  1. That's a very decent signing for Oxford https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/ben-davies-joins-oxford-united-loan-rangers Davies & Helik at centre back looks solid, Helik a big set piece threat too
  2. There is a sizable difference between not wanting to play for Rovers, & not being offered the wage/contract befitting a proven Championship performer in his prime, with over 250 appearances to his name & who has been club captain for 3 years
  3. or if that doesn't work out, we can try backwards & downwards? 😉
  4. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25411554.blackburn-rovers-transfer-latest-surprise-links/ Deals for Blackburn Rovers to sell John Buckley and Aynsley Pears could accelerate in the final week of the transfer window. Neither player is part of Valerien Ismael's plans at Ewood Park and so the club are open to letting them leave before September 1. There has been speculation about interest from Saudi Arabia in John Buckley, though suitors for Pears have been less public. Ismael did not dismiss the rumours around either player and admitted things could move quickly in the final 10 days of the window. "Yes, at the minute, as I say, we have a lot of talk ongoing behind the scenes, you can imagine, in and out going," Ismael said. "But there's nothing concrete and official now to say, so at the minute we can't announce anything. So let's see how the thing goes. "But as you know, the thing may happen quickly and now, especially when you know that you still have one week, a little bit more than one week until the end of the transfer window." Rovers are hoping to kickstart their season against Hull City on Saturday. It's an important game for the team after losing their first three in league and cup. "We want to get our season started," Ismael said. "On the theory side, it's easy to do but in practice, it's always something different but it is our focus. "We are focused on the pitch, we had a good week, more calm. Now we have a game where we want to put in a great team performance to help us compete. "Hopefully, we can get a result to lift and to start our season. They're playing well but we saw that they had some difficulties. It's a good team, they play well. "We will have our chance and at some point, hopefully, we can be more clinical. When we get our chance, we are really focused on that game. As I said, we had a good week of training with consistency."
  5. Yep,that was it Someone mentioned Brereton yesterday who was an initial loan with either an option or obligation
  6. Well put, I do not disagree with that summing up. asso Honor probably not quite as good with his feet as the others mentioned which is maybe why he doesn't have as much hype as Michalski I will add that when Barrett was given an extension during the summer, I assumed that this was for him to be third choice behind Toth & either Pears or another, and allow Michalski, Goddard to get out out on loan to get games and develop. If Michalski is going to sit on the bench, then it makes no sense whatsoever, and Barrett should have been released
  7. Goddard, I also quite like Sol Honor
  8. Yes, Raya went to Southport in the national League on loan, Michalski needs to do similar Barrett is our 5th best keeper, at best, no where near ready, & never will be
  9. Voodoo in Benin - What you need to know Genuinely is the biggest religion in Benin apparently
  10. Using funds in January, FFP/PSR cycles mean that less money is available for clubs to spend in mid season as they have already done the bulk of their spending during the summer Which is why you do not sell in January unless you are offered silly money
  11. Or Spurs may have spent that £30M on Wharton rather than Gray
  12. Sanderson as one of 3 centre backs & Nyambe as wing back
  13. splitting hairs, but he has already signed it There is a 3rd option that he does "ok", we sign him, & he plods along, but yes, think your 2 options are the most likely there
  14. He has literally signed a legal document stating he will move if the option is triggered, so can be "forced" In reality, if another club wants to sign him for more money, he signs for Rovers at the legally pre agreed price, for the legally pre agreed wage, & is then immediately sold. It is not that odd an occurrence
  15. Ribeiro was a free transfer, never on loan Sigurdsson wasn't technically a loan either as his contract with his Russian club was "paused" Armstrong was on loan before we bought him, but don't think there was an option Zeefuik had an option, that worked out well 😉
  16. Is he? I was under the impression they were trying to loan him out to save a few quid and had essentially frozen him out until he agrees to the loan
  17. Rovers U21 0 - 4 Brighton U21
  18. Id settle for someone who can take them Asking for both is probably asking for too much 😉
  19. If you mean Afolayan, he is English, so no work permit or esc slot of any sort is needed
  20. Suppose we will find out when they post the obligatory social media interview and if they don't post one, then the answer is "no" 😉
  21. The most likely outcome is he has his operation, and spends the majority of the season injured playing a few games off the bench before being sent back next summer
  22. If another club offers more wages, he will be signed for Rovers at the pre agreed fee & wages, and then immediately sold at profit
  23. Again, this makes sense, in case Rovers send him back, its the Swiss club protecting themselves against potential loss as his current contract expires next summer
