v Ipswich Town (a) - 23/9/23
Hannoverover replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Nope (I'm also in US). I'm giving up actively following Rovers. I can't reliably watch the games which isn't great when newly converted friends come over to watch them. Now put Premier league games on, which costs less per month than watching Rovers. Tried to buy some shirts but that also doesn't work... amateurs. Easier and cheaper for neutrals to follow other teams. -

Don't know why I bother sometimes. Paid 10quid and missed at least the first 10 mins. Edit: and now 2 goals -
Blackburn Rovers Women

See that Rovers Women's team won again! Seem to be making year on year improvements for a while now. Does anyone know what the expectations are for this season? Could they play in the top league in the short-medium term based on ability and facilities? -

ESPN+ in the US -
Looking like 9000 season tickets sold by the start of the season. Frustrating that we aren't growing the match day attendance like other clubs are. On the plus side, when we get new owners (or CEO?), it'll be an easy PR boost to reduce prices to a competitive level and add a few thousand season ticket sales.

Pre season 23/24
Hannoverover replied to TheRovers1994's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Just seen an advert for the Premier league summer series here in the US. Tickets starting at 45 up in the gods and some even cost several hundred. That's a lot of money in a huge American football stadium! Divided by 4 teams as its a double-header. 9 matches in total for 6 teams. Guessing we won't be as adventurous this summer. Personally I would much prefer watching Rovers vs Accy/Wigan with a pie in one hand a cup of bovril in the other for a tenner. -
Just seen the final U21s table! Very close in the end with 3 teams tied on 28 points. Spurs went down on goal difference with their fancy academy. Bet Ash Phillips is relieved he stayed! Leicester also had a disaster with their modern multi-million pound academy too

Luton seem too strong for Sunderland. As a side note, quite a few ex Rovers doing well this season. Apart from Armstrong today of course -
Great news for the whole club. Maybe I was slightly overconfident that we were safe after beating spurs....
-
Maybe Wolves are in trouble too. If they don't beat Fulham today, they will need points against Crystal Palace and/or Man city to finish above us.
-
Great turnaround and win. That will surely see us stay up this season. Big boost for our academy and future player development. I was slightly surprised that we didn't play more fringe first team players today given how important the game was.

Apologies in advance, but this will be the 3rd game in a row I've watched.... surely can't be worse than the last two. Going for a fired up Rovers winning 2-0. -

Anyone know much about him? I used to play for the same club (but not the same team) and he was one of the best u19 strikers in Germany. Wouldnt suprise me if he scored over 50% of the teams goals during the season. Scored loads of goals at youth level, but then struggled for a year or two until things clicked in his 2nd season in the third division leading to his move to Belgium where he did really well! I think he was fairly fast and strong. He scored lots of spectacular long range goals too. He's a good player with a very good scoring record at almost every club he's played at. -

Watched less than 10mins of the game and already seen Burnley concede 3 goals! Awful defending from set pieces. More optimistic of our chances next weekend now! -

Just came across this tweet: I wonder where we rank in the US and more importantly in India? Haven't met a fellow Rover here in Washington DC yet or an Indian whose heard of Venkys either. Quite a few Americans have heard of Rovers though and the Premier league is the most liked league, with probably Liverpool/ Manchester Utd being the top two teams -
Are all the games shown on Sky also shown on ESPN+? Just seen that tonight's and the Sunderland game are available. Guess the Burnley game will also be too? If so it'll be worth subscribing to see them as they won't be on rovers TV.

v Luton Town (a) - 17/9/22

I think I've picked the wrong game to watch on ifollow. Being second best to Luton is never something a Rovers team should aspire to be. Great block by pickering!
