1 - Yes 2 - Don't care 😉 -
If anyone wants to torture themselves, the replay of the U21s getting spanked by Palace in on Rovers site. I am looking at it as an opportunity to have a look at Mafoumbi https://www.rovers.co.uk/videos/latest-videos/?section=ae9fc48c-a8b7-485a-9482-4efaac4b0a61

Birmingham splashing the cash again, loan but it wont be a cheap loan fee or wages -

We look much better with Gueye on the pitch, but he doesn't currently seem to be able to last much more than 45 mins. I am sure that he build this up in time, but until then, Eustace has to make a choice as to if we are better starting or finishing a game with Gueye in the side -

I cant comment on Drommel (not seen enough of him), either of the others would fit Rovers play style, however, not sure if we have the funds/wages/loan fees/delete as applicable for either (either on loan on permanent (obviously a permanent solution is preferable if it is possible) -

We may not play out from the back quite as much as under JDT, but it is still a feature of Rovers game plan. If we tried doing this with Ruddy in goal it would be catastrophic -

Birmingham fans were not keen on keeping him, quotes below from just one page of Birmingham forum https://www.smallheathalliance.com/read.php?1,3567165,3567322 He isn't good enough to be first choice anymore, particularly with how we want to play. He has been a good servant for the club though, and seems to have a great attitude. I think we need to move on from him but I'd have no problem if he stayed as a back up. Particularly if he is a help for the squad culture. As soon as we started trying to play on the 'front foot', Ruddy was the odd piece of the jigsaw. He's a great keeper but if we want to play with more possession he isn't the one for us. If we carry on with this playing style then the number 2 needs to be able to step in without changing how we play, therefore Ruddy wouldn't be much use to us. I also think we need to look to the future and get a new keeper, one who is comfortable playing out from the back and can ping an accurate pass. Ruddy has done a good job for us the last couple of years though. -

Apparently Brum have spent about £15M this summer so far, and half the income from transfer sales to Rovers https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/league-one/transfers/wettbewerb/GB3 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/championship/transfers/wettbewerb/GB2/plus/?saison_id=2024&s_w=s&leihe=3&intern=0&intern=1 Don't we wish we had owners that gave a monkeys? -

"Shoo in" - Its a horse racing term, like "Champing at the bit" Sorry, I'm just being a pedant. But we have to maintain standards or else there will shortly be mention of "catphrases", "damp squids" and the like 😉 -
He has not featured for them at U18 or U21 level either, and they never actually announced his signing. I know that he has signed for them (seen the photos and statements from Rovers, Finneran etc), but it is an odd situation. You would have thought Newcastle would have been keen to announce his arrival, He is seen as a player with huge potential, and they beat numerous top tier English and German team to him so surely they view this as a coup?

George Pratt close to fitness and has signed a new contract https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/25/pratt-targets-playing-return/ And the U21s play Man Utd at Ewood Park on Friday for anyone interested https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/25/ticket-news--rovers-under-21s-v-manchester-united-under-21s/

Completely agree. Surely based on those 2 signings, the recruitment team have earnt the right to have another stab or two at potential targets? And also, given how much of an impact they have had, why would Eustace have an issue with them plucking targets out of Outer Mongolia or Timbuktu? -

The really strange thing with Gueye is despite how often he seems to scuff a shot/struggle with his technique/look clumsy with the ball, he really can pick a pass, his decision making is quite impressive -

Poku 'going nowhere' - Ferguson Pretty sure that due to his age, Peterborough still get a transfer fee if he walks at the end of his contract next summer, so without silly money being spent, he likely is not leaving -

Todays games for our loanees Starts for O'Riordan - Cambridge Markanday - Chesterfield Wood - Annan Montgomery - Marine Michalski - Bamber Bridge Gamble on bench for Fylde As mentioned in a post above, Garrett came off the bench for the last 20 odd mins for Bristol Rovers, when they were 2-0 down (early game) Atcheson was taken off with a head injury earlier this week, and does not feature for Marine Mullarkey-Matthews doesn't feature for Bamber Bridge Boggan was named in Rovers U18 lineup today so does not feature for Macclesfield Goddard not playing this weekend as Dundalks game was called off for strange reasons Honor not playing as Clitheroe have no game today Fylde, Marine, Bamber Bridge, Macclesfield and Clitheroe play again on Monday -

He is on the bench, along with Ayari https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/cy080kpp0gxt#Line-ups Their first choice keeper is currently injured, but due back in a week or so, which would leave Rushworth as third choice -
It could be argued that Boggan is already at/past U18 level, he scored at hat trick v Wolves U21 in pre season, and a months loan (its a youth loan which is closer to work experience than a long term loan) away will give him a proper look at men's football so that he can look at how and what he has to work on to further develop his game Both the U18 and U21 leagues have no relegation, so being in an environment where results matter, and spots in the team are won based on performance rather than with the aim of developing players will be a useful experience for all of these players out on loan Edit - In fact it appears Boggan can also play for our youth teams, Davies also starting today
