The January 2026 Transfer Window
sharpysharps86 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Surely at least one of these 2 is a loan - the Toulouse player seems the more likely. Pleased it looks like we're bringing in an actual striker, just a shame they lack Championship experience. -

Seems a decent player based on the info out there. Still need a couple of strikers though. -

Unable to read it as they've limited who can view their posts, assuming it's because I don't follow them. Is it Nixon? -
v Ipswich Town (a) - 17/1/26

Ipswich 3-0 Rovers. They are bang in form at the perfect time while Coventry are stumbling a little. Fully expect them to put Rovers to the sword unfortunately. Predicted team: Toth O'Riordan McLoughlin Cashin Miller Tronstad TGH Pickering Baradji Cantwell Ohashi -
Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
sharpysharps86 replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They just don't get it. It's got nothing to do with expectations of where the club should be at all IMO. We all dream of being back in the premier league, of course we do, and there have been opportunities to make that happen in recent seasons that Venky's have well and truly ballsed up....but that aside, all I care about is to have owners and those running the club that are decent, honest people that have the club's best interests at heart. It is clear that the current ownership and those based at Ewood are not decent and honest, and do not have the club's best interests at heart. Simple as that. -

0 league goals this season so that's definitely happening 😅 -

If Baradji does sign permanently, I imagine he is planned to be Cantwell's replacement as the latter will likely be shipped out in the summer. For what it's worth, I think Baradji is a good player. Not exactly the deal that we needed to do this month though! -
Valérien Ismaël: Former Head Coach

Agreed. There will be coaches out there that could come in and do a better job than Ismael. The question is whether Rovers are capable of appointing one... 😅 -

Read he did his ACL in December 2024...missed the remainder of last season as a result, so has probably been set back in his development since. -

Only post I can see on that cesspit of a platform is from that Howard_RV person that was suggested to be Mercer at one point. -

Keillor-Dunn has good pedigree in League's One and Two, but to my knowledge he hasn't ever played in the Championship. At 28 this is a risk...but then I suppose I'd prefer it to some random striker from the Belgian 2nd division. -
Painful Acceptance
sharpysharps86 replied to Devon Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Think I can certainly put myself in the category of almost giving up. I can absolutely relate to a lot of what has been said in the posts above. My son, age 9, is not into football at all. He has his own special interests, so the love for Rovers in my family will end with me. I do find myself questioning 'what's the point' now, when all supporting Rovers seems to bring me is misery. -

So we're now reluctant to spend more than 5k a week on wages based on that latest Nixon report? Blimey, we really are gearing up for League One aren't we.😂 -
Sadly a lot of people are really dumb.

As soon as he came out with those comments the other day it became clear he'd had enough and was asking to be sacked. Sounds like all was not well between him and Jason Wilcox. The fact that he changed system to 4 at the back, beat Newcastle, and then reverted back to his 3-4-3 system for no apparent reason was just dumb.

If Baradji is able to stay fit and continue as he did today, then I'd argue that Cantwell should be benched when Gudjohnsen is back. Baradji at least seems to offer a goal threat, arriving in the box twice today in the right position. Cantwell may have crossed well for the first goal, but I'm struggling to see where he fits in this team once Gudjohnsen returns and they revert to 2 up top. -

Not good enough. Ismael needs removing not that it'll happen. A draw is not enough from another must win home game. Coming back from 2 nil down only papers over the cracks. Pleased for Baradji. -

Toth not starting. Ismael should be sacked for that alone. Pathetic. -
They've decided against signing him permanently at the price quoted by Liverpool, but they have an obligation to buy him at that price if he plays so many minutes, that's why he's not featuring for them anymore. Disappointing move for him. Emery was quoted as saying they'd decided against a permanent deal in September, so what on earth was the point? Just wasting the players time.

Bit of a meh signing if true, so it probably is. Is Cashin a better option at CB than anyone currently playing there for Rovers?
