  1. Arsenal did not win 3 FA Cups on the bounce which as a Rovers fan you should know as we were the last club to do that. Why do you disregard the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League which Man Utd have won since Ferguson left? That's as many trophies as Wenger won in his last 13 seasons. Also Ferguson wasn't sacked he retired.
  2. Not sure that Arsenal have had continued success at one point they went 9 seasons without a trophy and haven't won the League in 15 years. In the last 26 years Chelsea (with multiple managers) have had a lot more success than Arsenal (with one manager).
  3. It wasn't their under 23's that we played. It was a Lancs Senior Cup game so you can play whoever you want (we chose to play the u23's) and their side included a fair few players with football league experience.
  4. I'll ask again Chaddy as you must have missed the question when I asked it previously. Are these Ipswich fans that are backing Lambert the same ones that wanted McCarthy out?
  5. Are those the same Ipswich fans that wanted McCarthy out?
  6. Millwall at home and Derby away.
  7. Leutwiler Nyambe Rodwell Mulgrew Bell Reed Travis Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Raya, Williams, Bennett, Smallwood, Chapman, Butterworth, Nuttall
  8. Rothwell needs to be playing more he's shown that he has some ability, but he isn't going to get better or learn unless he get's more game time. You can see when he comes on how desperate he is to do well and impress the manager to get himself a start which leads to him trying to do too much at times. I feel for the lad he has some ability yet by mid February he has started less games that Conway.
  9. I think its clear for all to see that our fitness levels are well below the levels of the vast majority of teams in the division.
  10. It wouldn't have been so bad if he was any good in just one of them.
  11. Awful. The last two weeks have been a reality check of just how far away from being top 6 contenders we really are. The manager's negligence in the transfer market is starting to show as today we looked stale and devoid of any ideas. Absolutely no fight or hunger after they scored sadly the great team spirit that the manager talks about was missing again as heads dropped immediately. Another late goal which has been the story since the first day of the season the manager clearly has absolutely no idea how to stop this problem, I personally still believe that we aren't up to the level of other teams in terms of fitness. A special mention for Elliott Bennett today as he played in 3 different positions and was equally ineffective in all 3. To me the manager is shoehorning him in ahead of better players I mean seriously we need a goal and he takes Dack of and put's Bennett in the number 10 role what on earth was he thinking. I'm no fan of Bell but he has done ok recently and certainly much better than Bennett dropping Bell for Williams was to me Mowbray thinking I better give Del a run out today. Harrison Reed is our best central midfielder by some distance yet Mowbray seems to only rate him as our 4th best, he's wasted on the right. Today showed that some of the managers favourites are not up to it at this level and in the summer we must be offloading the likes of Bennett, Williams and Smallwood we won't ever get past mid table if those 3 are regularly in the team. All in all another drab afternoon at Ewood I could count on one hand the amount of halves of football that I have enjoyed at home this season. Mowbray keeps talking about changing our style but the question is when are we ever going to see it.
  12. I'm no great fan of Bell and I think Williams is the slightly better full back but if one full back needed dropping after last week it was Bennett.
  13. A quite incredible comment. Indeed the only stat that matters that the end of the season is where you finish but when you concede so many goals that is going to limit how high you can finish, its no coincidence that the last 3 seasons the two sides that have conceded the least amount of goals have gone up automatically. A very complacent comment which only strengthens my opinion that a mid table/top half finish is as good as we will ever get under Mowbray.
  14. Fantastic game of football. Villa are a great side to watch as a neutral as they have are great going forward but terrible at the back.
  15. If there's a better striker in the Championship than Billy Sharp then I am yet to see him.
  16. A couple of older ones, William Townley scored in back to back FA Cup final wins which included him scoring the first ever hattrick in an FA Cup final. Jack Southworth also scored in back to back FA Cup final wins, 119 goals in 129 league and cup games and still holds the record of most hattricks for Rovers.
  17. They can't be recalled full stop outside of a transfer window.
  18. Presumably you think that we should have just sent a team of kids and a few reserves out for the last 2 games then?
  19. Would I have liked to have won the league of course I would, was I devastated that we didn't win it no I wasn't as promotion was of course the main aim. However I was slightly disappointed that we seemed to turn our nose up at the opportunity to win the league. We didn't put out anything like our strongest possible team at Charlton.
  20. I rarely bet but Palmer to score anytime at 4/1 was to good a bet to resist.
  21. You are backing up my argument there Chaddy although you probably don't realise it. Saturday as you acknowledge is a 6 pointer win we could be within 1 point of top 6 lose and we are 7 adrift. So I will ask you again why would you not play our best player in such an important game? For me if Graham is fit then he should play, simple as that.
  22. Why? If we lose Saturday we are 7 points behind Bristol City having played a game more and our play offs chances however slim they were anyway will be as good as gone.
  23. Mowbray said after the Hull game that it was his decision not to put Nyambe in the squad, so I would assume that it was the same on Saturday.
  24. Even if Mulgrew isn't fit I would hope that Mowbray brings Nyambe in for Bennett.
  25. Let's hope Mulgrew is back for Saturday otherwise we will be regretting letting Downing go.
