  1. Very true, but it can't be any worse than all of the injury prone midfielders we've had over the last couple of seasons. To me he would be an upgrade on Evans and probably play a similar amount of minutes.
  2. Matty James from Leicester is out of contract this summer. Had a good season at Coventry on loan this season and could be a good pick up on a free. Easily better than all of our outgoing centre mids and Bradley Johnson, would walk into this team in its current state.
  3. Think the fact we started to time waste with 20 minutes to go only 1-0 up against bottom of the league sums up the whole season. Absolutely clueless manager and team. Hope Johnson doesn't get a new contract, the bloke looks lost on the pitch every game he plays. He's absolutely past it. Bell had a better game than usual going forward, but still looked awful in defence. Travis looked way better than he has recently.
  4. I thought the same, perhaps the extra got injured too. That's the only logical reasoning I can think of for not filling a subs bench. It's such a shame that even in the last two dead rubbers, us fans don't even get a chance to see some of the future players getting some game time. I feel like he's still sour about Huddersfield making 10 changes in that last game of the season when we got relegated and he's stubbornly trying to show himself off as a man of integrity, prioritising other teams' chances of staying up over academy development.
  5. Anyone noticed that we've only named 8 subs on a 9 sub bench. Is Mowbray that stubborn about not bringing some youth players into the last few games?
  6. Surely you'd think he recognises that he isn't able to play at a championship level anymore and needs to move on if he wants to play regular football. Feels like he's throwing his toys out of the pram a little bit here. Not like Mowbray is the one controlling the club Twitter account?
  7. They don't have an u23 side and weren't able to offer pro contracts to any of the u18s this year I think
  8. Chapman, Dolan, Armstrong and maybe JRC look to be the only decent players today
  9. I worked with one of his old mates, seem to remember he said that they grew up in Rotherham I think and that Sharpe became a Rovers fan because one of the lads at school's dad played for Rovers in the 90s. Can't remember who it was though.
  10. Wednesday equalised as well, path to the playoffs is looking hopeful
  11. I got married on Friday, luckily just before everything decided to close down! My wife's step dad decided to ask Rovers and Liverpool (wife is a big Liverpool fan) if they'd be able to get some players to sign a congratulations card for us. Amazingly, Rovers entertained the idea and have sent a card with a few signatures (unfortunately the same can't be said for Liverpool). I've worked out a few of the signatures, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to help out them at all?
  12. Bennett needs to retire immediately, what an abysmal excuse for a footballer
  13. I'd have thought so as well, but it fits the previous rumour about a young PL loan maybe not going through because their team have more cup games
  14. I don't understand this point you're trying to make. Did Danny Graham score in preseason, did Dack, did Gallagher? The answer is no. Does that mean that Graham, Dack and Gallagher are all incapable of being able to play against championship opposition because they can't score goals against lower league opposition in preseason? I think all three of those players have definitely shown they can cut it at this level. The fact is that preseason is all about building player form and confidence asn well as working on how the team approaches games. At the current time Armstrong and Brereton are our in form forwards and will definitely have the confidence in them to go out; go at the opposition and score goals after a successful preseason.
  15. Anyone able to advise if there's any good cheap places to park round Ewood for the game? Looking at trying to get to this game and a few others this season now they've introduced the new 18-25 ticket bracket, helps cut the cost of travelling from Leicester and back for a home game. Have a feeling the scoreline will be 3-1 to rovers and the starting lineup below: Walton Bennett, Lenihan, Mulgrew, Bell Travis, Johnson Dack Gallagher, Graham, Armstrong
  16. https://twitter.com/WilliamHill/status/1139535378036252674 William Hill have posted percentage home attendance for the championship last season. Rovers at the bottom with 46%.
  17. Not particularly rovers related but Oxford United have signed Sam Allardyce's grandson Sam Allardyce https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2019/may/sam-allardyce/
  18. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/may/rovers-confirm-retain-list/ Confirmations are that Leutwiler is staying for another year and Downing has been let go.
