don't disagree with you... but we can't have a squad of 30. Using your example: Hart, Williams, Bell, Downing, Grayson and even Mulgrew can fill in at LB - we cant have six "options" for one position... it's madness. A squad of 23-25 should be the target, however loans look like the only options since the likes of Smallwood seem about as desirable to other clubs as eating a bowl of warm ?? with chopsticks.
  15. So that's 30 players with Adarabioyo yet to be numbered. We need that realistically cut by 5 or 6 players either through loans or sales in the next week. Fisher as 3rd choice GK should be loaned as should Grayson, Butterworth and even Hart if Tony is serious about LB Downing. Smallwood definitely and maybe Samuel should be sold if possible. Leaving: GK: Walton, Leutwiler (Hilton) Def: Bennett, Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Adarabioyo, Magliore, Williams, Bell, Rankin-Costello and Downing (10) CM: Travis, Johnson, Evans, Davenport, Bennett, Buckley, Rankin-Costello and Downing (8) W/AM: Rothwell, Dack, Armstrong, Gallagher, Downing, Chapman, Brereton, Bennett and Rankin-Costello (9) S: Graham, Gallagher, Brereton, Armstrong (4) Plenty of versatility (Tony loves that) and lots of depth for injuries etc. Still dont see a promotion winning squad there though. Get a proper CB in and maybe look to give Magliore half a season away too.
  16. It hadn't actually occurred to me that by selling Nuttall we (presumably) add £750k* to our budget. Gallagher in, Raya and Nuttall out. So we are about £1m* (plus decent wages on Johnson, Gallagher and Downing) down on a promised (similar) budget to last summer. Mowbray claims the Raya money is untouched, meaning that (assuming Tony isn't full of shit) decent money is there to spend. Sounds great but I certainly dont see us spending £4m - £8m in the next 7 days. Can only imagine.
  17. Congratulations Joe. Starting position at a good L1 team. Hope he bangs them in for Blackpool and Rovers and Nuttall go on to better things and we benefit more financially in the future.
  18. Bit drastic... but look at the facts. Williams is injured, Rodwell is gone, Nyambe is a RB, Adarabioyo signed yesterday, no one else signed, Magliore and Grayson are teenagers. Mulgrew is nailed on for the first game because we only have 2 senior, fit, central defenders. Mowbray will want to play all his faves against a team like Charlton in the hope we win by a few goals (possible). That way he can "justify" playing them for the next month or 3. God help us if we start with Nyambe, Travis and Rothwell on the bench and win comfortably... Tony will feel justified to leave them out for ages.
  19. As it stands for me, 10 positions should pick themselves for Sat... Walton, Nyambe, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Bell, Travis, Johnson, Right winger, Dack, Rothwell, Graham. Don't care if the winger is Armstrong, Gallagher, Downing, Chapman, Rankin-Costello, Javier De Pedro, Bennett or even Brereton... but that (for me) is our best XI until Tosin gets up to speed or we buy one better. I do expect Gallagher to be starting most games eventually. Of course, no way I see even 2 of Bennett, Downing, Armstrong or Evans on the bench. Roll on Saturday.
  20. Good for Nuttall. He has resurrected a career here but is likely never going to be good enough. Maybe we're smart and add a buy back clause as well as a sell on fee. Smallwood to go next ? Butterworth, Grayson, Fisher and Samuel could all probably do with loaning. Bring the squad size down.
  21. I took that to include any manager we have had not in the top flight... clearly you were only referring to the list of jokers and clowns post 2012. I've only been aware of football since the premier league era began, but of all our managers i think it's easy so state that the top three are clearly (chronologically) Dalglish, Souness and Hughes, with Allardyce easily in 4th. Most fans around this board can't even decide fully if Mowbray is doing better than Bowyer, so even if Mowbray is the 5th best manager we've had in 30 years... the managers ranked 5th - 15th are all pretty laughable, very flawed or simply bang average. You're still saying Mowbray is better than Allardyce... which is amusing.
  22. Hmmmm... Sure Kenny Dalglish (1992) and Greame Souness (2001) would agree with you ?... both of whom actually won us promotion... and then a pretty significant trophy after that... And... Since Mark Hughes. So that's Paul Ince, Sam Allardyce, Steve Kean, Henning Berg, Michael Appleton, Gary Bowyer, Paul Labert, Owen Coyle. High praise indeed. ? Did you actually just say Tony Mowbray is a better manager than Dalglish, Souness and Allardyce. You actually did. 2 of what you're drinking!
